  1. (1). Enter your control panel at www.yourdomain/cpanel and click on the "Manage SubDomains" under the listing "Domains". (2). Then enter the name you want for your sub-domain in the box privided there. (3). If you receive the following error when you press "Add" - "ndc: reload command successful DOMAIN.COM could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid ip address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure!" Then to correct this problem: - If this domain was recently created, you must wait for it to propagate. This could take 24 to 72 hours. - If the domain has fully propagated [that means you can access your site by typing in your domain name into your browser], then it could mean that sub-domains aren't setup on this end. Please email us and ask us to turn them on for you. Uploading to your subdomain - Now after you have successfully created your subdomain via your Control Panel, you must upload to that directory. If you created the subdomain of me.domain.com, then the directory of me lives at ******/me. You upload to ******/me. Don't upload to me.******. Accessing your subdomain - After you have uploaded your site to your subdomain, you can then access that site in 2 ways - (1). You can access that site via ******/cats or (2). me.******. You CANNOT access your subdomain via www.me.domain.com. Here the "www" is actually a type of subdomain in itself. So remember to setup all links to subdomains as ******/me or me.******. Uploading to a subdomain ..../me, will have the same Username and Password as your main site. 2. Total Choice Hosting provides you with the ability to not just have an email address, but we also provide two different web-based clients you can check them with! The benefit of web mail is that you may check your e-mail when you are on the road or just don't feel like using a client on your computer like Outlook Express. To access your web mail, please use the following address: http://www.yourTCHdomain.ext/webmail/ From there you will be given two different choices of web mail clients to use, Horde or Squirrel Mail. Here are some details on each client: Horde Horde is a fully functional web mail client with a few extra bells and whistles. Along with all of the standard web mail functions it also provides the user, it also provides: Memos - A place to write quick notes to yourself. Calendar - Displays a calendar who's dates you can edit with your own special events and/or meetings. Tasks - A personal to do list for yourself, to help you stay organized. Squirrel Mail Squirrel Mail is a good balance between features and accessibility. All of the buttons and text within are pretty self explanatory on what they are suppose to do. Both provide great web-based email services for your email accounts. All you need to do is login with your user name and password and you're good to go. 3. So you've purchased your hosting, got it set up, and your domain name has finally fully propagated after 24-72 hours of waiting. You're sitting on the edge of your set to create the be all and end all of web pages and.. now what? First things first, you're going to need to get that page designed. Now you can do this by hand, or by a web page creator like CuteSITE Builder, Dreamweaver or FrontPage. This step is all up to you as the person or persons in charge of your site. Now that you've got a site, how do you get it online? There are several different ways of getting this done, but I'll discuss two with you. Upload via an FTP Client: You can upload your site's content with a variety of different FTP Clients out there. All you need to do is set your preferences, connect, and with some its as easy as just dragging your files from your desktop into the folder of your choosing. Upload via Cpanel's File Manager: You may have already noticed the link inside your Cpanel to a thing called "File Manager". What is it? Well, think of it as a web-based FTP Client. Instead of running something on your machine you can just click the link, and upload your content online. Yes, it really is that simple! When you login to a cpanel based hosting account (or FTP Client) for the first time, you'll probably end up noticing that the public_html and www directories have the same files in them and it will probably end up confusing you as to which one to use. The answer? Whichever one you like. The www directory is not a directory at all, but in reality a symbolic link. It works somewhat like a scifi warp. You click on it and you're warped into the public_html directory. Depending on what you're accessing the files with, it may retain the www name as the directory you're in, or it may show the actualy directory you're in (/public_html). Using either one will work the same way and you can even use the www when using paths in scripts if you like something that's shorter. The basics are now done, and your site is officially online! Look at that, your site to end all sites is now online and the visitors are already starting to roll on in. Good for you!
  4. Yeah, I just checked your site through IE6, Mozilla, and Opera and everything looks fixed! I'm happy to see your so concerned with cross-browswer compatability though, because most don't these days. Site looks great too, by the way.. Keep up the great work!
  5. Check this out from the FAQ and How-To's board on your "public_html" folder. Talks about what it's for, what it does, so on and so forth. Other than that, borfast did a good job in telling you what does what and goes where. If you have anymore questions feel free to post them here or email me mitch@totalchoicehosting.com ! http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...ct=ST&f=20&t=13
  6. http://bradsoft.com/topstyle/ Try this program, I used it for a while under the free version and I thought it was really cool. Only reason I don't use it now is I like to just dive right in and start to hack and slash everything. Should be worth a shot!
  7. Well it's not exactly that you need a "better" one, you just need to correct the errors in the one you have right now.
  8. I don't think the problem is with mozilla, it's more with your stylesheet. You should run it through the CSS Validator to see if you get any warning and/or errors. http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=pathtoyourstylesheet The reason it's important to make your sites work with all the browsers you can is that the average guy or gal off the street might not use IE6, so when they visit your site with mozilla, opera, ect, and see it's all "funny lookin" then they might not stay. Go read this column I wrote up on the elements of design, I think you'll find some good use out of it if you want to continue fixing this problem. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/elements...-of-design.html
  9. I don't belive that it is, but in most cases Image Magik is offered as an alternative, such as with Gallery.
