  1. Are you using Firefox by chance? I had that problem for as long as I ran Movable Type. We just replaced my wife's laptop with a new one and now she is also having the same issue. If you use IE it never logs you out. Only in Firefox and there doesn't seem to be a solution. At least none that I have found. What I used to do to get around the problem was open my stylesheet for editing and save it without making any changes which logged me out. Then I could log back in and do anything I wanted until I logged myself out.
  2. Anytime you make a files permissions to allow all access to it is a security risk. But there are things that sometimes require it. I am going to move this to the security forum and maybe someone can give better answers.
  3. Paulo, the path you are giving is in the form of a Windows machine. Is this on a PC? Or are you referring to your .htaccess file here on the TCH servers?
  4. Welcome to the family and forums, Gail.
  5. Thanks again everyone. Bell, you are so funny!
  6. Welcome to the family and forums! Did you install the same version of Invision here as at your current site? If so you should be able to make a backup of your current databases and import them here. Sorry I don't know of a tutorial but others here may have some ideas.
  7. Glad it's resolved.
  8. Moving for organization and better exposure.
  9. Welcome to the forums, RedHawk and Indifferent!
  10. Thank you everyone! I will do my best. As for the office with a window, guess I need to ask Bill!
  11. If you are using XP you should be able to open the file with Notepad no problem.
  12. I use them all the time when I am out of the office for an extended period of time. You just create them and they start working immediately. Problem is rememebering to remove them when you get back!
  13. phpAdmin is included in cPanel. So yes you should be able to populate a new database here. Yes, if you sign up for a reseller account it comes with WHM (web host manager) in which you create your own packages with disk space, bandwidth, number of ftp and email accounts, etc... I am pretty sure it does. Yes, you can purchase your own. I will defer the cost to someone who knows. Servers are located in several DCs around the country. I don't know the throughput numbers. But I wouldn't imagine your site being slow from any of the TCH servers from my experience.
  14. Welcome to the family and forums, Richard! As it's been said. This does not affect you sending email to AOL accounts. This only has to do with setting up a forward in cPanel to redirect all mail sent to a TCH hosted account to an AOL account.
  15. phpBB can do it as well.
  16. Interesting. Learned something new today!
  17. Where in you directory structure are you seeing this folder? I just checked mine and I do not have it. From what I have found on Google It looks like it may be something you installed.
  18. Welcome to the family, Gloria! As Thomas as stevan said, the hosting and domain purchase are two separate transactions. Check your spam or junk folders for the welcome emails.
  19. Welcome to the family and forums, Valerie!
  20. You can open a help desk ticket and ask support to clear it for you.
  21. Yes, it's version 7 with the popups. I don't mind them. Let's me know it's working.
  22. I use AVG and it updates automatically. It does toss a pop-up on the screen while it's doing it though.
  23. Congrats Mike and Rob!
  24. Moving for organization
  25. Yes, you will be given an IP address you can upload your content with and start your configuration. Some things may not work due to the fact of requiring a domain name to link to but will work correctly once the DNS has been switched over. You are notified automatically when you have reached 80% of your bandwidth.
