  1. Looks to me that Horde's configuration file is at the server level, not the individual web site level. Anyone else? -kw
  2. BTW, TCH does have some detail instructions (click here) for setting up Outlook/OE on the TCH Help Web Site. We also have a movie tutorial on setting up Outlook Express (click here) on the TCH Help Web site as well. HTH! kw
  3. Yes, you can set up all your email addresses prior to your domain name/DNS nameserver propogating the Internet, since all that is done via cPanel. As noted, you will not be able to use any PC client email to retrieve email until the DNS links do propogate. And, in fact that should be the way it works: 1. You have a web site and email accounts currently on web site #1 2. You sign up with TCH for a new web site (#2) 3. You go ahead and republish your web site and setup your email accounts on the new web site (#2) 4. Once everything looks "good to go", you can then go to your domain name provider and request that the DNS nameservers be updated to point to your TCH location. That way, you should not lose any visitors to your web site, nor email for your users/customers. -kw
  4. Yes, I will be writing some detail instructions, since I did this as a test prior to installing it for one of my customers. My wife's web site is always the guniea pig for my testing! Actually, once you do understand "what" they want, and how to enter it, it's not bad - but I felt like a computer virgin trying to make this work instead of someone who's been doing this for 30 years! -kw
  5. On my "to do" list for several weeks now, I've had marked to install the Gallery Photo Project, a PHP based photo album interface for my wife's web site. Well it actually took me three attempts over two evenings to finally get it up and running to where I could post any pictures at all! I must have run the configure.php script a dozen times. Finally a light dawned on me (duhh!) and realized some important little tidbits that were required. Their instructions assume you know already know there software! Anyway, this is merely a heads up that if you are interested in installing Gallery yourself, perhaps by this weekend I will have updated the TCH Help Web Site with more straightforward instructions! Take a look at my first attempt -- some photos from last year's vacation -- Gallery example -kw You can see my first trial, posting some quick photos of our vacation last year.
  6. I'd be happy to try to install v-mail myself and see what happens - but chances are I cannopt get to it until Wed. Anyone else have time to look into it? -kw
  7. In general, web mail should not be left on the web host for an extended period, but downloaded to your computer. By default, most PC based email clients are configured to download incoming mail, and then delete it from the web server. Is it possible that's all that has happened? Horde mail, will prompt you every month whether to do file maintenance on your email boxes. -kw
  8. Disclaimers for what? web pages? email? something else? -kw
  9. These instructions are also posted on the TCH Help Web site -- click here to view -kw
  10. thanks for the post! -kw

    Ssh

ssh is not provided, by default, to TCH users. If you have a legitimate need for SSH put your request in writing to TCH's support desk. TCH provides NeoMail and Horde for web browser access to mail accounts. Web mail access requires access to port 2095, which may be blocked by some company's firewall. Read more about SSH and WebMail at the TCH Help Web Site. -kw
  12. Thanks! kw
  13. A mind is a terrible thing to lose ... 'cause then you can't remember the good times ... or the bad times ... or even the New York Times! :-) kw
  14. /usr/bin/convert
  15. Information and an example of using the Form Mail that comes with TCH's cPanel can be found at the TCH Help Web site - click here! -kw
  16. The CPanel page of the TCH Help Web site has the same link now! -kw
  17. This automated login script is now implemented and accessible from the home page of the TCH Help Web Site! Enjoy! -kw
  18. The FTP manager is good for occassional file management. TCH provides instructions and movie tutorials on it's TCH Help Web Site on using some of the more common FTP utilities. We also have a list of FTP utilities. SmartFTP is a free one that is used by many TCH users. Click here for more info! -kw
  19. What is your goal? To move your files from one web site to another? or something else? -kw
  20. Which mail form are you using? -kw

  23. Potter, The script your refer to (from www.irricomp.com) is one of my web sites. The script is one that the Head Guru posted, and which is also posted in the TCH Help Web site at the following link: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id35.htm -kw
  24. Mike, I guess we need a further clarification to make sure that the TCH Help Web site is accurate. Obviously I have never bought an SSL certificate, or else I would know the answers already! 1. Whether someone buys an SSL certificate on their own, or gets on thru TCH for $85, what they are getting is a SSL certificate that is valid for one year. Correct? 2. Then, they will need to renew that certificate each year (renewing it thru whomever they intially obtained the SSL certificate). Correct? 3. If ordering thru TCH, is this renewal automatic? or is an email generated? or something else? 4. Is the price of the annual renewal fee different than the initial price for the SSL certificate? kw
  25. Ok, the Help web site has been updated for SSL cost. Click here! -kw
