I would suggest you FTP in and use a package where you can highlight them. If you have the feature on, you can use IE to do it. Jim

Hi, Login to cPanel and then click on "File manager". This will show you the folders from the highest level. One of these will be called Public_Html. Its here that all the files goes. If you use something like WS_FTP95 package or any other ftp package (you can even do it via IE if you have the FTP function on) is to type in ftp.yourhostname.com and provide your cpanel name and password for user name and password. Let in log in and you shall see the required public_html folder you need. Its difficult to stop public access so i suggest one of these options: I) Edit your .htacesss file II|) Create a sub domain. Use this for your web site testing until your reading to transfer it to the main one. This means you can have a intro page still on your main site to tell vistors to come back soon. Hope this helps. Let us know if you still having problem! Jim

Help Sending Email On Pegasus
TCH-JimE replied to roadtoretire's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Cheryl, Just a quick question, who is your ISP? Sending but unable to recieve suggests that you can authenticate ok (just make sure you have no extra spaces, dots or commas in your outgoing) You may try doing the same in outlook express with a new dummy email account. If you have the same problem, then I suspect your ISP is blocking a port Let us know how you are getting on! Jim -
Hi, @ Dave If your new to phpnuke and have time to play, create a subdomain where you can upload it all too. Then you can sit there and play around with it, without damaging your site. Did you successfully upload it ok? There should be some documentation either within the download itself, or from the website where you downloaded it. @ Sodbayer Import email? Are you saying you want to foward the email from your lycos account to your domain? Or are you saying you want to check your lycos email from your domain name? Both require details from lycos Jim

Cheryl, Drop a ticket to the help desk explaining all and I believe they should be able to do this for you. Unless you done it already of course Jim

Hi, All sites need a theme or an useful purpose for use in order to make it sucessful. Examples could include www.microsoft.com, www.jennicam.org, www.tek-tips.com, www.players-society.com. Each one has a purpose and a reason for having a web site, and in my mind, thats what makes people come back to it. My small humble site only worked because my promotion was to post on a board which I know that thousands of people read and since it was connected to my hobby, i wasn't blantanly advertising it either. Within a few months, some extra coding (meta tags), some submission to site engines and a few useful banners placed on other peoples sites, my site is now a rather good success (well IMHO anyway, i better shut up before my head explodes!) Also remember to have fresh content, have it updated regularly and to make sure all links work. With a bit of "word of mouth" you be surprised how good your site can become! Jim P.S. Adding nuke is a good chance to get your hands dirty with some coding, it may look a nightmare when you first start, but persist and nuke can be fun and easy to use. Let us know how you get on!

Hi, Whilst not a TCH member, i believe the answer is yes! Long as they pass the legal agreements, you can have as many "accounts" as you like with TCH. Running out of servers? Don't think so for a time yet! Jim

Is It Possible To Use Web Protect On Public_html?
TCH-JimE replied to BuickStreet's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi, You might be able to tinker with your .htaccesss file. Look up on google about authentication and .htaccess. Also try this link: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/htaccess.html#auth Jim -
Is It Possible To Use Web Protect On Public_html?
TCH-JimE replied to BuickStreet's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi, Actually you will need to click on webprotect before selecting the folder. Since the public html folder is no there, and you can not naviagate higher, i would guess the answer to be no. Jim -
Hi, Changing a CHMOD you need to go into your file manger in CPANEL and select the file you want. Then in the right of the window, you will see you have the ability to change the permissions of the file. Click on this and edit the number to the required figure. Jim

Hi, I believe this runs on a Windows 2000 server. TCH uses linux and apache servers so this will not be possible. You will need a member of TCH to confirm this though Jim

TCH-JimE replied to adoute's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi, I can see both sites no problem. Uk side, on a pipex ISP broadband connection. Drop a help ticket into support, but I believe the problem could be your ISP and not TCH. Jim -
Oooo I see what you mean, I swear it was there a while a go! Illana do you know anything about this? Jim P.S. PHPBB is much easier though!

Hi, I have no idea, but I am guessing you will have to hunt either thorugh admin to change the font, or through the files to find the bit which controls the CSS bit Jim
