  1. You have lots of Extras in your .conf, Bruce -- and I don't even have an Extras section in my (stock) .conf file. So for posterity, append this to the bottom of your conf file -- and watch for a line wrap if you copy/paste from here on the line that has the (.pdf)|//foo... "stuff" > LoadPlugin="geoipfree" The above is the last line of my existing .conf file and below is what I appended. > #----------------------------------------------------------------------------- # EXTRA SECTIONS #----------------------------------------------------------------------------- # To do: Ideally parameterize from not page list. ExtraSectionName1="Downloads (diff, doc, pdf, rtf,sh,tgz, zip) - Top 10" ExtraSectionCodeFilter1="200 304" ExtraSectionCondition1="URL,(.*((\.diff)|(\.doc)|(\.pdf)|(\.rtf)|(\.sh)|(\.tgz)|(\.zip)))" ExtraSectionFirstColumnTitle1="Download" ExtraSectionFirstColumnValues1="URL,(.*)" ExtraSectionFirstColumnFormat1="%s" ExtraSectionStatTypes1=HBL ExtraSectionAddAverageRow1=0 ExtraSectionAddSumRow1=1 MaxNbOfExtra1=10 MinHitExtra1=1
  2. Oooops, googled a little off the TCH site and found it..... in /tmp
  3. Bruce, in what directory would I create the Awstats.yourTCHdomain.conf? (I just looked through all of my directories and cannot find an existing one). Also, permissions? Thanks!! TC
  4. I am putting a document on a server that people will click to download (from inside a PDF). I'd like to see who downloaded the file, so I've turned to Awstats, but: - the file is a PDF and there isn't a "PDF" category in the file listing (downloading a bigger PDF from a link embedded in a brief PDF). - it isn't clear whether the file is tracked if it is "directly addressed" Can anyone help shed some light on this? I tried RTFM for Awstats but can't stay awake doing so... Thanks, TC Edited to make clear that downloadable doc is a pdf
  5. Has anyone tried Alfresco for CMS? Any luck installing it?
  6. Poppy, the popular name for this is a Joe job. It has become rampant on my accounts recently, too -- for no apparent reason.
  7. I've used a wide-open domain (several) for years, with very few spam making it past spam assassin. Convenience is so nice, and the ability to filter those who go "bad" is fun. That said, it is literally in the last few weeks that Joe jobbing has reached extremes, and robbed me of this otherwise perfectly happy experience. If we had more control over Spam Assasin, I could set up a user rule to nuke the "Failed Delivery" messages. As for challenge / response, I've used mailblocks in the past and found it to be adequate, but require some advance planning when sending to a new address.
  8. Gang, I've got a dozen email accounts on my domain, and I use _________@**** indiscriminately (have for years). That means blahblah@**** hits my default address and therefore goes into my main mailbox. I've loved this: no incremental time to create a new address for a new site. Filter when one of those starts spamming me. I've gotten very, very little spam by doing this over the years. Nothing that spamassassin couldn't handle. However, over the past month, I've been getting joe jobbed to the tune of 400 emails a day. I could create a bunch of real forwarders and shut off my default. Trouble is that it would be a hundred of forwarders (and I'm sure I'd forget some). I could also set up some filters to fail the bounces that occur, but then if my mail bounces, I'll never find out. Any other ideas? Any good challenge / response (server based) software I could put in place (wanted to do this for years)? Any one else getting mega joe jobbed recently? Thanks all! TC
  9. trying to find a way to forward a trimmed email to my cell phone. trimming is essential, as a long email just clogs the pipes. There is a good discussion here about filtering versus forwarding and how to get php to play nice. And lots of treo junkies have created utilities for forwarding email to sms, all of which are more complex than my limited programming IQ can handle. here is a repository. So, has anyone developed a shareable script that can grab the first x characters of an email and forward to a cell phone? If so, please share? Thanks, TC
  10. Thomas, I redirect the spam from all accounts on a domain to a spambox, using filtering rules. Once there, a lucky user can cull through the messages to see if there are any that aren't actually spam. The people who are supposed to be checking those boxes aren't deleting messages, so the boxes are filling up. I've found a few scripts to handle this: - archivemail (very full-featured, but requires root to install) - trash_monkey (working with this one, but not behaving at the moment) - expire_spamboxes But none of them is as easy ot install as my limited bandwidth could handle. Thanks, Todd
  11. I'm concerned that in the header of every message sent from mailman to a list, there is an url for the mailing list -- actually two: subscribe and unsubscribe. This public html page gives people some opportunity to try to join a list that I would like to keep private. 1. Is there any way to remove this information from the default headers? Note: I am not talking about the HTML tags that are user-configurable, but rather the default header info about the lists that goes out in every email sent. Since this is a private list, and each member knows quite well how to unsubscribe, this info is not necessary -- and its inclusion in emails creates the opportunity for many people to try to join the list. 2. How can I use .htaccess (cpanel version...) to make the "public" mailman page for a list require username / password? Note that I would nomally use cpanel to do this, but... the html page associated with a list is somehow redirected in a way I don't understand -- the path to the right of the slash after my domain.com does not exist. Hence, there must be some global redirect at the server level?... Thanks! Todd
  12. I'm now sending all spam on my domains to a spambox (one for each domain). People are *supposed* to check and delete email from this box, but no one does, really. Since no one is deleting mail in these boxes, it is piling up -- 8000 messages in one such box. Can anyone recommend a script or utility that can automatically (cron job) delete spam that is older than n days? I've seen archivemail at sourceforge, but haven't read much on it. If no one has suggestions, this may be my next experiment. Thanks, Todd
  13. Andy, I had meant to do so, but neglected. Here are the headers. Some interesting things: 1. I put a weight of 4 on Bayes99, so I'm surprised that this message only gets to 4.2 points in total. 2. DRUGS_ERECTILE is not a standard SpamAssassin 3.x test -- see http://spamassassin.apache.org/tests_3_0_x.html. Is this a home-rolled test? 3. Notice that none of my tests (above) is referenced in the header. Reinforces my point #1 in my initial post.
