Ok, gotcha. I'll try to take a look around and see if I come up with anything. I'm guessing though that 'freeware' is going to be a stretch.

Without searching, I don't know of any software off hand that will do what you ask, but this is a new field for me. Can I delve and draw a parallel? Are you looking for something similar to shareware purchasing/downloading program maybe? For example, if I buy a piece of shareware, I get an e-mail with a link to a download site/file and a password. I can then click on the link and enter the password to get the file. So whatever backend service that is run from, I would imagine might also work for your scenario (phone # instead of link, pin instead of pass)? Interesting. I imagine that MySQL could certainly be secure enough to work, but also imagine that the frontend would have to ensure that security.

It's good to jump the bad guys for doing something moronic, you know, call them on it. It's admirable for the bad guys to say, "We were morons." It's second chance time, I think. Let's see what Belkin does and how quickly.

List Of Known Spyware Infested Software
Lianna replied to dreamcloudwolf's topic in Program Suggestions
Ok so that was actually pretty funny. When I hit the link to the List of Known Spyware infested apps, my PestPatrol zapper killed two cookie drops! Then when I attempted to close the window, PopupStopper killed a popup window. Now to check the logs: [action:Deleted] Found spyware cookie owner@qksrv[1].txt [action:Deleted] Found spyware cookie owner@doubleclick[1].txt Golly I love PestPatrol! -
Gary, Two quick finds. First, my mobile provider has a nifty little site that includes an online calendar which is also WAP accessible (and editable). I use Cingular and access MyWirelessWindow at: http://www.cingular.com/beyond_voice/beyondmww That site is powered by InfoSpace. I was able to login from my phone and edit the calendar entries and add new ones, etc. Maybe your provider has something similar. Find #2: Webcalng http://www.webcalng.com/ Free trial version allows you to create up to 2 calendars on your own webspace. WAP enabled (autodetect) but the verbage is unclear of how much control you have from the phone. I have it downloaded and will install in a bit to test it. If it works well and I can use my phone to edit/add events, then I'll post back here with any specifics on installation. If you need more than 2 calendars, then the server license version (unlimited cals) is only $59US. Hmmm.

This is all that's in mine....I'm not using the simple guestbook, but following your steps, this is what is displayed: ><html> <title>Default Template</title> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <!--- Don't modify the cgi tag ---> <cgi> <!--- Don't modify the cgi tag ---> </body </html> Hope that helps.

I think I'll put this one on my search list for tonight. Sounds like a worthy application. I am assuming that you'd want to edit and view the calendar from either the phone or the pc browser right? Let me do some hunting! Maybe there would be such an animal that can be installed to your own website? (ie, instead of looking for the service, look for the application.) I'll post back with any findings. Lianna

And being MS construed, it will obviously best fit to another MS application such as Internet Explorer. Think about it? Why would MS go develope something that would create sites that cross browser compatible when they want you and the world to use IE? Ain't no dummies over there.

The other hint: your main page (home page of the site) must be named index.htm (or other appropriate extension such as .html, .php, etc.). Often, websites built with Microsoft products tend to create the pages named Page1.htm and Page2.htm and etc. You will need to rename Page1.htm to index.htm. Then go change the links back to the home page to reflect the page rename. Hope that will help some one even if it isn't your exact problem. What software are you using to create your site?

I Cannot Seem To Get It Right, Sigh ...
Lianna replied to eFashion2Go's topic in Cute Site Builder & Cute FTP
Tara, It doesn't appear that you are still using CuteSITE Builder to create your page? You should be able to use any graphics software to create a logo...although the "how" would be very specific to the software you choose. Buttons and logos - there are a ton of flash generators on the web. One site specifically jumps to mind (and you'll find a gob of other goodies for webmasters there too) at Curtis' site. Good luck! -
Eric, Am I lost? That wouldn't be completely unfathomable, but why would you ditch your email client because of a virus? Beef up your antivirus protection and you should be able to continue with Outlook. I'm using AVG (which is free) for anti-virus protection and it certifies incoming and outgoing mail as virus free or removes it. I am using Outlook. Enlighten me. If there is an obnoxious risk associated with Outlook that I haven't seen, please share so that I can be proactive too. Thanks!

Mitzi, I believe that the monthly recurrence is for the day of the month that corresponds to your original signup date (ie: if you signed up and originally paid on the 24th, then you would be charged again on the 24th of each month). Please submit a help desk ticket if you still do not see the charge. Thanks.

Disallowing Attachments In Mailman Lists
Lianna replied to soundweaver's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Wow, thanks! Now why can't the Mailman documentation point that out? I searched at least 6 different docs and found NO mention of the ability to force no attachments. Great creative thinking! -
Disallowing Attachments In Mailman Lists
Lianna replied to soundweaver's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
After reviewing all the documentation I could find, I do not see where that can be handled through mailman. Sorry. -
Hey there!

Log in to webmail using their address and password. For example, if I have created an email account like johnny@****, then I should be able to login to Squirrellmail or Horde or neo using that as the username (note that you need to use the FULL email address as the username). Hope that helps.

The guts of cPanel is the same regardless of what theme interface is used... My personal choice would be a host that considered the more stable interface the *right* choice.

That's pretty wide open. Can you be more specific about "calendar"? What functions would you like? Do you mean something like just a calendar that you find in the bank register of your checkbook, or something like the Outlook calendar (which can easily be published to your site), or some thing more interactive from online? Big variation here.

Get used to it! Although we know it isn't typical of most hosting companies, we'd like to think it is the standard for our company... Welcome Home!

<Bump> Any frontpage users out there that can enlighten us? Surely someone somewhere has images on a secure page as published by frontpage.

Here's the scoop: If you create a mail account and forward that mail to another, both accounts receive the mail. However, if you only create a forward and not the account, then only the forward recipient gets the mail. Example:I want all mail addressed to me@mydomain to also go to Lianna@mydomain. I create email account: me@mydomain, set forward to Lianna@mydomain Example2: All mail sent to webmaster@mydomain, I want just sent to Lianna@mydomain. I create a forward for webmaster@mydomain to Lianna@mydomain. Does that help?
