  1. Hi, Nan. I'm sorry we haven't gotten to the ticket yet. It's an interesting problem and right now I'm not sure what the problem is so I've hesitated on speculating. I promise we haven't forgotten. I need to do some searches and see what I can learn about the error message.
  2. I've added zip to server 10 (since I've wanted it on my sites) and on server 26 at a user's request. As Alan mentioned, let us know if you need it on your server and we can get it working.
  3. Are you running some sort of pop-up stopper. That is an odd problem. As a work around for now, you might try getting into the cPanel by using the format http://username:password@ipaddress:2082. That should get you in. You might want to submit a Help Desk Ticket and let us be sure it's working correctly.
  4. Magic (or voo-doo). Hard to say.
  5. If you go to your error log in the cPanel it may help determine the nature of the error. For example, if it says something about users being able to write to the file or directory it is a permissions problem. The permissions should be set to 755 even if the software calls for 777.
  6. As far as answers to your other questions, you can set up all the pop3 email accounts you need and you can have a default account to catch any mail not addressed to one of the accounts you have created. I use other@****. By default the master account will serve this purpose but any account you create can be used. In addition you will have access to MySQL, many options for tech support including this forum, and much more. Let us know if you have other questions.
  7. Yes, you are on 24. Servers 24, 25, and 26 don't yet have the Welcome to Server # message in the cPanel yet.
  8. Give some more info and maybe we'll have better news. Internal Server errors can be caused by improper permissions as well. What was the script? Have you looked at the one mentioned in another thread on the forums?
  9. You can look at the headers on an email message and you should see server##.totalchoicehosting.com somwhere. Or even easier, you can ask. You're on Server 26.
  10. It seems to just be the full backup affected. I get today's date with the daily backup (on 10). Seems I made a full backup when we still had cPanel 5 and it was the correct date but can't remember for sure.
  11. There is a nice javascript webmail interface that does what you want on the TCH Help Page. I set up a subdomain and installed this in it. I then enter it using webmail.****. If you add it to your Front Page website it may eliminate the problem. Sorry I can't help much more but I'm not a big fan of FrontPage. I do plan to work with it a bit more this summer.
  12. I found a post on the cPanel board mentioning the same problem. I don't know that anyone has explained it. I just rename the backup and move on. Funny thing is the daily home backup has the right date.
  13. Closing in on it but still has a ways to go. 54 posts in this thread still is the longest as far as I can recall.
  14. Exitting the browser and then restarting should clear that. You can try logging in using the format: http://username:password@ipaddress:2082 That should log you directly in using IE.
  15. If it really bothers you to have the flip-flopping you can try setting an entry in your HOSTS file pointing to your new ip. That solved my problem when I switched hosts and I actually put in my old ip once to get some files off the old host that I had forgotten. You can do a google search on HOSTS for more info.
  16. Please IM me using AOL, Yahoo, or MSN by clicking on the buttons below this post. If you don'r have access to those send me a private message.
  17. I use the chat quite a bit as well. If someone doesn't have one of the IM clients (of the many you can see below) I send them to my chat.**** page and we can work from there. Nice thing is it's web based so firewalls don't block it like some do with AOL, Yahoo, etc.
  18. It would be good to look pretty quickly at the policies of your current registrar since your domain expires in June. There are different policies on transfering within a certain window that can make it more difficult.
  19. Once you get a lot of files in your folders it is much easier to use an FTP client rather than cPanel. I like Filezilla but Smart FTP is also great. Both are free and can be found using a Google search or looking on the Help Page. These programs would make moving a bunch of files much easier.
  20. You've got it correct. Once your account is set up on our servers we will send you a welcome email with information on your nameservers, IP address, and much more. You can then update your nameservers with the registrar of your domain using the Total Choice Hosting nameservers. Propagation takes from 24 to 72 hours generally (sometimes more and sometimes less.) Let us know if you need further assistance.
  21. Shell access had been enabled for a number of accounts on your server by mistake. Please see the Help Pages for info on how to apply for access. I played around with the PHP Shell program as well (mentioned at the bottom of the SSH page.) It may do what you need to do.
  22. It's against the Movable Type User Agreement to have an autoinstall. There are several here that would be glad to help you through it. PM me if you would like me to help and we can set something up.
  23. Submit a Help Desk ticket and we will look into why you can't log into you cPanel. If you have forgotten the password let us know and we can reset it.
  24. I'm running IE 6 and get the images with or without the slash.
  25. You can install PhpBB directly from the cPanel by selecting Bulletin Board under the CGI Scripts section. It will do most of the work for you. If you want to install manually, you have to set up a MySQL database and user then use that information in the configure options. The easiest route to play with it is to use the CPanel option.
