You will need to uninstall the previous version, you will not lose any data. The firefox upgrade procedure has been perfected in 1.0PR but not in previous versions. If you just install over you may face weird bugs....

As the docs with MT suggest, 15 mins is the interval. That is what I have set it to, had a tech from TCH check the loads it created whilst running and he confirmed running it every 15 mins is ok...

Thanks Mike. So can I just add that to the end of my current cron command to surpress the errors ? UPDATE: OK I understood how to do it, heh !
-
Is there some way to surpress output from a cron being emailed to you ? I want the output from other crons to be emailed just not from one, is that possible ? I have tried adding >-silent at the end but it makes no difference Thanks

Hi I need to find a contact form that is secure - in the sense that it cannot be abused by spammers. Currently I am using bw-contact but have no idea how secure or insecure it is. I would really appreciate any suggestions to forms that prevent abuse by spammers or a way to work bw-contact to prevent the abuse Thanks

I prefer Firefox because of how much you can extend it .There are many more themes and extensions available for Firefox than for Mozilla. Plus in the near future Firefox will replace the suite. Another reason I don't use the suite is because i don't use half the things in it, I much prefer Firefox + Thunderbird than the Suite !

Installing Apache Web Servr & Php To Winxp Machine
arvind replied to kaseytraeger's topic in Security Discussions
Once you install Apache you will be able to access it via http://localhost/ if you wish to be able to access your machine from the outside world - ie the internet - try setting up an account at http://www.dyndns.org/ or http://www.noip.com A nice quick way to install Apache and PHP (and heckuva lot of other things), check out Apache2Triad http://apache2triad.sourceforge.net/ All the settings are configured and so all you need to do is just point the installed at a directory and boom you've got a full fledged server. Like Raul said you'll need to configure things like firewalls and routers etc. to allow apache to work properly. -
RAWKS !!! ;)

Welcome Hugo Although you had a few problems at the start I'm sure you will love TCH !
-
Well actually I don't care. Like many other people so long as the service stays as good as it is, support uptime etc I'm not really bothered. Although my ISP is incompetent I've not experienced any bandwidth restrictions *phew*
-
Well if you want GMail notifiers, there's an official one from google http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/ the only problem I've been experiencing is the amount of downtime at GMail. They will really need to get more and more stable servers. All too often I get the "Oops system was too busy" or GMail just won't login !
-
Yep this is one of the best extensions, incredibly helpful !

Since you're looking for something so simple I would recommend either WordPress or Blogger. If you're looking for something really basic then blogger is your best bet as with WordPress you can do a lot with it but do need a fairly good knowledge of PHP to get it off the ground ! I personally use Movable Type, but I'm thinking that install and the power it provides are not really what you are looking for until perhaps you get the hang of blogging !
-
Wow that was sooner than I expected. Very Nice *cough* I was thinking of moving away from TCH but had a gut feeling not to, I'm happy I stayed *cough*

Ooh Bruce, that's a new way of doing it but I'm not sure how it'll work with what I've got, I'll give it a shot. Raul that DOM stuff is waay to hard for me to understand how to do it, I copied a block of code from the first link you posted and it didn't work and I really didn't understand how to launch it from a bookmarklet. Would it just be like javascript with the "java script:"
-
I have a number of javascript files that create buttons to add tags into templates. What I want is to be easily able to switch between them using a drop down list, but I don't know how. This is how I want it to work The drop down menu contains a list of the javascript files and when I click one, it loads without me having to reload the page and that way I can easily switch between the files. I hope it is clear how I want it to work ?
-
I don't mind re-loading the whole page if there's an easier way to do it...
-
Yes that's exactly what i want. This is for browsers that don't support content in the sidebar ! There's probably some stupid easy way without requiring javascript, but I've been working on these too long to realize it lol
-
I'm desparate I’m struggling, struggling. Let me lay out what I wish to do and you Javascript writers tell me whether it is possible. For browsers that don’t support content loading in sidebars (eg Opera or Safari) I have created a frames version of MT/WP Tabs. Now I wish to take it to the next level. When someone clicks the bookmarklet for the frames version, I want the current page to appear in the main (right hand side) content with the MT/WP Tabs appearing in the left “sidebar” If you manage to figure out how to do this I will credit you with it on all files that contain your code.

Welcome to the family Hope to see you active in these forums -
You may want to help out the Thunderbird community http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/006152.html Thomas, I use Firefox and Thunderbird separately. I tried the Mozilla suite but much prefer the flexibility and extendibility of having Firefox and Thunderbird rather than the suite ! A good example is looking @ the themes and extensions available (taken from update.mozilla.org) Mozilla Suite Extensions: 49 Themes: 0 Firefox Extensions: 131 Themes: 36 Thunderbird Extensions: 24 Themes: 1 Plus Firefox and Thunderbird are going to be replacing the suite soon !
