Happy 4th to everybody!

I think what Rick is trying to say is that if you have in your HTML that the picture is in: http://www.yousite.com/images/yourpicture.jpg Then to be sure that there actually is an image file called "yourpicture.jpg" inside the images folder. Also yes, capitalization can hinder the abilities of it being shown up. Make sure your folders, files and paths all reflect "lower-cased" paths.

Yeah, this will demand some CSS as far as I know to take place. >body { margin:0px; } I belive that will be the line of CSS you'll need to add to your stylesheet.

Not a problem! Also, while your searching around you might take a look at hotscripts.com as well, they have plenty of goodies over there as well.

Is Knoppix really a good place to start in your opinions? I was looking at it from TuxCDs.com and got to say it sounds nice, and might be the best way to slowly get my foot in the Linux world..

Well alot of this may depend on the other company, I'd read through all their small print seeing about any legalities you may have missed, but I'd say you should be able to either transfer or register it with us with little to no problem at all!

Yeah, I really like Firebird as well, Mozilla kinda turned me off at first just because of a few familier touches of IE I was used to, but Firebird has almost made up for them. The only thing keeping Firebird and/or Mozilla from becoming my default browswer is that fact that most my friends' sites aren't optimized to work with any browser and faster on screen performance. I still recomend Firebird though for anybody who tried Mozilla at first and decided they didn't like the feel of it, it's worth the second look, I promise! Thumbs Up

Well there's no real "rules" actually. Default System Setting Just your plan ol' index, it'll list all the files and folders inside this folder as long as you don't have an "index.html" or .php or .htm or... well you get the point No Indexes Turns off the above settings, so when you try to just put in the path for the folder, you see a message that says you dont have access to this data. Standard Indexing (text only) Fancying Indexing (graphics) These are both indexes that are just slightly diffrent, but still gives anybody access to the data inside the folder. It's a good point to bring up that if it ends up screwing up your stuff (like say your running phpnuke or moveabletype) then just change it back to what it was before. I've found it pretty easy to go back and forth between them. Hope this helps a little bit more!
-
I have my moveable type folder set to "no indexes" and it seems to work alright for me. All you got to watch out for is make sure you don't turn indexes off for a folder you might really need an index for!

I got the same darn email too yesterday. Thankfully I wasn't so tired that I didn't catch it in time, and I eleminated the problem. Good to keep everybody informed though! Thumbs Up

No mater how hard you think about it, there will always be somebody somewhere who thinks installing Bonzi Buddy is a good idea. Now, I'm in a position to where I have to go to many webpages all day long, and so I have no way around it. If you choose to use the internet, sooner or later you're going to run into this problem some-place and some-ware. That's why programs like Ad-Aware or Spybot are so helpful, because think of it as owning a house, and you get infested with roaches. Ad-Aware and/or Spybot clean out the crap, and then your left good to go. There's no way you can 100% protect yourself if you want to enjoy yourself online. Trying to stay clean of all these things all the time, 24 hours a day would be like the crazy old man that lives on the corner obbessing that house is filled with millions of germs that are plotting against him. My words of advice are enjoy what you can, and learn from your mistakes online. You find a program or site that's up to no good? Clean it out, and don't go there again. Then spread the word to your friends, and help us all out a little.
