  1. If someone has the time and inclination, I could use some css/php assistance please. I'm playing with a new WordPress theme that can be found here - http://wordpressthem...detail/832.html I have it installed at www.gryfaliasaerie.com Two things I'm struggling with are: 1. How can I get photos to show up on the main page and in the recent articles at the bottom as it shows in the sample (see first link above)? 2. There is a photo in the bottom left of the sample, whereas mine says No Categories. I can't figure out what this No Categories is or what should be there. I went out to the developer's site as well but it didn't answer these questions. Thank you! I can attach a zip file of the theme, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed or not.
  2. D'oh! I didn't even look at the date on the post. Thanks - I will do that.
  3. I use phplist to send out around 250 newsletter notifications each month. I'm guessing an update was applied sometime in the past month and a half because my messages are now being truncated. I Googled the problem and came up with what seems to be a solution. Problem is, I don't really understand how to apply the fix. Here is a link to the page: http://mantis.phplist.com/view.php?id=2138 Where exactly do I go to change the "varchar(255)" to "text"? And do you know of a better way to fix the problem? Thanks much!
  4. Oh wow - it's that easy? Very cool! Thank you so much! And thanks Thomas for moving this to the right forum.
  5. I'm working on a site redesign with WordPress at http://achr-il.com/testsite/. I've looked through the php files and must just be missing how to add to the buttons at the top (currently Home and About). Can someone point me in the right direction pretty please? Thanks!
  6. Thanks! As for the quotes, yeah, I know. :-p I'm on my 'berry so it wasn't giving me a choice and I was being lazy about removing them.
  7. That's what I was wondering. That would be the static pages?
  8. Because the website is a lot more than just a news source. There is a calendar of events, resources pages, information pages... You can see what is currently there at www.achr-il.com.
  9. Hopefully posting works on my blackberry... With WP, do I create static pages for thw site pages? How exactly does that work when it isn't set up as a blog?
  10. Hi everyone. It has been a while since I dropped in. Almost didn't remember my password. I take care of a non-profit site that is hosted here and they'd like to make changes so that we can post news and events as they come in rather than just once a month in the pdf of the newsletter. Here are some of the features I need: RSS feed for just the latest news portion Archives (hopefully done automatically) with search Something fairly simple as I do not know php or javascript and my CSS skills are ok, but not great. Would WordPress do the trick? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  11. Thank you! Step-by-step helps me immensely. I'll go try right now!
  12. Sorry to take so long to get back about this. I made sure cookies were being accepted and tried what you said, but it is still giving me the session verification failed error. This is happening on both the websites I own with forums. Anything else I can try? I'm not keen on upgrading manually. Thanks!
  13. Question - for the past two upgrades, I haven't been able to do so from the forums package manager. When I try to log in, it says that session verification failed. I know that my username and password are correct, because I signed into control panel with them afterwards. I've always had FTP server as localhost with Port 21. Is that no longer correct? I upgraded through Fantastico last time, but they don't have 1.1.8 available yet. Thanks!
  14. Crock pot chicken makhani (I so love the "A Year of CrockPotting" site!)
  15. Last night - shrimp fajitas Tonight - bbq smoked ribs with grilled veggies and homemade bread
  16. I stopped using AVG when I scanned a download, it told me it was clean, and it actually wasn't. On top of that, the trojan that was hidden in it was a fairly common one that shouldn't have been hard to find. Studies I read (can't vouch for their accuracy) showed that Avira was better at preventing infection so I switched, and I have been pretty happy with them overall. I really couldn't say whether the pay ones are better in general or not. My old McAfee never did a darn thing for me except waste my money. I ran the malwarebytes and found 12 additional issues - thanks Bruce! I think (knock on wood) that my system is clean now.
  17. Thanks for the reminder - I saw that above and then forgot. Running it now. Avast caught a couple of things in my drivers folder that nothing else had.
  18. JTD - I know, it was stupid on my part. I'm usually very careful, but this one got by me. Somehow, some way, those reproducing files seem to be gone, and Avira has given me a clean bill of health. I did have a time getting my Security Center to turn back on as the little nasty worm/trojan had deactivated it. Doing a run - services.msc got that back up. Darn thing also wiped all my prior restore points (not that I was able to use them anyway). I ran SpyBot a couple of times, and the only thing it found was that my registry had been changed to turn off the Security Center. I'm currently installing Avast just as a backup check. I always worry that there is something still lurking out there that isn't being caught, and that my passwords will be compromised. I guess there's nothing else to do but keep running my anti spy, mal, and adware programs as I have been. Thanks for all of your advice! It's such a benefit to be able to come here and find so many friendly people willing to help.
  19. We had beef veggie soup (that was more of a stew) last night, and tonight (Tuesday) will be buffalo chicken lasagne made in the crock pot.
  20. As I sit here in my fourth hour of trying to rid myself of these trojans, I am about to give up. Last night, I suspect that a Flash "upgrade" was not what it said and I ended up with at least three trojans. My Avira caught them and I quarantined all seven things it brought to my attention. I then ran Ad Aware and it noted two registry changes and a bunch of tracking cookies and other less important items. I quarantined them all. I then ran Avira several more times, but there are two .tmp files in my C:\ folder that won't go away. If they get quarantined, they just come back with new names. For example, ARKa and ARKb became ARKc and ARKd. I also ran Spybot and it caught another registry change which turned off my Windows anti virus. I had tried to turn it back on, but it wouldn't. I decided to just go back to a restore point from several days ago, but my computer doesn't seem to want to actually do a restore. I go to System Restore, choose the day and point, click next, make sure all programs and closed, click the final Next, and....nothing. It literally does nothing. No errors, no churning or running, nada. Tried it in safe mode, same result. So, I can't restore, and I can't seem to get rid of this thing. Can someone please help? I've exhausted all my know-how and haven't seen anything else useful online. Thank you!!
  21. We've been having the same problem with around 20-25 a day, almost all from eastern Europe or Africa. Only one actually finished the activation and posted. Still, I'll try that reCaptcha this weekend. I'm tired of getting all the e-mails.
  22. After installing this update, when I go to latest links by clicking to the right of the address bar, it doesn't just give me a nice list of what sites I've recently typed in. It gives me every...single...page I've visited in every site no matter how I got there. It also lists both the name of that page AND the url making for a bulky and hard to skim list. For example, if I go to a forum, it keeps track of every thread I visit and adds that to the list. I tried deleting my history but it didn't work. I just want to get back to how it was in 2. Any advice please?
  23. I got the good response as well. I think I'm a little disappointed.
  24. You won't find better people than here at TCH. I'm up to four domains with them now, and I've referred several friends and coworkers as well.
