  3. But David Lee Roth has totally lost it, man. He is worse off in the head than Ozzy if you ask me. Saw some footage of a tour he and Hagar were doing together and he barely remembered where he was, let alone the words tot he songs. I like both renditions of Van Halen, and would more than happy to see either of them put out some new stuff... Nothing like Jump and When It's Love... both awesome, and both from different leads for a great band.
  4. inserting XML calls, functions and parsing into your PHP text should be little or no different than adding javascript. There may be some limitations to what you can do, per the link provided by Robert. One of the really nice things about XML is that you can open it in a standard IE 5+ browser in the raw, loading from your local drive, and it will tell you immediately where your errors are. No need to wait until it is on the server just to find out you messed up. It really is not a difficult language and is rather human friendly, where most web languages so far have been more machine friendly. Another great pair of sites for learning are www.xml.com and www.xml.org (go figure, huh)... these sites provide a veritable smorgasboard of links to articles and such regarding XML in the real world. Since we are all on Apache servers here, take a look at h*ttp://xml.apache.org/ for some good tips and tricks. And find some good samples here: h*ttp://www-136.ibm.com/developerworks/xml/ ... I had to go through a lot of XML stuff when i started working with a new product a couple of years ago... when XML was just coming in to fashion. Most of it was to display OPC Server data and machine control archives through a web interface, though. By the way... I googled XML, and all of these pages came up in the first 2 pages -GG
  5. Just an FYI ... Jackie is a friend of my wife and me... She is a great lady! Thanks Jax! Welcome to the family!!! -GG
  6. According to CNN.com, Ozzy Osbourne may never perform again. Another sad day in music if you ask me. A legend in his own time and now he is not able to perform thanks to an accident on a four-wheel ATV. www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Music/02/19/people.osbourne.reut/index.html sniff sniff
  7. I am not sure of this but... If the leaked code still contained the hole, then it was leaked SOME time ago, right? I thought that the leak occured only in the last few weeks. If it was old code that was leaked, then the person studying it would have already known about the vulnerability in the code and could have been paying special attention to the code and modules affecting that area. I don't know... either the code has been out a lot longer than we all think it has, or the code is old and probably has most of the problems plugged already?? Or it could all be a hoax that has been fabbed by Microsoft in cooperation with the FBI to get that nasty anti-trust suit ruling overturned because now that the code is in the wild, it can be considered Open Source, LOL.
  8. I was just about to say the same thing as Thomas. It is linking to your webmail. By the way, I just read this thread for the first time. My belated condolences to you and your family. May peace be with you all. -GG

  11. Are you trying to shut down IIS, just World Wide Web service, or restart the box all together? There are scripts and such out there that will do this for you through a web/XML interface. Just google for "Remote IIS shutdown" You could also download and use VNC from AT&T/Bell Labs on your local machine and server to use a sort of Terminal Server session into the box. As VNC is not widely used, it is not really messed with... and it's free. I use VNC all day in my work and it works fine, except while you are in a box, the processor is highly utilized.
  12. Welcome aboard Adnan. I hope Bill doesn't work you as hard as he does the rest of us. Wait... what am I saying??? You're a paid full-timer... you get twice the work!! Now, quit reading this and get back to work. -GG
  13. There is a function in cPanel that allows you to disable Hotlinking called HotLink Protection under the Site Management section. You simply activate this and select the areas you want to protect. -GG

  15. I just did this and it allows me to change items. I will see if I can find anything that might help you. -GG
  16. I have had this script for a while now, and now cannot find it. The action is for image galleries and loading them into a central screen on click What it is: open gallery in a page on the page, thumbnails are surrounding a central background type image when you click on the thumbnail, the image fades into the central image and fills that speace. Any help? I have seen it in some places, but cannot recall where either. ARRRGH!!!

  18. There is the "Add Me to The Family" section. Where, if you follow the instructions (place a link on main page, etc.) TCH will sort of promote your site from their site. There is no charge or payment from this, but it does help to get your site seen. Take a look down the forums a little further and you will see it. Also, on the TCH site, you can easily find the Family Sites. There are some requirements, but the Add Me To The Family link will explain everything to you. -GG
  19. SMTP is only counted against your bandwidth. Keep in mind the Zero-Tolerance SPAM policy, even though it appears you do want to abide by it (asking about double opt-in). I have not worked with MailMan, so I cannot answer those questions for you, but I am sure that someone around here can. Not dealing with the Reseller side, I also don't know about any affiliate program. And searches through the forums has yielded me in thinking that there is not one, per se. Welcome to the site, and I hope to soon be welcoming you to the family! -GG Wel
  20. Not really. A test was run by Sujit in support and IMAP was fine at that moment. I sent a reply stating that the issue is intermittent and that I know it will be hard to see thanks to that. However, I have not had any issues with IMAP since the day after this was posted. Are you still experiencing problems? Above, Mike asked for your domain name so he can look into this. Did you provide him with any info? He really is the one that will be able to get this sort of thing taken care of quickly. Since you do not provide info in your profile that can lead the mods to your server#, it is very time consuming to try and back track to where you are. Give Mike a jingle either in here or through PM's or some other means and he will help you get through this. -GG
  21. What about the POP side of things? Is that working now as well?

  23. I have discussed this with other moderators and they have told me a few things. Mainly that you should have the user visit Ultimate Form Mailer Also, that CGI Email was disabled at some point: Here is info on that Fixed link above -- TCH-Bruce
  24. I have a few friends in India and they tell me that the government controls all the Internet access there to keep from having "inapropriate access" whatever they mean by that. They also tell me that this causes some extra latency on sites as they are put through the filters, until those sites are on some directory of government trusted sites. Not sure as to the total validity of this, but I have heard it from more than one person. They all live in the Bangalore area.
  25. You need to go to the General tab (whatever that is in Swedish) and choose "Selective Startup" Then you should be able to uncheck some of the items. You will notice, though, that Windows will display a message on startup stating that you are in selective startup, and that this mode is typically used for debug, blah blah blah...
