Chuck, I can not answer the all or nothing question but I can say that the outgoing protection would be useless for me. My cable modem provider will not allow me to use any other outgoing server but theirs. Thus I would get nothing from it and could infect all my friends in the process. Unfortunately as in most things (IMHO) you have to give up some small things as a single individual for the good of the whole. Kind of like a family, no?

I spent 6 years doing tech support for a few ISP's. In that time I can say a majority of our "normal" users did not have the latest browser. Most could not upgrade if they knew how. I would venture to say that one should shoot for IE 5.0 at the least. I say this as 72% come from IE6 on my site. As my site gets more popular, that may decline. In my case I am trying to get customers so it is most important to serve as many as possible. WHen working in the Registrar/hosting field I did notice many of those working on NPO or church sites didnt do as many upgrades other users and were running older software. This is going to be a judgement call really. My answer, appeal to as many as possible. As a computer junkie I say upgrade or fade away.

If I am reading this correct then no. Each separate domain has to have its own account, since you arent parking or using subdomains. Your best bet would be a reseller package. Unless you were using 3 of the $4 plans but then you sacrifice ease of management over them by having separate Control Panels. Also from this thread read the post from HG Although you dont want to use subdomains that quote I think is the answer to your question. Please clarify if I am wrong in reading your question.

Josh, Dave is right about the shared SSL, you can have the free version but it will look like the example given. Not only that but many customers will get a security warning as well, that will scare a good number of paying customers off. This is one case where if you are going to do it, do it right the first time. Get an SSL cert that belongs to you, it will pay for itself.

At home I have had no email try to come through with those attachments. At work, Dept of Education, we have had a good number make it without the payload. I would give a guess of about 900 or so.

Bill and the gang, (kinda sounds like a music group) I just wanted to say thanks. I sent my request via support ticket for getting my SSL cert installed. It didnt seem long and I got a reply stating it was being escalated. I was tired so I went to bed, when I awoke I had a notification it was finished. My site now takes customers to a secure page to complete the order. I have tested it and it works without flaw. You guys are great and Rock Sign. Thanks again!

Something to consider as well. Just because you get an email from someone you know with an attachment dosnt mean its safe. Notice the language of the email or attachment. My mom is a total novice with a computer, if I got an email from her with the subject of or an attachment titled "Check this out" I would know she didnt intend to send it. She would never use that phrase. If you are unsure, reply and ask if they meant to send it.

No wonder I have had as many visitors in the past 13 days as I have in the last month and last month was twice as much as I have ever had. Mitch, In the choices for a .us you need to be a resident or a permanent citizen of the US. It can be used for profit, non-profit, personal, govt or educational. If it is a company it must be in, do business in or have an office in the US. I am sure you could get by that part but they were a bit picky at the registrar I worked at. Karen, I do not know about the rest but my site works with and without the www. I believe the CName records are set up to point so your www subdomain points to the IP address your account is hosted on. The non www domain = the IP when your account is created. You shouldnt have to use mod_rewrite.

Well, .wav is out of the question unless it is only a few seconds of sound. Wou could use .mp3 or .ram and get good compression out of a longer file. Remember, the smaller the file the less bandwidth used for each download. You either own or have permission to use the sound file correct?

I dont know about the NetPBM but I think if you move over you will truly be happy here. Since you have several accounts I would look into getting a resellers package so you can maintain it easier.
