I just want to offer my thanks as well, since I was one of the ones helping to clean up the posts as well. Thanks to those of you who reported the posts as soon as they were posted, we were able to catch this guy that much quicker. Job well done guys and gals! Thumbs Up

Let me see if I can clarify this some using the above example. Say I bought www.keeler.com and wanted to give each one of my family members their own sub-domain. mom.keeler.com dad.keeler.com sister.keeler.com What you can do: If the website as a whole is about your family, and want to say profile all your close relatives with their stats, likes, dislike or something to that effect that would be okay. This is okay because its a "whole" in the part of the site. It's like using the sub-domain name forums.keeler.com to lead to the forums section of my site. That's not its own seperate enity, it's just a segment of the big picture. What you can NOT do: Alright using the same example, say Mom wanted to have on her subdomain focused on her selling pocket lint on E-bay (remember these are JUST examples people! I promise my mother doesn't do this...) and my sister wanted to have her subdomain all about the national hot rod association her her love for it. As you can see these topics DON'T have anything to do with the generic point of www.keeler.com, and so this would be breaking the Acceptable Use Policy. So there you have it, hope this helps explain this a little bit more, since it's a question that comes up a lot around here it seems.

Alright, I always got to check and since you said it would be HIS site, that's what made me a little caucious. Now that we got that past us, I'm not sure if I understand where your problem is. You sound like you pretty much know how to get the subdomain set up so where is the problem?

Alright your problem gives me a worry, because it sounds like your hosting other people's sites on your domain which is against the Acceptable Use Policy.

Is this a shameless plug?!? Definately there are more elements of design and these aren't in any order through. These three are the three most important though, in my humble "customer directing" opinion. This sparks another idea, maybe I'll create a special forum for feedback on my columns? Hmmm.... Naughty

Myself and Head Guru have talked about this for a while, since I have a little background in journalism. What would you all say if I started writting a weekly column for the site? Good idea? Bad idea? I've spent 5 years in the journalism field, and have been around the internet, computers, and design even longer than that. I want to be able to create something that is entertaining, fun, and informative for us all. Topics we've been throwing around the last few weeks have even included interviewing a few 'net celebrities and even some of our more popular clients around here! A while back I posted an example of my work on the HTML and CSS forum. Here's a link back just in case you didn't see it the first time. No reason to do it through, if you don't want to see it or read it, so let me know what you think! Thumbs Up

Also, as far as the complaints on the colors, the default "Total Choice" colors are gold and blue so that's what I was going for with using those colors.

Well, in my own reasonable defence I did state that this would be a project that might span a few days. I'm only one man! So please let me know what you all think, from the Head Guru to the newest client and I'll either keep on working on this or we can switch back over to the regular ol' default Invision Board skin.

Just in case anybody else was wondering, we ARE sticking with invisionboard as the default TCH forums.

Jasc makes a good product, so I don't really mind shelling out a few bucks for their stuff. I've been more than happy with Paint Shop Pro 7, since I'm an artist as well. I was taught on it, so it's a little easier than battling through the Gimp.

The only problem with any kind of "white list" based system is that something somebody else thinks is spam, I might not think it's spam. I'm pretty happy with the power of Spam Assassin right now. That's my 2 cents!

Best advice I can give you is if you don't know what it does, then don't delete it! public_html is the folder where your site is stored, and www is a shortcut to the public_html folder. mail is where your email stuff is kept. tmp is where temporary files are kept. Some of the other files and folders have to do with CPanel things. Second bit of advice I can give you is just ignore them. I wouldn't go around deleting folders that are there by default, or you might be paying a visit to technical support a little earlier than expected.

I've been working the last few hours on getting the forum's basic look updated. So far I've got many of the icons done, as you have probably noticed, and in the next few comming days more will be changing! So stay tuned for now, and I'll try to keep this thread updated with my progess!
