  1. Hello, I used to have a proboard years ago. Now I have my own domain and account here at TCH. I have some 4000 registered users and some 150,000 articles, with an average of 90 new posts a day. The bandwidth on my phpBB board is about 9 gigs a month Getting a proper forum was one of the best things I ever did! Hope this is of some help JimE
  2. Hello, Have you got the latest version and have you done all the setup as instructed originally? JimE
  3. Hello, Its highly annoying I would agree but I would not worry about it unless you start seeing links to your pages in these URLS JimE
  4. Hello, If you go to www.biom.net/dojo.php do you get redirected?? If not, you can set up a redirect in cpanel to the new address which will help solve your problems JimE
  5. Nice pickup timhodge! JimE
  6. Hello, Try disabling Norton for a short while, reboot with norton disabled and see what happens (You will be alright for a few minutes whilst you check!) You can copy all setting over using the following: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...y/mgrtfset.mspx I have done this for some 1200 users before and actually it was very handy, but be warned, the setting files can reach huge proportions so be warned! JimE
  7. Hello, I believe CPANEL installs the latest version of phpBB, but there are hundreds of mods over at www.phpBB.com which you can install. Note that if you do install mods, you will need to do a manual upgrade which to be honest, is not that hard to do (I have been doing it ever since 2.0.1 and they are now on 2.0.19!) There is a new version of phpBB in the pipeworks, over at http://area51.phpbb.com/ but this is only in alpha at present and has yet to go to Beta, but that is all but a few months away we guess. Hence for now, I would stick with the phpBB 2.0.19 and enjoy using it, I love it! JimE
  8. Hello, As the menu is built in flash/shockwave, I am guessing your maybe missing a STOP command, because the movie is playing on and selecting the next part which is mod kits JimE

  13. Hi George, When you say "add new domain" could you describe a bit more what your intentions are? (Lack of wetabix this morning!) As Andy says above, it could be the firewall, or even the firewall on the router. Also check to make sure certain ports are not fowarded to only one computer JimE
  14. Welcome to the Forums both Dave and Will! I hope you both got your problems sorted out! JimE

  20. Hello, I suggest OSticket at http://www.osticket.com/index.php but i have had no experience and that was a random choice of google. It would seem as if there is hundreds out there! Good luck and if you pick one, let us know which one and how you get along with it! JimE
  21. Hello Laimonas, 1) My ping time from the UK to the same website is 120ms, this can easily vary on the route it takes and what else is on the network. A fast response today, does not mean a fast response tomorrow. All our network centers have incredible fast connections so the position of the server will make little difference. 2) We don't have any rule which states you will get the slowest / oldest server, all servers are highly equipped to cope with the websites they hold! I just wish my own home computers was that good! We look foward to welcoming you as part of the family! JimE
  22. Hello, Infact it will eat it up very very very quickly. A 20 meg video can be viewed once, where a picture of say 50K can be viewed 400,000 times for the same bandwidth!! JimE
  23. Hmmm, well I shall have to fiddle somemore, this time I will use a few domains I know and have a play and get back to you. JimE
  24. Hello its quite funny what you can put. The words "Stolen image from XXX" where XXX = domain name is always handy JimE
