  1. Not sure if they have published one, but see if the "...For Dummies" books put one out for PHP. I love these!
  2. Don't ya just hate those small semi-colons? They seem to ALWAYS find me somehow...usually just when I get to the point of starting to pull out my hair! Glad you got it working!
  3. The first thing I'd suggest is to ask the help desk to verify your username and password and make sure everything is okay on the server.
  4. Happy B-day Alexander!
  5. A big welcome to Joaquin and nevamore. As you have already seen, we're just one big family here. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
  6. PHP is a pretty powerful language to make website creation and maintenance easier. Books and practice are how most of us learned it! I've dabbled a bit myself and really enjoy it! Good luck and if you have any questions, ask away here in the forums. We have some really good "guru's" out there!
  7. departu, welcome to the forums!
  8. People like computers, but they don't (want to?) stop and think about the technology behind the machines or learn how to do anything else but point and click. I think it's a lot like cell phones. When they first came out, people wanted nothing to do with them. Now, most people can't live without them (myself included). However, how many people actually use more than 3 or 4 features that are available on their phones? But they'll gladly pay $150+ to buy the phone with the latest and greatest gadgets on it...even if they will NEVER use it. Personally, I prefer to pay for only the things I'll actually need and use...like software and OS's. Give me a choice in saying what I want. If I can get something for free that will do the same thing as something that costs $200+...well...
  9. Welcome illogical! You can edit the file Andy was talking about using the File Manager found in your cpanel. Then follow the rest of the information above.
  10. If you have a lot of email addresses on your site, you may want to check out this page. It encodes the email addresses so bots can't crawl through and find them in your source code. I have all of the email addresses on my site encoded through this and, while I do receive SOME spam, it is the exception rather than the rule.
  11. As a former ISP help desk person, I can certainly relate!
  12. FWIW...it's always easier to be PROactive than REactive.
  13. Looks good from florida!
  14. Welcome to the forums. As jnull said, could you post the URL. I have a suspicion what may be the cause, but would need to look at the source code.
  15. Several books by Agatha Christie. (Think I've just about read them all!)
  16. How many of the statements on this link can YOU identify with?
  17. Welcome to the forums!
  18. Welcome to the forums. I'll also second Bruce's suggestion to go with Ultimate Form Mail. I have it running on my site and haven't had any problems with it (other than what I caused ). You can configure it as much or as little as you wish. I think you'll find it quite useful!
  19. Welcome to the forums!
