  1. Scott When I paste in the text that Tracy posted, the underlines do not go away. It's only when I put in the extra "a" that it works. I do not know why.
  2. I still can't see how changing the text color properties, even in both places would work, but hey - if it works for you, go for it. Mine worked just as I pasted it in my reply....funny that code would work with a colon or comma. But here's the page if you want to see. I did add one line, so here is exactly what was pasted in. <style type="text/css"> a, a:link {text-decoration: none; } a:hover { color: #D7688E; text-decoration: none } </style> And here is the page (only the first two links work right now) Travels Page I've learned two new things today!
  3. I did make a stylesheet with None selected and attached it to the page but it didn't work. I'm not sure why - stylesheets in general aren't too complicated. However, pasting this code in the headers seems to take care of all underlines - visited or not. <style type="text/css"> a, a:link { text-decoration: none; } </style> Thanks all for your help!
  4. Did that, but it either turned my entire linked text the same color as my background or still underlined it. I tried creating a style with None checked and attached the style sheet to the page and it still didn't work. Hmmmm
  5. I know this is probably a dumb question, but how do you make a link without it being underlined?
  6. I should've known when I read the rules of Pearls that I wouldn't be good at it. I stink at strategy games. I dated someone for over 2 years who loved Othello. In all that time I think I only won once (and I'm 99% sure he let me win). My husband's a huge Magic, the Gathering fan. I stink at that too. Give me Euchre or Cribbage anytime. hehe
  7. I got several of those last week as well - I just deleted them from my inbox. I never ever open any attachments anymore without being 100% sure of what they are. I've been through a big reformatting due to a virus and I NEVER want to do that again! Unfortunately, some of my cousins and a couple of friends never seem to learn after being told repeatedly not to launch attachments without checking first, so I'll be eternally doomed to getting viruses from them. Mad!!!
  8. An amusing spoof page regarding the Nigerian spammers... Nigerian E-mail Conference
  9. Although I've had my account for just a few days, I've been perfectly happy with the experience. I'm always hesitant to contact customer service with my novice questions, but everyone has been very helpful and friendly. I put down that I've had no problems with billing.....just don't make me a liar. Oh - when I sent out an e-mail to all my friends and family telling them about my site, I highly recommended you to them.
  10. I ended up changing to the Advanced Guestbook. When I first read the option, I thought I had to know SQL to do it, but Lianna showed me how easy it was. I don't know what I did wrong with the simple one, but I'm betting I needed to specify someplace for the information to go. But Lianna's right - this is WAY better than the simple guestbook so I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks!!!
  11. I haven't found any help sections on TCH's help pages regarding this, nor have I seen anything in the forums, so here's my noob question. I installed a simple guestbook, made a test entry, but when I go to View Guestbook on my cpanel, nothing comes up. Is there something else I need to do to make it work? I've never done anything with cgi-bin before but I'm guessing it's something simple I'm missing. Also, can I make a page come up when they click on Submit to say something like "Thank you for signing my guestbook"? Thanks for your help Kristi
  12. Woot! DW4 here as well - actually, I have the suite of products although I don't know how to use most of them. I use DWmx at work. I'm so glad to see this forum!!
  13. I use both AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy. But be careful....the first time I did a search on Google for Spybot, one of the first links to it actually linked to a spyware download disguised as Spybot. Just be sure to download from the actual Spybot S&D page to be safe. I do like AdAware, but as someone said, their updates are few and far between. They did help me clean up my registry after an awful Kazaa experience two or three years ago though. I've learned much since then. heh
  14. I love that Special K commercial! But let's get serious...overweight or not, who wants to have Special K for breakfast AND lunch 14 days in a row?? BTW, hello everyone - new person here.
