  1. Can I import phpbb db into Invision BB? I'd like to try them both and let the users decide, but first I want to see it with all my topics and users and posts in Invision. Is there a way or a tool?
  2. All solved - thanks Bill.
  3. We managed to fix it by resetting my username and password (TCH end). It claims to have created the new (second) forum ok and the folder gets created and is full but when I go there on the web - nothing. To answer your question, no it doesn't seem to create a new db. I have started another thread because after we fixed it I tried creating a second forum again and it broke the first forum again. The forum is actually broken as I type this and I want to learn what I am doing wrong so I can stop doing it! The new thread is here... http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...?showtopic=6229
  4. Hi again. I have a (PhPBB) forum at /forum. If I try to install a second forum at /forum2 it corrupts the password on the first forum (bringing the entire first forum down along with it!) and then I have to wait for the support team to recreate my account. Also, when I go to the new forum locations nothing appears as if there is no such page. What's going on here? Am I not allowed to have two (or more) forums? Is there a way I can reset my password without having to raise a helpdesk ticket?
  5. Hi, please help if you can. I've been without a forum for 24 hours and I'm really starting to panic. Here is what is happening: I was a bit nervous about trying mods on a live forum so I decided to create another forum and practice new mods, importing, exporting...etc on it. The new BB creation at /forumtest failed. (Old forum is in /forum and the new one was suppose to go in /forumtest). Now when I go to see my forum all I get is this error. Quote: forum url = http://www.buickstreet.com/forum/ I have a db backup from a few days ago which will be ok to use. Any help is appreciated while I search for what I did wrong. Thanks
  6. I've changed the cookie domain to .buickstreet.com and it didn't help. What should the cookie path be? It is currently set to --> / (a forward slash). http://www.xmbforum.com/ offers no help at all.
  7. Thanks, All good suggestions which I will try tonight and let you know if it works.
  8. Thanks Mitch, I'll have a look. Happens every time I log in. If anyone wants to give it a try so we can see if it's a common fault by all means visit http://www.buickstreet.com/forum
  9. Hi. Just decided that I need a bulletin board and have found that setting it up was fairly easy and straight forward. Howvere, I am having a problem logging into it. I enter my username (as the administrator it's my cpanel name and login by default) but every time I try to log in it thinks for a little while then sends me to an error page (the standard "Cannot Find Server" error page) which has this address http://www.buickstreet.com/forum/login.php...aa00929b97f214b . If I press my back button it will take me back to the forum but I see that I'm not logged in but if I refresh the page then I find that I have in fact been logged in. This happens both at work (behind a firewall) and at home (no firewall) and happens every time without fail. Any ideas why this might be happening? I'd like to fix it before I go live with this forum. Thanks.
  10. Any ideas on how I can go about protecting our site with a password without having to create a folder and adding to the URL? I want toleave the home page on the root directory - if you know what I mean?
  11. Hi, I would like to password protect my entire site by using web protect. My goal is to allow only staff and developers access to the site while it's being built. I'd like to do this by using web protect on public_html but when I click on the link next to the icon which says 'current folder' it does not give me the lock with the check box that I was expecting. Isn't public_html protectable?
