When my inlaws came to visit us in Colombia we took them to a coffee plantation that belonged to a friend. We toured the fields and he explained the process from planting to sending to market. Near the end we went up to the roof where they were drying the beans. They were neatly divided into two sections. One section was golden brown and perfectly colored. The other section was varied colors due to many having been eaten by the broca, a type of worm. My father-in-law asked what the difference was and he replied that the perfectly colored beans were what they exported to the States and the others are "what we drink." We paid under $1.20 for a pound of coffee there. When we came home we brought about 16 bags of coffee with us. Half of it was vacuum packed. When we checked our luggage they punctured about half the bags to be sure it was all coffee. We expected it and had masking tape to tape up the holes. A friend had gone through the week before and when he arrived in Miami his luggage was full of the coffee that had leaked out.

Yes, you can change permissions from the File Manager in cPanel. Often you can right click on the file to edit it's properties in other programs. FTP Commander is limited in this respect. I use Filezilla and Smart FTP as well.

Jerry, actually I tried a couple of things but ended up using steps you could take from cPanel. I first moved the inbox from mail/presley.cc/jerry to the private folder. You can look at file sizes to get an idea of which of the many files is the problem. I then created a new, empty inbox to replace it. That allowed me into the email. I then went into the copy and edited it in File Manager and deleted the message that was so large. That dropped the size from 500K to 28K. I copied that file into the original location and it worked fine. If it had been my inbox I probably would have just looked at the inbox to see if there was anything I needed then just deleted it and then create a new empty inbox. All of this was done in the File Manager. I did try using something like what leezard suggested. That is usually my first step as well but the header seemed to be corrupted so that program locked up as well.

What are the permissions you have set on the file(s)? What scripts are you running? The more details you provide the easier it is to dianose. Internal Server Error is a very general error and can be caused by a number of things. It often helps to look at your error log (which can be accessed from your cPanel). If it says something like, directory is writable by all, or file is not executable, it is a likely a permissions problem.

The disk usage stats do not change real time. They generally are updated once a day but there is a bug in cPanel that causes it not to update at times. Let us know when you notice the problem and we can correct it. I have fixed the problem you mentioned, Leezard and you should notice the change in your cPanel now.

Felt like I was wrestling that donkey trying to get the db restored. I would echo HG's warning on the need for regular backups. But, if you delete something tell us quick of you want to have a chance to get it back.

Submit a Help Desk ticket and give us the existing site name along with the new domain. We will park it on top of the existing domain so that olddomain.com and newdomain.com will both resolve to the same site. You will need to set the name servers with your registrar to the same as your first site.

20. It would not be a problem to sign up using your reseller domain before actually pointing the domain to the server here. You would be able to access the account using the IP address including the use of cPanel and Web Hosting Manager in order to familiarize yourself with it. You could even set up accounts and "practice" for the final moving of sites.

We lived in the Coffee Zone of Colombia for a couple of years. Having gotten used to coffee fresh from the fields I've had a hard time drinking anything here since moving back. Funny thing is that the folks at the higher altitudes in Colombia tend to drink hot chocolate more than coffee. I think I have you fixed up. Thanks for sending in the Help Desk Ticket. It's easier to diagnose when I can see what's going on behind the scenes. At least I was able to get into the forums. I went through several topics and all worked well. Basically it looks like the database thought a table ibf_topics was In Use and wouldn't allow access to prevent further corruption. Using phpMyAdmin I opened the database and checked the box of the ibf_topics table and then used the drop down menu to Repair this Table. I will troll the Invision Forum when I get the chance and see if there are reports of this error. I did a Google search on the error message and found that it seems to be a common problem but saw no reasons why. Let us know if it is working correctly.

I'm free, too! Finished giving my last exam to my high school classes and have all grades figured and in the computer. To top it off, school will start back two weeks later in the fall so I have an extra couple of weeks of summer break.

The Manage SQL section of your Admin CP has a drop down box that included a Repair Table option that you might try before completely rebuilding. That is also where you would go to make a backup of the database so that you can restore it if the database becomes corrupted beyond repair.

One freebie that I use a lot is Crazy Browser. It is based on the IE6 engine so you have to have IE installed but adds a lot of feature I find handy and I've discovered more as I've used it. The most obvious feature is the tabbed browser sessions. Even nicer is that you can save groups of windows into Groups and can load them all with one click. I have groups of news sites, sites I use for searching, tech sites, and more. It even has a slide show feature where you can page through multiple windows at a given interval. It's a memory hog at times but can be a real time saver. Find it at www.crazybrowser.com.

My least favorite "feature" is that the Edit File and Delete File links are next to each other. More than once I have moved the mouse just enough as I clicked to hit the wrong one.

All servers now have the zip and unzip functions active through the cPanel. Might as well have it there when you need it.

PhpBB is available as an install via the cPanel as is InVision Board as an add-on script throught the cPanel. As long as the site abides by the AUP and TOS there is no problem.

In looking through the information on pair.com I saw no mention of cPanel.
