It should be accurate. It starts timing from the moment a visitor enters your site to when they leave. If I click a link to your site the time starts. When I click a link or type a URL in my browser to leave the time stops. The only time this does not count is if I visit your site at 11:58 in the evening and leave 5 minutes later. AWStats can not calculate that because of the date rollover.

Aol And Setting Up Pop3 For Outlook
TCH-Rob replied to karmacriminal's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Here are some options that may help for AOL and sending mail from Outlook or OE. This was last updated Aug 23rd of this year. Might be worth it to give it a try. You can also try setting your SMTP to one of these za.mx.aol.com, zb.mx.aol.com, or zc.mx.aol.com. I cant say for sure if it will work as I do not have AOL but it is one setting and takes a minute to set up or change. Set your incoming to whatever your domain email address is and let me know. -
Thanks Mike, I spit Pepsi on my monitor. What's your address? I am sending you the bill.

Nope, you're not stupid. I have done ISP tech support for years and every now and again I would get a call that sounded like a specific issue and I would start off in that direction only to realize it was a simple little thing that was causing the problem. Just last night I was wondering why I could only save images from the web as .bmp files. The images were .jpg but it wasn't offered in my drop down menu. After 2 minutes on Google I found a suggestion to clear my cache. Worked perfectly after that. I blame it on age but I know I am just so used to having major issues that I tend to overlook the small things.

I have seen this before. In the case I had seen it wasnt an issue with form mail or a virus. The offending email was comming from a spammer that was using fake email addresses with a domain that they didnt own to hide the fact of where it was comming from. I do not know if that is the case here but we should be able to tell from the full header where it is comming from and see what to do from there.

Tom, Although I am not The guru for this, I would have you rest assured that you can do this. Just submit a help desk ticket and we can get you taken care of. I will let another guru answer but I think you can wait until you get your name before submitting it in case your domain name is gone when you go to buy it.

Good post Mitch. I just deleted 42000 emails from my wifes OE. I have to do it about every month. I wish there was a client that would automatically delete email at a set period of time.

Where did you register your domain name? What is your domain name as well?

Kyler, Thanks for the kind words and a belated welcome home. Thumbs Up

Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
TCH-Rob replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Richard, Here is what to expect now. In 48 to 72 hours you will get an email from your losing registrar, register.com. Be on the lookout, many times it looks like a sales pitch at first. Read everything that comes from them all they way to the bottom. You get up to 72 hours to respond and many registrars hope you think the mail is spam so you delete it and the transfer will expire. After you respond the losing registrar will notify the registry of the change and then it will be handed over to TCH's registrar for completion. Please pay close attention to all email you get over the next week. -
Good job Rick Congratulations

Mike, Big congrats. I am glad you will "E" here full time. I think the robot slipped a gear. I say it was a great choice.

Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
TCH-Rob replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Llama, It depends on how long it has been expired really. You get a few chances to get things caught up I believe. I do believe there are a few instances that on the day after expiration the page is parked then and there. I have also seen where they will make 3 attempts at billing the name and then it is parked. No matter what though, if it is parked you will have to wait the 72 hours because the name servers are changed. That is where the 72 hours comes in. Take note, just because it is the day after or the week after your domain has expired doesn't mean that you can pay up and get the expiration to be a year from the time you renewed. It will be from the date of expiration. Hope that clears things up. Richard, Get your domain unlocked? -
Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
TCH-Rob replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
With most registrars you should be able to log into your account with them and unlock it. TCH even has the option in the accounts here. I would log into your account or contact your registrar and have them assist in getting it unlocked. Let me know what happens. -
Angie, I would be happy to help any way I can. Just shoot the question and I will get you whatever help I can. Just to let you know, I uploaded the zip to my site and unpacked it from there. I used the install file it came with and just inserted the information it asked me.

Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
TCH-Rob replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Ahem ....cracking knuckles..... Though this may not have been a part of the question at hand, the transfer would only have worked if you had transfered the domain at least 10 days before it had expired. After a domain expires it will go into a grace period with the current registrar. You have3 two chopices, renew or wait. If you wait out the grace period (30 days or so depending on the registrar) and it is a .com or .net then it hits a redemption period. This is about 30 days, you can get it back but at an inflated price. Then it is released to the wild. SHould you have renewed after the expiration most registrars will require you to wait at least 60 days before you can transfer the domain to another registrar. Just extra info for those that might want to know. -
Thats why if you are going to do it, do it right. All we need is a short EMP and Bill goes nappy time.
