That would show the visitor's current date & time is there some way to display the servers data & time through java. And in that process show my date & time by adding a number to the server's !

Optimizing Movable Type for Google A very interesting article on optimizing movable type (for that matter any blogging tool) for google. It mainly focuses on movable type but I'm sure you can customize the tags to suit your blogging tool !

*sighs* Its such a shame Lisa that you've switched. Although MT3 isn't as feature packed as some hoped it is a huge improvement over what it is (yes I know I've changed my mind) The GUI is cleaner, rebuilds are lightning fast and there are a whole set of new experimental features like BackgroundTasks and Typekey. Its a shame you changed.

I know its against the policy, is it acceptable to ask why ? I'm just a bit curious what it does that TCH should have banned it cos other hosts allow it.

MT's default images are stored in the images folder either in your main mt folder or in the static web path you've specified. I have my images however in the public_html folder under images as I prefer thi sorganisation as all my images go there. When you rebuild a page what happens is the current page is wiped and what you've freshly coded is uploaded onto the server. Customization of your blog is completely upto you, you can find many style sheets especially on blogstyles.com Special MT Tags get parsed during rebuild and unless you've posted an incorrect MT tag or a non-existant oe it shouldn't display on the source code of the blog you see. If you use the tag and everything works the way its meant to then you're doing everything correctly Just experiement that's how I learned Movable Type, read the manual especially the bits about templates and template tags to see all of Movable Type's build in tags. Check out mt-plugins.org to see how you can extend the functionality of Movable Type There's lots to do and plenty more once MT3 comes out (keep an eye for that its amazing ) Hope this helps and if you have any more queries don't hesistate to ask

I've heard its spyware and spybot does search for it I think. It ads a toolbar on the top of you IE browser. Good Things well its nice having smilies everywhere, bad things supposedly spyware though TechTV said it wasn't I tried it once but removed it after a while. Its cool at the first then slowly wears out, is an eyesore and increases the size of emails etc.

Although this has nothing to do with TCH I need help setting this up. How would I enable shell access on my PC on which I have installed apache, php etc. ? I'm trying to install an eggdrop bot for IRC and the Installation Instructions aren't at all helpful please help

I just wanted to know, since there's this whole re-design thing could TCH bring out some buttons for us to put on our site ? New logo and all and please especially like the antipixel style ones see attached image

Love the new site design, only problem is that s the top is loading the tabs load first and if you hover over them nothing shows until the whole top flash animation has loaded. You might think of splitting them up into the menu flash and logo flash so that it idoesn't function like this. Another thing with the top bar when you however over a tab and the neu popups up and you move your mouse over the links it might be an idea to have the link over which the mouse is to be highlighted. Otherwise superb work a definite improvement over the previous site. Looks brighter, friendlier, warmer Especially love the new logo (maybe its time to bring it to the forums ?)

I need something called GD.pm installed just wanted to know whether it has been installed on TCH Servers ? the reason I ask is because I was having troubles installing this MT Plugin i've edited the necessary files uploaded everything you can see it on my blog's individual archive pages but t wont work correctly

Put the line "Options All -Indexes" in the .htaccess file in your public_html directory to disable indexes for your entire site, or put it in individual .htaccess files in their appropriate directories to turn it off for specific directory trees. Thanks Mike worked like a charm saves me having to use the cpanel index manager

Your ISP's proxy server is probably blocking port 2083. That error you are showing in your earlier post is not coming from the TCH server (it's probably coming from the ISP's proxy server). It looks like they block HTTPS to non-standard ports. Contact your ISP for assistance on that. I seem to have found the problem, when it poped up the thing verifying the certificate I said rather than temporarily I said permanently accept it and that's what cut me access. I did that on server56 and now the same error message is popping up. I sthere some way I can delete this certificate off my computer?
