  1. Welcome to the forums. You might want to double check the case of the filename (UPPER CASE or lower case). Linux is case-sensitive and in your explanation of your issue, you spelled SLUGS both ways. (A minor thing I know, but trying to cover all bases!) Are we to assume it's a PHP bulletin board?
  2. If the propagation hasn't happened yet, be patient. If it has and your still having problems, check out the links on this page. And like Lisa says, as much info as you can provide can help those with the knowledge solve the problem more quickly!
  3. A big welcome to another Steve!
  4. This is also a good reason to make sure you perform regular backups of your data!
  5. I second Bob's suggestion...as much plug-n-play as you can have windows do for you, the better off you'll be. As a side note, I would also strongly suggest investing in a book or two on networking. As an example, I have several of the "For Dummies" books that I have used extensively. (I can hear all the laughter out there ) In all honesty, they are generally pretty well written and explain things in easy to understand concepts. Keep us informed as to how you're doing and don't hesitate to ask more questions. That's how ALL of us learned!
  6. What kind of operating system? What type of computers (CPU, etc.)?
  7. Welcome to you new home, fsefco!
  8. Welcome to your new home Ayman!
  9. Have you tried the online instructions found here? And welcome!
  10. Thanks for the info! (Filed away in the back of the brain for future use! )
  11. True!!! I just wish I had that much money to contribute to worthwhile causes!
  12. Must be nice to be able to throw that much money their way!
  13. Strange! I don't have that folder on my site. Is there anything in that directory? Maybe one of the other family members may know something about this.
  14. Good point...I'm using Acrobat 5 on my desktop without any problems. I'll have to try it out on the company laptop tomorrow (it has Acrobat 6 I believe).
  15. Glad to hear things are up and running for you. Sometimes databases decide to be stubborn! Welcome to your new home. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask!
  16. Welcome peachweb! You'll find lots of ideas here. If you need anything, just ask!
  17. Congrats, RobertM! (Maybe I need to change my name! )
  18. Hmmm...strange. I'm using 1.0 and haven't had a lick of problems...even viewing pdf files. FWIW, it works great for me in both Windoze and Linux.
  19. Thanks everyone! I'll try not to screw up too badly! Seriously, I'm really looking forward to this. Should be a lot of fun and I'll get to meet a LOT of new people, too! I can always change my name, Bunni!
  20. Can the system see/read the network card or is it a dialup connection? Are the current drivers installed? Are you able to do a tracert from the command prompt?
  21. Don't feel bad! That's how we all learn! Glad you got it up and running!
  22. I second Thomas' post on Ultimate Form Mail. You can customize it as little or as much as you want to. Plus they have a forum that you can post questions to and receive assistance almost as fast as on TCH! I use it on my site and have not had any problems with the script itself. (Note: The problems I did have were self inflicted! )
  23. Sounds a little like Micro$oft!
  24. TCH has tutorials on the subject at this page.
  25. Unfortunately, what the kids nowadays see in the "Professional" ranks they try to imitate. They think that it's part of the game, I guess. Fortunately, strictly soccer speaking, many experienced referees are wise to it and laugh at they when they don't succeed! In High School games here in Florida, players are cautioned. (A caution for those non-players in the forums...2 cautions equal you watch the rest of the game from the locker room.) In high school, when a player receives a caution, he/she must leave the field. So it really embarasses them when they do something like that.
