  1. By Jove, I think she has it!
  2. Have you taken a look at your logs? Do you see any direct queries to your web pages from the offending site? Have you looked at thier page code? Are they putting your content in an invisible iframe, which would display YOUR data on YOUR page within the confines of their web page which may not have any other content? If so, you could put a break frame script on the top of your page to force your page to load YOUR site. <script language="JavaScript"> if (window != top) top.location.href = location.href; </SCRIPT>
  3. Don't have all the products mentioned but got all the info anyway. May come in handy later. Thanks for the tip!
  4. You are describing a PRELOADER. Once of the best flash resources is http://www.flashkit.com. The forum offers many tutorials, samples, etc. Suggest you do a search for preloader in the tutorials to see what comes up for the program version you are using. What's nice is that they have forums for other flash software like Swishmax and Swift3d, etc. so it is a one stop shop for everything flash.
  5. Bookmark a site called Copyscape http://www.copyscape.com/. It will help you search for similar content on another site. I know it works for text and it might also identify images. It is true that anything you place on your site has the potential to be taken. Even basic photo programs can do a capture of your web page images.
  6. Welcome to the forum, mummymax
  7. Welcome to the forum! Easily resolution for this would have been to go to this support page for CuteSITE Builder. On the right side are replacement downloads for versions 3, 4 and 5. Redownload version 4 then scroll down that same page to find a link to recover a serial number! Each version, each license has a separate serial number so your serial number for version 4 would not work on version 5. If you have not done much editing in the version 5 file, you could drop back to version 4 using the last working version of the CSB 4 tlx file. Uninstall v5 and put in v4 instead. You get a few nice things with the last version so why not just buy the upgrade while it is still available? GlobalSCAPE also has a very good CSB specific forum to assist with many other CSB users too. Check it out when you get the chance.
  8. SSI can solve a multitude of problems. Glad you got it working. And no...talking to yourself is not the first sign of madness. That would probably be when you start talking back from a second personality
  9. I currently am using simple IE6 settings to limit to "approved sites" on one machine as a test and it works fine for stopping access (as long as only IE is used for access and we only use IE here at the office). I showed it to my boss at first she thought that was fine. But she is afraid that is limiting too much and does not want to be a hard***. She would like to be able to allow internet at lunch times, etc but not during rest of the work day so has now asked me to revise my requirements to track usage instead and fall back on approved site list only when absolutely necessary. Totally different concept! I will mention your suggestion for the firewall/router settings and let her know your experience.
  10. Our business uses sites on the internet to produce freight calculations (UPS, etc) and other reasons too. But some of the people in our company are abusing the ability to use the web and spending WAY TOO MUCH time playing games and other activities. We want to limit access to specific sites only on a couple machines. I've looked at a couple of programs that are designed for parents to control childern activity. But I'd rather have a program we could put on our server and be able to control internet based on IP or workstation activity. If not, then standalone software would be fine. I've googled without much success. Does anyone employ such software? Recommendations would be appreciated as this is not my expertise!

    Sad News

Paul, I am sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.
  13. CSB started life as another program called Trellix. The company that started the program was bought out by another company who then LEASED the rights to the program to GlobalSCAPE. GlobalSCAPE changed the name and released the program under the name CuteSITE Builder (CSB). Now after several years, and 3 versions of the CSB program the current OWNERS of the software web.com have not allowed GlobalSCAPE to continue to lease the software. Though there are many spectulated reasons for the situation one of the most obvious is that web.com offers the ONLINE version of Trellix and probably doesn't want any further confusion with the old Trellix pc program! SO...What does this mean to the users of CSB? 1) You can only purchase CSB up until June 30, 2006 then GlobalSCAPE must stop selling it. This is bad news for anyone wishing to upgrade after June 30, 2006 because they will be stuck with the version they have. 2) GlobalSCAPE can and will continue to SUPPORT the program they have been selling for years in a few ways as stated in their announcement. For example, if you have CSB processed forms on your site they will continue to work for at LEAST a couple more years through their form server. The user forum and the knowledge base will be available for AT LEAST another year. 3) The program will continue to work in your pc and can be reinstalled if necessary onto another computer in the future. GlobalSCAPE says "Registration and activation services for existing licenses will remain available indefinitely." so that is no problem either. 4) Whether or not GlobalSCAPE is selling CSB to new users, YOUR COPY will continue to generate HTML that browsers can read and interpret. Your web pages will not suddenly break any time soon! Browsers are moving forward in capabilities but that does not mean that within the next year or two people will not be able to view your sites! Browsers must be backward compatible so that millions of sites do not suddenly become inoperable at the same time! 5) There is no immediate need to run off to another program! If you want to try other things, that's fine go ahead. But don't do it out of panic and worry as that is not at all necessary! Learning HTML is a good idea but working with another WYSIWYG program would be nice. NVU might fit that just fine. 6) There are two UNOFFICIAL support sites for CSB/Trellix and both are still accessible. I can definitely tell you that samisite.com (my tutorial site) is not going anywhere! KW's other support site csbsupport.com has been around longer than mine! Don't know his plans but I expect his site will remain up too.
  14. GlobalSCAPE will no longer have a legal license agreement to continue to develop or to sell the CSB products! If you are using CSB 3 or 4 and may be interested in the final version of the software (offers some nice new features), get it now because the last day that GlobalSCAPE can sell it to you is June 30, 2006! Even if you are not ready to upgrade yet but might want it, buy now or lose out on that last version! The official notice is posted here. And ongoing discussion thread on topic is here.
  15. Welcome to the forum!! I was going to suggest checking for a block. (My work IP got blocked from our business site once and it took only minutes to fix! ) And yes, from Central Florida, loads fine.

    I Am Lost

At less than $4/mo if you pay for a year at a time, it is a terrific value, cost-wsie. And the support on this forum is priceless! Like others, I have used many hosts. TCH is in a class of it's own. Once you have your domain name, and a hosted webspace to go with it, you will need to upload (send) your files to the website so other people can see them. Using the basic functions of an FTP program is easy and many programs to do that are free! Let us know when you have your account and we will help you load your pages and images!
  17. Welcome to the Forums!
  18. Many of the image programs allow you to experiment with layers, textures and lighting. Many have built in effects that blur, stretch, allow you take an ordinary photo and make it unique for your site. Sometimes the best images come out of experimentation with a new technique and falling into something special by accident! The final key to web images: keep them as light as possible for loading. You may create a masterpiece in your photo program but after you have saved it, make an additional copy (through file save as or export) of a jpg format that has been optimized for the web. This keeps the look of the image while making it smaller size and faster to load.
  19. LOL....that's why I made the comment about the sweat! Remember that irritated skin will break out easier and take more time to heal! Harsh products are NOT better for your skin than gentle ones. They can actually make the problem worse, stepping up the cycle. The only other tip I can give you: NEOSPORIN, with pain relief is your FRIEND for acne that is overly tender/sensitive. Antibacterial and soothing, it helps to heal inflamation MUCH faster than without! Wash face, use regular day or night lotion, then on the area that is inflammed or hurting, dab Neosporin on it (pat excess off with tissue). Very effective at night, but can be done in the day too. I use the ointment when necessary and it's equally good on a torn cuticle that stings!
  20. Love to hear about another satisfied customer!

    I Need Help

Welcome to the forum and hopefully the family too! At less than $4/mo if you pay for a year at a time, it is a terrific value, cost-wsie. And the support on this forum is priceless! Once you have your domain name, and a hosted webspace to go with it, you will need to upload (send) your files to the website so other people can see them. That's easy! You can use a free program to do that. Thomas has posted a list of FTP program that can be used to upload your files to the website. Some tutorials are also shown on how to use them. 22. Have been through antibiotics, accutane, light box treatments and many things throughout my life for acne. Luckily, I have no scarring! But I still have very fair skin that is affected by stress and hormone changes. For years I have been away from prescriptions and I keep it mainly under control with Neutrogena products that seem far less harsh than many I have tried. I have never used ProActive but someone I work with did and did not like the results. But every person is different. You might like it. You might try the Neutrogena Advanced solutions: "This system contains 3 products that work differently, but together help shut down the acne cycle. With salicylic acid to unclog pores, benzoyl peroxide to kill acne-causing bacteria and a day lotion to soothe and protect skin" Best results are achieved: -Keep skin CLEAN morning and evening! Don't go to bed without washing your face! - Drink lots of water. Hydration is very important - Changing pillow case OFTEN can make a world of difference. - Most important: Don't touch your face!!! That means don't rest your head in hands, place chin in hands, keep phone or other equipment away from chin when at all possible. By the way SWEAT is GREAT for your skin!!! It naturally flushes your pores!!! DON'T rub grime into your face. Pat if you need to wipe away sweat or dirt but do not rub as it pushes the crud into the pores causing a clog making it harder for ANY ointment, topical cleaner or medication to work. Good Luck!
  23. Dear Mrs. Fenton, Over the past six months, your husband, Mr. Bill Fenton has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this type of behavior and have considered banning the entire family from shopping in any of our stores. We have documented all incidents on our video surveillance equipment. Three of our clerks are attending counseling from the trouble your husband has caused. All complaints against Mr. Fenton have been compiled and are listed below. Mr. Wally Zimbrowski, Complaint Department for (edited: large discount department store) MEMO Re: Mr. Bill Fenton - Complaints - 15 Things Mr. Bill Fenton has done while his spouse/partner is shopping: 1. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door and waited a while; then, yelled, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here!"
  24. I love that photo! My cats pound on the window trying to get to lizards and dragonflies that spend time on the sill. If they did that it would scare the bird away.
  25. I got the idea from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. They have a beautiful area for the flamingos and other birds that is wide open to the sky. Local birds have clipped wings so they can hop around a bit but not fly away. Yet no ducks and other non-resident birds land in the pond or around it. I asked a zoo keeper how this is done. He pointed to the top of four 12 ft tall posts. They used clear fishing line to string a large horizontal "X" over the top of the pond. Since the line was clear, humans below did not see it until they knew it was there, but the invading birds would shy away from the area because of the confusion. Even though theirs was a horizontal X and mine would be vertical I thought the concept would be the same. It was. 10 years later, I still do the same little trick. No damage to my home or birds. Safe, quiet, non-intrusive fix to a major headache.
