Have you protected your router so other people in the neigborhood will not be able to get on your network and 'borrow' your bandwidth? I did it for a short time at my mother's house, using her neighbor's high-speed connection while my mother was online using dialup! As a courtesy, I told her neighbor to close it or eventually he would have so many surfers and his own connection would drag. He was AMAZED that someone across the street, inside another house, could actually connected to his home network!

Your own SSL looks more professional. Looks more like a business than a hobby.

Looks like the Yahoo database goofed because nothing in the coding of the page refers to your site or to your topics. But when you look at the view source of the cached page that they list, it definitely has your website address as the cached site on record. First time I have seen it!

It does not matter for YOUR site if outgoing links have been removed. It can effect the receiving site's rankings. It DOES matter to YOUR ranking if the incomping links you had are no longer there. If 300 sites were all linking to you and now they are not, it will impact your ranking. Especially if those sites are well established and have good rankings on similar topics. To see who is linking to your site go to google and type in: links: reiki-seichim-masters-australia.com I see about 35 (Started this post and got called away before I could hit submit...when I got back, found it had already been answered )

I can now Besides a drawing, maybe a couple photos showing the connections (to make sure all cords are going where they should) would be helpful since we can not see what you see.

Redirect Parked Domains To Main Domain
Samrc replied to ryanstu's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Welcome to the forum, Thomas. -
Were they all linking back to your page? Did they stop linking to you? THAT will impact your ranking. Incoming quality links are what get you ranked well so if you can convince those people to keep the links to your site, it will help.

You can use the shared SSL certificate or purchase one of your own. This comes from the TCH HELP pages:

Deverill, Since you and I are in Florida, I am not surprised that you got it too! Just glad he brought it to you, questioning the authenticity. should be! But no...they BOLDED the fact that they have a 1-year renewal included in the services. When someone falls for the scam and pays the fee, I wonder if they have a fee to release the customer when they finally want to move away for them for domain renewal? NOTE: The fax that caused the post came from a site that CLAIMS to be an SEO. I looked at their site and they claim to be a reputable SEO company that offers guarantees of satisfaction, etc. The majority of the faxes that try to get us to pay for domain renewal, domain registration, website listing, etc are from people CLAIMING to be from SEO companies. Please do not take this thread as criticism of SEO companies! That is not the intent! My intent was to warn against scams, not SEO companies! In my experience, it is not the usual business practice for legit SEO companies to send out unsolited faxes (spam) that mascarade as invoices!

I agree. If an email is plain text with a URL in it to http://www.somewebsite.com, I may choose to use that address/link if it interests me. If however the link says CLICK HERE FOR and I can not see the destination....I dump it! Phishing emails are another good example of the HTML bad guys. They SAY they are going to your bank or Paypal or ebay, etc but in fact they are sending the user to some other hidden destination! Makes you distrust anyone who is not willing to post the address in full view!

Today we received yet one more officially looking fax that states: FORWARD TO ACCOUNTS PAYABLE DEPARTMENT for Annual Review This fax has an important looking seal, language that appears to refer to an ongoing arrangement for website monitoring bundle that includes the renewal of our domain. "It's that time of the year again..." The document ends with an electronic (bank routing number) style long 26 digit number on the payment coupon that should be returned with payment. Very real looking. The service is semi-annual payment of $263.97 ($659.34/year). I GUARANTEE that many people do not know what it is and just pay it because it refers to renewal of the domain! In very fine print they state that "...this is a marketing offer and you are under no obligation to pay..." Anyone in business should warn accounts payable departments to be very watchful to capture these phony bills as they are not related to your hosting service, your domain service or any other service you have purchased. They are fishing for new clients in an unethical way. We protect ourselves by having anything to do with phone, internet, website going through ONE person that can weed out the real information from the phony ones.

I've used SpreadSheet Converter a few times and had great success with it. Complicated formulas translate well. Will check out the google item too.

Glad to hear you'll be coming on board!!

No code change needed for this one. Your website put a COOKIE on your computer. Remove it and you can vote again. (You can clear all cookies or manually just prune out your own website's cookie from your computer, your choice). You can reset/clear stats if needed in the ADMIN area of the script. Haven't ever tried it behind password protection. Maybe someone else has.

Weclome to the forum! I have used many hosts. TCH is top notch for commitment to excellence and speed. Lets face it. All hosts use computers! And computers can have glitches! Even the best, newest equipment. All hosts will come under attack by spammers, etc. MANY hosts will not acknowledge when a server has a problem. TCH posts notices on the forum that a server is undergoing maintenance. Then while the work is being done, updates are posted. As a customer, I KNOW what is being done and how long the expected downtime will be. TCH is unusual in this regard! These forums are extensive and issues like installation of applications, coding, etc are handled here with others that have already implemented them. Hope you sign on as a family member.

The Advanced Poll script has an ADMIN panel so you don't have to go to those docs. Settings and adjustments are done through the Admin panel, making it faster and EASIER to handle. From my earlier post: Now that you understand that you do not edit the template docs, but edit in the ADMIN panel, you should be able to get things to work the way you want. Just go back and follow the instructions posted earlier and you'll be fine! Let us know your progress!

Sometimes you just need to look on the page. Go to the TEMPLATES section. Once there, look for: default: > Poll View > Poll Result > Comment Click Poll View to make it active, then codes will be for the poll table itself. Click Poll Result to make it active, then codes will be for the result table.
-
I edited two areas. - Go to the Templates section. I modified the default template. Click the words POLL VIEW to see the code that will automatically be used by your poll. I only changed the display footer on this template. Instead of the line with the software version, I put this line in: <center><font face="$pollvars[font_face]" size="1">Thank you for voting!</font></center> Changes you make in here can be seen by clicking Preview. Click the words POLL RESULTS to see the code that will automatically be used by your poll after someone votes. I changed the result loop and the display footer on this template. I had space to go long but not wide so I wanted the % bar to show below the text instead of beside the text. Changes you make in here can be seen by clicking Preview. Just to be sure you understand....you will NOT be pasting any of the code you see in the Template area into your webpages. This code is used by the script. You will only be pasting the code mentioned in the earlier post.

Glad your issues are resolved!

Coffecup offers a simple Flash program. I use SwishMax. Flash created with any program will work in CSB. Use either method 1 or 2 shown on this page to insert flash into your web page.

Once you have installed the script, you need to go to your admin panel. Have you done that? Lets say you installed the script in a subdirectory called polls, you would find your admin panel like this: http://yourtchdomain.com/polls/admin You will need the username/password combo that you assigned during the installation process to get in. Once inside, you will have several options for your templates, creating a poll, settings, etc. - Create a poll. - Go to the Templates section and look at the PREVIEW. You can adjust the code that is offered but before doing so, I recommend you make a copy of the original. - Go to the General Settings to adjust the size of the question/result table, the title of the poll, etc. and if necessary go back into the Templates area again to preview your adjustments, etc. (this step will take you the longest) - Go to the POLL LIST - To the right of the poll you just created is a white notebook icon that says HELP on rollover. Click that icon to get the code you place into any webpage to have the poll show on it. Your web page can have lots of extensions, including a regular htm or html extension and does not need to be a php page! But you MUST put part of the code at the VERY BEGINNING of the web page, even before your <html> or head section: <?php // Important! You have to include it before your html code include_once "/home/use_your_code_NOT_this_sample/public_html/polls/poll_cookie.php"; ?> Then put the other part ANYWHERE in the page body where you want your poll to appear: <?php include_once "/home/use_your_code_NOT_this_sample/public_html/polls/booth.php"; echo $php_poll->poll_process(4); ?> I made a simple poll, used the technique I mention above, placing my poll code onto a blank page. Then I pull that blank page into my home page via an IFRAME. This allows the visitor to submit an entry and see a result in the same spot. No refreshing of the whole page!!! You can see it on my little personal site samisite.com

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! The best part about this: You'll never do that again! FYI: the blushing smilie is 3rd one down on the 3rd column of the smilies. To get to see them go to the bottom of the smilie window and use the little side to side scrollbar on the bottom. That's where the dancing guy is too!

Try clearing your temporary internet files and then look at your site again. You may be looking at a stored copy of the page in your own computer. You might also consider changing your setting in Internet Explorer to make it refresh the page on every visit, always seeing current content instead of pulling from cached pages in your temporary files. From the browser's top menu choose: Tools, Internet Options, on GENERAL TAB, Temporary Internet SETTINGS, click the first bullet for EVERY VISIT PAGE, Ok, Ok.
