Hi, If you mean that you have your own site at www.mysite.com but then give your friend yourfriendsite.mysite.com then I think this goes againest TCH agreements as it has two owners (and hence need a reseller account!) but you would need a proper answer from a staff member for that. You certaintley could not point a different domain name to it. Jim

Helpdesk Ticket, How Long Does That Take?

Freddy, I am sure TCH will be attending your post asap. Being a tech guy myself for my university I know at times someone can get left behind but its never out of forgetfullness or because support can't be bothered and as soon as I find them, they often get special treatment! In regards to your problem, do you have any backup what so ever of your site? James -
I can't say I have used either, but you can always upload both on your site (i think?) and give them both a try. I would guess that Postnuke would be better but thats just by looking at the gubbinz at www.postnuke.com Jim

Hi, In your instance, you can't sue the cop, so I see your point, although it would be intresting to see if you could. In the UK there is a get out clause for cops but not sure of stateside law. I was just curious. I am one of thoose people who likes to work out every possible deviation and problem which can arise from situations and hence how to solve it.. Maybe I just need lay off the coffee hehe. The cases I am referring to are ISPs that have been forced to give up names of people who have downloaded MP3s, and some sites have been forced to close down sites due to illegal content. Whilst the act of downloading is not illegal, the storage of them would be, hence my thought, but as you say, the above bits mean that TCH can not be held responisble as far as i can see. Jim

All I was meaning was if one person was hosting something illegal and you failed to spot it before the lawyers descended on you, where does TCH stand? Just curious after recent law debates in the states Jim
-
It actually made me read the CPANEL docs to see work out how to solve it. Glad i could be assistance. Off topic, where does TCH stand with law suits and MP3's? Just out of curoisity? james

Ignore, my comp crashed shortley afterwards. Off to give the donkey another carrot! James
-
Hi, I suggest you put in a ticket to support and the tech team should be able to sort you out Jim
-
Hi, Oh I see, my apologies, I thought you where trying to get a new domain name at the same time. Need more coffee! Jim
-
Bill, How can the name be brought if its all registered? Jim
-
Hi, Going to that address reveals a website. The WHOIS also shows it has been brought back on the 7th of Feburary this year and it is not hosted on TCH from that record. This may be the reason why you can not buy it for. James
-
Its free. To download, from the above link, you need to become a member. If you want version 6.0 you can download it from here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/phpnuke/ Jim

Hello Katie, Happy birthday for when it comes! I just had my birthday (ok so I am now 24 but still a kid at heart!) If you can do geocities and anglefire, you will find learning things like FTP just as simple, if not easier then there system. (FTP is very easy to get to grips with) Its true to say that TCH and other web hosters are more powerful but highly more customerisible then geocities and angelfire, and with the handy CPANEL you should not have any difficulties in getting to grips with it all, espically as geocites and angelfire are quite complicated!. You can always test the CPANEL out too. Of course you can always post in these forums where many people from both TCH and the outside world will be able to help and offer suggestions. Not being a member of TCH, i unable to help you with the billing side. Hopefully someone else can help there. Good luck Jim

Basically say I have an email address: me@mydotadress.com What the unrouted email option does is that if someone sent an email to an email address like Docterwho@mydotaddress.com but this address does not exist, it will "reroute" the email to an specified address that does exist. In this case, i suggest you set up an address called: spam@mydotaddress.com and redirect all email that is not reconised there. Then its just a simple case of checking it every so often and pressing delete. Jim
