  1. Via cPanel you can create restricted directories for different users. If, however, you are looking for more a membership signin package for users, go to the TCH Help Web Site, click on Third Party Tools and take a look at aMember - it comes in both a free and a paid version. -kw
  2. Go to the TCH Help web site 1. Under 'Recent Announcements' you will find a link to view a list of the current software installed on our servers 2. Also, click on Tools & Scripts. There you will find two scripts 'env.pl' and 'phpinfo.php' that you can either run or download and install on your web site. These will show you the various modules and versions of software installed. 3. If you upload a tar.gz file to your web site, then use the File Manager feature of cPanel to extract (unpack) the archived file. -kw

    Asp?

you may want to do some research on the subject using Google. For example, here is one link I found that discusses Chili ASP and says that it is not a fully functional equivalent to ASP running on Microsoft servers. -kw

    Asp?

All TCH servers run on Linux operating systems. ASP is a Microsoft product which only runs on Microsoft Windows servers. I can't respond to the ASP "look alike" for Linux servers. Let's see if we can find an answer! -kw
  5. go to TCH Help Page - Email and click on 'problems accessing your email account -kw
  6. BTW, one of my favorite scenes from any movie is with Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty in 'Ishthar', where the Dustin Hoffman character is trying to teach Warren Beatty how to say the word 'schmuck'. The Warren Beatty character could only say it as 'smuck' Dustin: Say "Sh" Warren: "Sh" Dustin: Now say "muck" Warren: "muck" Dustin: now say "sh" and "muck" together -- "schmuck" Warren: "Ssss . . . . . smuck"

  9. Wow, what a round about way to get to a problem! We went from wanting to know the default permissions for all files on a new web site to the real problem - which was that your animated gifs were not working - which has (or should have) nothing to do with file permissions. :-) You say you got your animated gifs now working - care to identify how you fixed it? -kw
  10. Good question! No, I don't have a good answer. But don't worry ... as soon as someone provides a good answer, I'll have it posted on the Help site! :-) kw
  11. Yep, and I'm the one to do the reminding! As a further example, if you had gone to the new TCH Help Web site and entered 'email password' in the Search box, you would have found the answer as well! :-) kw

not sure you can make the IFRAME transparent, since it is actually displaying a new HTML page within the acrollable area it defines. http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/frames/_IFRAME.html -kw
  13. Hey, Ricky - but wasn't there an issue about changes to the conf file being rwritten over the next day? If so, how was that resolved? -kw
  14. I beleive that email attachments are restricted to 2MB size. I will verify this for you. Remember also that the limit on email attachments is two sided - that is, both the originating and receiving mail servers will have a say in the matter! -kw

  18. I've added a page to the TCH Help Web Site with some excerpts from recent customer / user reviews of TCH. Just go to the Help Web site and you will find a link in the middle of the home page. I will try to update this on a regular (perhaps monthly basis). -kw
  19. I find the 300 seconds (5 minutes) fairly common among web providers. I happen to use CuteFTP, and it has a nice 'reconnect' icon/button that is very useful in such cases. -kw
  20. You would have to FTP your files down from your old site to your PC, and then turn around and FTP from your PC to your new TCH site. -kw
