This is one of those kind of questions that has a million and one ways around it, and of course I use the easiest and most inconvient way. Say you have your "e-mail me!" link on your site. ><a href="mailto:mitch@totalchoicehosting.com">e-mail me!</a> You could just place in there: ><a href="mailto:mitchNOSPAM@totalchoicehosting.com">e-mail me!</a> Of course anybody who clicks the link would have to edit out the "NOSPAM" part. Now I didn't say this is fool proof or the perfect way of doing things but it is yet one more way to get this task done for the most part.

MovableType is fully runable here at TotalChoice Hosting. The problems described above are down the line when your databases are badly managed and really large. I hope this doesn't stop anybody totally from installing MT with us. Yes, it has some problems but what script doesn't? Now chipping in to get a dedicated server isn't a bad idea. Parked Domains: TotalChoice Web Hosting allows you to park more than one domain name on top of the one you are currently using on your account. Lets say you signed up with mysite.com. You could go and register mysite.net, my-site.com, mysite.org, mysite.us and we will park them all on your account so all your domain names lead back to your web site. As long as all the domains are going to the same plan, on the same site, and pointing to the same page you should be good to go. So how do you do it? All you need to do is put in a help desk ticket and we will do it for you on the server side. Add-on Domains: TotalChoice Web Hosting does not allow you to host more than one domain from one of our web hosting plans. For an example, lets say you signed up once again for mysite.com and you wanted to also host aseconddomain.com all from your silver plan. You could not. Also we do not allow domains to be pointed at sub-domains. What you would need to do is purchase a separate plan for your second domain. Note: The above rules are only for our web hosting plans. Our reseller and dedicated plans do not fall under these rules.

Are you sure that your domain name has fully propagated to your new account? That could be the problem. You might want to put in a help desk ticket so that we can have a look at this problem from the inside.

No we don't allow domain parking on sub domains, so yes you will need to purcahse a new plan.

We don't have any control over that, as the demo is run by the folks at cpanel.net. Sorry!

If you download their upgrade from their official site, it pretty much explains what you must to do upgrade from any of their previous versions. Not much we can do about not being the latest version, since cPanel controls that end of things.

No, not as far as server based services go. You might be able to find a 3rd party script or service to do this for you though.

To answer your second question it appears that after a "Whois" search, your domain name doesn't seem to be registered. You can put in a help desk ticket if you want us to check up on the status of your older account with us here.

Correct Jim, or if this is a new account it could be that your domain name hasn't had the proper time to propagate yet. Could you give us a domain name? You might also want to read over some of our web hosting tutorials.

If your still having problems, you could put in a help desk ticket and we'll take a look at things for you.

You wouldn't be able to do this with the TotalChoice Hosting version of Horde. This is controlled by cPanel, and any changes to it would have to be done server-wide. I have heard a few success stories on trying to install your own version of mail clients out there. If that's what you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck!

Alright Jake, here's the problem. You're using the email account tied to the domain name you are trying to move over to us. This is the reason you're not getting any of our messages, because they are all going to your new account instead. Could you give us a diffrent email address so that we can contact you and send you your welcome email that way? Thanks!

Sometimes the best way to find the answer to your questions is to search the TotalChoice Web Hosting Family Forums. Within the thousands of posts that find their home here it's more than likely that your not the first nor the last person to have that problem. So you approach the search link, and you freeze up. How do you search these forums? What does all this stuff mean? Critical Mass helps explain what each term means and what to do with it. Search Keywords Search by Keywords - Here is where you put your question. I would start simple and put the main words you are looking for. It will search for everything so if you use the word “and” it will show all posts with the word “and in them. Filter by Member Name - You don’t need to use this unless you are looking for specific posts about your subject that were made by this member. Search Options Search Where? – What part of the forum are you looking for an answer in? If you are unsure where to look then I suggest it be left as “All Forums”. It would be a good idea to leave the check in the “Search in child forums if sub category is chosen” check box unless you are sure of the location. Refine Search – This is the most overlooked option. Leaving the settings as is will limit your returns. Here is a breakdown of the four categories. Search posts from… In the drop down box you have choices from Today to Any date and then radio buttons of newer and older. The default is 30 days ago and newer. To have the best chance of finding what you are looking for you may want to use “Any date”. Sort results by… Here is how the results will be displayed. The default is Last Posting Date and Descending order. This gives you the newest to oldest post format. Again you have a drop down box to further refine your options. Search Where? - There are two radio buttons here; “Search entire post” and “Search titles only”. The “Search entire post” option will look through the entire post to find a match for the keywords you chose. Using “Search titles only” will only look at the titles. Result Type – You have two radio buttons here as well; “Show results as topics” and “Show results as posts”. “Show results as topics” displays the results much like it looks browsing the forums. It gives the title, what forum it is in, who started the topic and so on. “Show results as posts” gives you the entire post to read.

See that's what TotalChoice Hosting is all about, we see a problem, we solve the problem! Critical Mass did a great job on this tutorial. If anybody is confused about what means what inside cPanel this is worth checking out!

So you are looking at your statistics in AWStats and are wondering what all those numbers mean. Hopefully this will clear things up a bit. The first things you will see are; Unique Visitors Number of Visits Pages Hits Bandwidth These can be a bit confusing so here is a brief explanation. Unique Visitors - These are the total number of visits by a unique IP address. This can be a bit misleading because dial-up visitors get a new IP each time they log on so you can have the same person visit different times and give a unique hit. Number of Visits – The number of visits are the total number of visits by all visitors over a given period of time. If I visit your site and then come back 4 more time you should see one Unique visit and 5 visits from me. Pages – This is the total number of pages viewed by visitors. This does not include images, java script or CSS and the like. Just HTML and CGI type files. Hits - This is every file requested by the visitor. This includes pages and images together. If you have a page with 2 images calling a java script file the page will generate a total of 4 hits. The most common referenced stat used and one that is virtually meaningless (and useless). The more appropriate numbers to consider are both 'number of visitors' and 'unique visitors' (see above). Bandwidth – The total number of bytes downloaded. If you have a page that has 50 KB of text, 2 images at 24 and 32 KB then each visitor to that page will take 106 KB of your bandwidth. AWStats then gives you this information for the year so far as well as a 30 and 7 day perspective. Finally it gives it to you by the hour. Next is Visitors Domains/Countries (Top 25)*. This shows you what countries your visitors are coming from, starting with the most and working its way down. * All categories with a Top 10 or 25 have a link to the right of the category that can give you an entire list if there are more than 10 or 25. Following this is the Hosts Top 25. This gives you a breakdown of the top individual visitors to your site. Next is a popular category, Robots/Spider Top 25 visits. Here is a great way to see when your favorite search engine has last visited your site as well as how many hits it has made (again, 'hit' can be misleading here). Although not as popular of a category, the Visits Duration is an important one. Here you can tell how long visitors are staying on your site. Are a vast majority leaving in the first 30 seconds? Maybe it’s time to rethink your sites design or content. Files/Type lets you see what files are generating the most hits. Top 25 Pages – URL gives you the most visited pages on your site. Top 10 Operating Systems shows what Operating Systems your visitors are using in order of popularity. Next is Top 10 Browsers. Like the OS category above, this shows what browsers your visitors are using in order of popularity. Connect to Site From is a multi-part category. It starts with Direct Address/Bookmark. This is the number of visitors that either know the name of your site or have it bookmarked. Links from a newsgroup is just that. Links from an Internet Search Engine gives us a listing of the number of visitors coming from a search engine. Links from Other Web Pages shows what pages your visitors are coming from. This does not mean there is a link to your site on the listed page; it just registers where the visitor was coming from. Links from an Internal Page is self explanatory and Unknown is just that, not known. Next we have our top 10 key phrases and top 25 key words used to find our site. The last two are Miscellaneous and HTTP Error codes. These give miscellaneous information and what HTTP codes are given to your visitors. (many thanks to Critical Mass for this tutorial!)
