Hiya Tony You'll need to read the message, "Pinned: How To Add Your Site." You have to list a few items to get added. I'm probably not the one to give instructions on formatting as I don't know php and all that, but I often use tables at work set to 100% or 90% - that way they expand according to the viewer's resolution. Yours definitely scrolls off with my 800x600 screen.

IIRC one of the questions when you sign up is what your domain name is.

hehe Like I said, I enjoyed the paper, and I am always up for some Microsoft bashing. I don't like how they do business. Unfortunately I still use their products because, well, they're easier for me and my games work on Windows. It's like Wal Mart. As some stock analyst said on Fox the other day, they're mean and they treat their employees like crap - but I still shop there because I'm not made out of money and they're far cheaper than the other grocery stores in town.

Sorry HC, I'm a reformed arminian, not a calvinist. Snipe, I do agree that there is no excuse for how sloppy Microsoft has been. I also think there is no excuse for how incredibly ignorant many computer users are. I don't expect people to be able to program or take a computer apart (I can't), but you should have to demonstrate a basic level of common sense before being allowed to buy one. We have had a ton of "education" and warnings about viruses at work, but not two days after we received several e-mails about a new virus, one of my coworkers opened an attachment and ended up infecting at least a half dozen other idiots on the floor. She had to swap out computers because hers completely crashed. She claimed she thought it was a screensaver a friend had sent although she admitted not really recognizing the sender's address.

Very nicely written. Generally I have no moral problem laying the blame for anything that goes wrong in this world on Microsoft. However, it still comes down to people making a conscious choice to write and distribute viruses. Microsoft is simply an ignorant, uncaring, greedy facilitator. People have free choice and must take personal responsibility for what they do. If a department store has expensive shoes sitting right by an entrance and someone shoplifts a couple of pairs, is the store to blame for that person making the choice to steal? They may be stupid, but they are not the cause of the theft - a dishonest person is. And that is my rant about there being no accountability for one's own actions anymore. Mad!!!

Kasey - I used Irfanview, and in about 30 seconds I had made thumbnails for over 100 pictures, and they were automatically linked to the original picture! I used to do my own too but this saved me TONS of time!

While I haven't finished it, I think Flash in 24 hours is very easy to follow. I found it used on amazon.com and got it for less than half the price Barnes & Noble ask, and it was in perfect condition.

LOL - of all days, people should EXPECT this stuff! Did anyone by chance see Progressive's website today? They had all kinds of insurance coverage for UFOs, if your car is damaged in an alien abduction, etc.!! Sad thing is, there are people dumb enough to fall for it. Two of my coworkers cooked up a great joke to play on another fellow coworker this afternoon. This coworker (who is more than a litle gullible) just bought a new car. We took a page from that car manufacturer's website, saved it and uploaded it to my site with a few little modifications. On the front page we added a section regarding "Urgent Recall Information" that went to another page (looking like the manufaturer) with the following two "recalls." Kia Motors America, Inc. Models: 2000-2004 Kia Optima Number Involved: 21,533 Dates of Manufacture: October 2000 - March 2004 Defect: On certain passenger vehicles, the side air bag wire harness for the driver position could be misrouted. This could result in its being pinched or cut by the seat cushion tilt mechanism. Damage to the wire harness could result in the side air bag deploying at anytime. There is an additional chance that the chemical used to deploy the air bag, sodium azide, could escape into the cabin of the vehicle causing heart palpatations, convulsions, lung damage, or even death. If this occurs, open the doors immediately to disperse the gas. Remedy: Dealers will check for proper routing of the side air bag wire harness and secure it in place with a plastic tie-wrap. If the wire harness is damaged, it will be replaced. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began March 3, 2004. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. LOL She's printing off the information to take to her dealer and is spazzing because she "drives up a road every day with lots of potholes and she and her daughter could've died at any time!" A coworker and I are crouched in the next cube holding our sides in silent laughter! At the bottom of that page, in red I had written, "Important Additional Information -PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO YOUR DEALERSHIP" which had to be pointed out to her as she's still going nuts over her daily near-misses with death. When she clicked on it, a page with April Fools! at the top and lots of smileys came up. She starts laughing, and the whole unit (who were all in on the joke) just cracked up! We had people from two rows over coming to ask what was so funny! Best thing was, she sent the link to her even more gullible mom and got her too! I have to say it was the most successful April Fools joke I've ever been a part of.

After dealing with another SOE "upgrade" to EverQuest that probably broke the game for a third of its customers, it's wonderful to come here and see a company whose employees actually have integrity. SOE's response? The usual - it's something wrong with your computer, not our game.

This may be a silly question, but has your ISP been having issues?

I find it interesting that people are coming here with no posting history trying to get me to click on a game link. I'll put money down they aren't TCH customers. Sorry, I don't click on strange links any more than I open zip and pif files in my e-mail.

You aren't by any chance with ProHosting, are you? I had the same thing happen a day after I signed up for a free site, then I couldn't even upload anything anymore. I had wanted to convert to a pay site but their complete lack of customer support told me they weren't worth the trouble. I'm glad it happened as it brought me here.

Out of curiosity, how do you put your e-mail on your site other than using the mailto tag? Forms? Some other way? I may have to learn how to make forms just to keep my TCH mail cleaner, unlike my ISP e-mail. (Actually, I can MAKE them, it's making them WORK that I'm a bit iffy on!)

I recently took a look at my site on a 1024 x 768 monitor (I use 800x600 here and at work) and found one page in particular that just doesn't look good because of the background I use (http://www.gryfalia.com/travels/index.htm). Is there any way to make that work on a smaller resolution or am I just going to have to deal with it if I want to keep the background? Kristi

Just an fyi - you really ought to keep your file names shorter. In theory you can make them up to 256 characters (or whatever the current limit is), but longer ones can potentially cause issues when working with the web.
