  4. I am guessing that you could create an easy php script that would pickup any file in a particular folder and insert it into the database for you. You could get the script to empty the table first and you can password protect the folder. As such, you would have to build that kind of script, but I am sure with a bit of hunting there is one out there for you. I don't know if its any help, there used to be a script called table manager which may allow simple access to the database, you would have to check it out though to see if it fits the bill JimE
  5. Hello, At current we have a mix, although we are slowly upgrading. It could be either a "DELL Quad Processor 2.4GHz Intel Xeon" or a "Dual processor, AMD Opteron™ Processor 242, 1603.657 MHz". Whatever you get, it will be blistering fast, so I would not worry with it not being up to the job, its more then up to the job and beyond! JimE
  6. Hello Nat, I have not used the latest version, but I have previous versions in a corperate environment. Whilst its very handy to control what people are doing, it does require the person using it to have some understanding of how a web page goes together, and also, you would need a licence for each client which could become costly. More in the PM i sent you this morning JimE
  7. Hello, Please, don't stop asking questions, its the only way to learn and we do not mind at all, no matter how many you post! JimE
  8. First off, make sure all mail that is not sent to that address is deleted. You can use the :fail: command in cpanel for this. Also, if this is not your main account address, set the mail box to 1mb big If you want to disable all mail on your TCH, please start a support desk ticket who will be able to do what you want JimE
  9. Congrats Tim, welcome to the team!
  10. Hello, You can indeed run Word press and joomla together! Link JimE
  11. Hello, Yes it does show occasionally people logged in more then once, the newly modified session (part of 1.0.8) is to blame, but does not cause any problems. I believe this will be slowly ironed out over the next few releases. JimE
  12. Welcome Tom and Alex, to the TCH family JimE
  13. I haven't tried version 8, but I prefer netobjects fusion to Frontpage any day of the week. For thoose starting off, its a great way to do things. As you say, some bits like the gallery are really quite handy JimE
  14. Welcome to the forums. I use Irfranview too, really amazing program. Remember that if you want each frame, most have about 24-32 frames per sec, so your 24 sec clip could have 768 frames which is huge! JimE
  15. As TCH-Tim says, open a support ticket for this issue please. JimE
  16. Hello, I have run since day dot when it appeared ZoneAlarm Free, which has only once gave me a problem when the power failured duing an upgrade. I also run AVG free antivirus and run weekly checks with Spybot and Lavasofts adware. Also, one of the handiest programs I have ever come accross is "HijackThis" which is a program which scans your registery for anything untoward. Now this is a seriously powerful bit of kit, so please be careful, it can easily ruin your computer. With this setup, my computer has been safe for years. I do get the odd adware or virus cropping up but with the scanners doing there job, its instant and off to the bin for that program so everything is safe. With regard to pagefile, that all depends on how many programs, threads etc you have running on your computer and also how much physical memory you have running. As a general rule of thumb, your page file (or virtual memory, both mean the same thing) should be 1.5x times the size of your normal physical memory unless you have a vast amount of memory. Running at 1 gig, I have a page file of 1 gig which seems to work ok for me. Yours sounds ok to me too. JimE
  17. From my experience in web design, there should be a single way to contact you which is always the best, and this address should not be easily available, e.g. should be held in a php file which is called when a contact form is processed. Email that is not directley addressesed is always going to be 99.999999% spam. Jim
  18. Welcome to the team Sami! JimE
  19. Welcome to the forum, I am glad you have it all working now! JimE
  20. If your running XP with SP2, disable windows highly annoying "wireless wizard" and run through all the settings manually. If you can, remove the authentication for a moment and try connecting without out it. If it works, then all is good and its a problem with the authentication which makes it easier to pinpoint. With wireless, always start off basic and build yourself up. JimE
  21. Please open a support ticket, the tech support gurus will be able to help you with this one JimE
  22. Welcome to the family, any problem, any time, just post here! JimE
  23. No one is a pest, everyone wants to learn so don't stop asking! JimE
  24. Hello Sandra, Its possible give or take a small amount to get most of Joomla not to show. If you have upload the component and its showing in the component tab, then the next step will be to make a link to access it. If you go to menu manager and select the menu, you want to edit, you will need to find the icon to edit the menu items. Once you are in this, goto "new", then "link to component", then choose the newely installed component and give it a name and then click "save". Reload your front page and you should havea link to the new shoping cart. JimE
  25. Hey wampthing, How did you go with this? Any luck? JimE
