Squirrelmail - Login Alias Plugin
KevinW replied to silverduck's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Have you tried posting to the SquirrelMail user forum? -kw -
BTW -- Invision does offer a transfer service for $45 -- if your board on Lycos was also Invision - check it out at: http://www.invisionboard.com/support.cgi -kw
-
T-4-L--- Check at the Invision Web Site and their company forums. Perhaps you can either find someone who has moved a Lycos based forum over to Invision, or will find someone who will do it for the right price ($$$). Good luck! kw

Try going to the SquirrelMail web site for some possible ideas. Here's the link to their Customizing SquirrelMail page. Whoops --- I dug a little more and found the actual page you want --- http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/Emb...uirrelMailLogin HTH! kw

I believe the problem is that using such an include file requires that the actual web page be renamed from .htm(l) to .shtm(l). But that's just off the top of my head. Can someone verify this? -kw

Ty, I've add a link about iSearch to the TCH Help web site - click here -kw

I can't help you with your password, although someone at TCH ademin I'm sure can do something for you. But it does provide a good "warning" to all to either maintain a printed list of userids and passwords that can stored away in a lockbox or filing cabinet -or- do regular backs up. <ON SOAPBOX> Back in the days of DOS, a complete application, like Wordperfect 5.1, could easily fit on a single diskette. Now days, we have computers with 80GB of disk space. Software comes on multiple CD's or (DVD's) - we are accumulating more, saving more, connecting more - and relying more - on our computers. Isn't it about time that if the data we maintain on our PC's is so valuable to us that we cannot afford to lose it, that people start investing in reliable data backup measures? Now, I do computer work for a living, so I have a server at home, along with 5 computers, and I run a tape backup every night. And not just a backup of data that has changed - but a full backup - every night. But even home users could go online to EBay and purchase a reliable DDS tape drive and run regular backs uof their systems. I saqy tape backup, only because I personally still do not think that CD/DVD backups should constitute a first level backup. I don't mind using them as a secondary backup of specific data files - but not a full backup of a system. <OFF SOAPBOX> -kw

I believe that what you want to do is in violation of TCH's Acceptable Use policy. However, it can be done by signing up for a reseller account. You can then provide your customers with their own web space under your reseller account. -kw

I've added the Looking for Googlebot info to the TCH Help web site, as well - click here. Thanks for taking the time to write it! -kw

OK, so it's my birthday and I'm old --- so someone tell me this -- how does one know that Google just scanned your site, or how many pages they scanned? -kw

TCH provides some info on installing SquirrelMail - click here A possible alternative, especially when traveling, is Mail2Web - click here -kw

You may want to drop a help desk ticket so that someone to take a look at it. -kw

I've added this information to the TCH Help Web site - in both the FAQ and CPanel sections of the site. -kw

Ouch! Good catch, Rick. -kw

According to the ReadMe file that comes with the product: "Transfer the files and directories to the root of your web site retaining the directory structure in the zip file." So, the answer is 'No, you should NOT install it in the cgi-bin directory!' Unzip the product on your PC, which creates a cgi-search sub directory on your computer. Use an FTP utility to upload the entire cgi-search subdirectory to the root (public_html) of your TCH web site. -kw

KevinW replied to Mav2u's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Click here to go to the TCH Help page with a link to learn how to create a custom error page. Click here to view the sparse CPanel documentation on the subject! -kw -
All my PERL scripts contain the following first line: #!/usr/local/bin/perl -kw

OK, the link for the CPanel Test Drive has been fixed on the TCH Help Web site. I have also added it to the FAQ page. -kw

Glad to hear it's working! -kw

Bilgin, Please check our TCH Help Site - Email Pages for sopme ideas. Biggest problem often? Outside of your admin account, account names for all user's emails will be the same as the full email address. So, if John' Doe's email address is jdoe@mysite.com, then the account name is also jdoe@mysite.com and NOT just jdoe!\ -kw

Thanks -- such information is always appreciated! -kw

Lianna and others: FYI, go to the TCH Help Web site we have a link in the middle of the home page for 'Current versions of installed software'. This, too, indicates that we are on CPanel version 6. -kw
