From the phpBB documentation: getting an avatar uploaded... >http://www.shrevegayspot.com/forum/templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB.gif That is the location of the logo you want to change. Just rename your new file with that name, upload it in the right place and you should be set!

I Want To Keep My Domain Name - How Can I Transfer
TCH-Sales replied to a topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Yep, that'd do it! Get the domain name transfered, then pick the plan you want, wait for it to be set up, and then FTP your site from your computer onto our servers! Easy as that. -

What I described was how to transfer your domain NAME, doing the whole site (what you actually have on there) is another mater all together. -
I Want To Keep My Domain Name - How Can I Transfer
TCH-Sales replied to a topic in Pre-Sales Questions
If your wanting to transfer the domain name from your old register to our register, then all you'll need to do is go to our domain name registration page, and click on the transfer link. There'll be a $10.95 fee involved. If your wanting to keep your domain name register, then all you'll need to do is update the DNS pointers at that said register, to our DNS servers. -
Creating Small Icon Size Picture That Do..
TCH-Sales replied to karmacriminal's topic in HTML and CSS
I'd say the first thing you'd need is an image editor with a good "resizer" tool included. I've personally been pretty happy with PSP7 (especially since I got a $60 rebate from Amazon.com) and it has that built in. Also, if your picture seems a little fuzzy when you downsize it, you might try sharpening the image to get it a little more detail. Not all images look that great at a smaller size though. If it's a picture that's huge (as far as file size) there's alot more trying to compress than a smaller one. Hope this has helped a little, and have a good 'un! -
My guess is that it'd be in there somewhere in the source code, but no clue as the first place to look.
-
Well it'll do for now, just because I already know how to get things done with it, and I have neither the time nor the patience to mess with a new system right away. I just think it feels really bloated. Just one man's opinion though!
-
Since geocities pages are usually pretty "simple" i'd say your best bet would be just to download the site on your computer and FTP it back up. Might take some time, but it's probably the simplest approach to the problem.

Another reason for not buying an iMac, nobody can afford it!

Cpanel Unable To Turn Index Off For Root Dir?
TCH-Sales replied to Vernon's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Don't have an answer for ya, but I do have a work around. Create a blank HTML document, then name it index.html . Upload it in your root directory, and look Mom, no index! -
Another easy to install content management system is e107.. figured mentioning that might get Bill happy again since he's a big e107 fan..

what do you mean by indie blogs?
-
come on, it's been a few hours.. you mean it's not done yet?!
-
Just bookmarked it! So I'll be keeping an eye on it's progression. Also, thanks for clarifying the lingo there, my thoughts were going a little faster than my fingers, so didn't mean for it to sound like it did. Now all those people at home (why do I feel like I'm on a TV show?!) know which from which. Sounds like we're pretty much on the same page, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes!

I'd say the most limiting thing about it is all the "you can do this" but you "can't do that" legalize that most nobody reads but me before they use it. I'm always one to fallow the rules and such, but there's just too many checks and balances in there you don't know if your breaking the agreement or not. Like say if I did advertising on my blog, is there only a certain limit to the money I could make through it before it's considered a "comercial" site? I'm just an old school beliver of if you pay something for a product, it's yours to do with what you want to do. Also, say I told my year's worth of bloggin on my site to people, on a CD for $10 a year or something. Just taking the text files off MT and then reselling them... I'd be more than happy to pay or donate if I didn't feel like in 6 months there's going to be 12 more pages of legalize I've got to hire a lawer to go through before I use the product. As far as patches go, I wish Moveable Type was built around being "patchable". It feels like to me the origional source code was never ment to be patched with all those that are out there today. If there was a way to add patches and add-ons without editing the source code and hacking and slashing your way though. I think that would get LOTS of people's attention. Say you only have to put a plugin in one folder, CHMOD it, then it's ready to go. Or maybe provide a way through the actual interface to plugin something without working about doing it the old way at all. Let me know as soon as you get the blogging software project on the way! I'd like to at least be a feedback person from the masses!
-
I just hate the fact that everything seems to be so limited with MT for my first complaint. Of course, something becomes big and the "norm" its going to get that "comercialized". I think a much better product would come of it if they redid it from the bottom up when updating, because right now it just has that "patched" feeling. Also the mt tags are getting out of control with confusing. That's just my personal moan though... If you were to start your own blogging software you'd have to keep us updated! There are some alright alternatives out there so far. I really liked Pivot, but its still being developed so it had some loose ends here and there that got anoying. The good thing about it though, was that it was all in PHP, and was more designed with regular CSS, so it'd be easy to pull it into a regular site layout, without having to have it off over by itself. So there ya go, my opinions and good stuffins!

Nobody is saying it isn't possible, lstover was pointing out that we don't allow it, not that you couldn't do it at all.. The point is we don't want anybody doing it, hence why it's a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
-
I was just pointing out Vincent that there's many alternatives out there. Also, everybody is entitled to their 2 cents, I just feel like MoveableType could be written better. Right now it just feels like the basic concept was good, but instead of building a better product, they just kinda stuck in fixes here and there. But I do use MT, just because I'm spoild to it, and don't have anytime to really learn and play with much else. Check this thread I did on a comparison blog tool I found for more alternatives out there: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...t=0entry10633

Hey Tech Gurl, I just went back to Moveable Type myself: cerealkeeler.net I like it, but some might say it's too bloated. There's alot of alternatives out there though, so just take a look around.. I'm sure you'll find one that suits your needs!

I'm pretty sure the question being asked here is how to move over her old phpbb to the new site. Well, I did a little digging, and found this at the phpBB website: http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=9 Hope it helps!
-
I figured this could be an interesting conversation starter for all the dozens and dozens of TotalChoice loyalists out there. What do you use to blog? MT? b2? Livejournal? Tell us what it is you use, and why do you use it! I know there has to be a couple of bloggers out there, so let me see what you like and don't like!
-
Alright, then I'd say you might want to try the Form Mail tool in your CPanel. Here's our help page on it: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id65.htm
-
Well, inside your CPanel you have access to create both a phpbb board and an invisionboard! Both are great, and it's as easy as clicking which one you want! TCH Rocks
