If you had a domain myfamily.com then you could have subdomains photos.myfamily.com and news.myfamily.com or mum.myfamily.com You can create an FTP account that only has access to the photos directory - and then they would only have accesss to the photos subdomain. Is that what you mean?

Welcome to the family In the account details in OE - make sure you have the "my server requires authentification" ticked for the outgoing mail server. Then you should be fine. If you have not got this ticked, then you will need to 'check' your email first, and for a short period of time, the server will remember your authenitification - and hence you can send.

Hi, You should go to the domain registrar, and change the nameservers to; ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com which will get rid of most of the 'errors'.

If you open a help desk ticket, we can attempt to copy the complete account over it is is currently using cpanel - this means email accounts, emails, databases as well as all files. Alternatively, you can backup the files and restore them here. Copying the files over should work, but you will need to maintain the correct permissions etc. on the files.

Hi, The problem is that you are trying to get it to work before the domain name has propagated. You can do it, but you need to modify things a little. Do you need to get it working before propagation? (you will have to reset it after the domain name has propagated).

Hi, Welcome to the family I would try testing with another FTP client - just to check if it is something about DW MX. I would also try using the IP address instead of the ftp.genuine-performance.com just to check that it isn't a DNS error. If you have set up an FTP account for this then you need to remember the @genuine-performance.com on the username, and you also wouldn't need the public_html. Finally I would reset the password (although if it worked from work, it is unlikely to be that) but check the caps lock etc

Hi Divya, Yes, you can ask at the help desk for us to reset your site to a virgin state - please note this will also clear emails, databases etc. As long as you use standard alphanumerics you should be fine. The reason your can't delete files is typically because the ownership / permissions is not allowing deletion (for example if it was created / uploaded using a PHP script).

Hi Nat, I think MadmanMCP just about covered it all as usual To me part of the difference comes to how you will use the laptop. I am nearly always sat at a desk somewhere, and I don't mind lugging a bit of extra weight, and battery life is not a major consideration for me - hence I have a laptop with a P4 and plenty of power. If you want one with better battery life, lightweight because you want to use it on battery power a lot of the time, then I would look for the mobile (M) processor. Overal, as suggested, go out and have a look at all the specs, have a look at all the things you want (weight, connectivity, battery life, speed....) to find the right one for your requirements.
