the simplest plan will work with either. There are a bunch of threads on forum4bloggers.com that go over this, if you want to read through that. I, personally, don't like either of 'em. I use EE but for free, I prefer Textpattern. MT is a strange conglomeration of Perl and PHP. Wordpress just never meshed with my sense of how things should work. Just my personal opinions. Good to see you around....

Do you need to upload many photos, or is this more a matter of an image for an article, etc? If the latter, then I believe that Wordpress has a file upload utility to include an article with each post. If the former -- I'm not really sure. We have some Wordpress users here that may be able to offer more insight. =)

Check out this site and other possible ways of doing this are listed here. =)

This is the original quote from Mark Twain: "If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. Just fyi!

MT is probably one of those more complicated systems out there - in part due to its flexibility. I use EE and it is far more powerful than EE but it also has a bit of a learning curve due to that. Wordpress and Textpattern, on the other hand, are easy and straightforward to set up. PHP scripts in general tend to be easier to install as well, in my experience. There are a host of other systems out there, as well. It depends what features you want and/or need and how much customizability you desire. For pure blogging I'd be tempted to go with Wordpress or TXP, though. =)

The mods here do not have access to the servers, and the techs do not monitor the forums, so you'll need to submit a ticket to the Help Desk with that information so that they can have a look. Thank you,

You'll need to submit a ticket to the Help Desk to have this looked into. Also moving for organization. =)

Yes, the promotion is still going - or this post would be updated. =) Just submit a ticket and let them know. =)
-
Yes, you definitely should. =)

There are a bunch of scripts that do this, in either CGI or PHP. We don't offer one via the control panel but you can probably find one over at hotscripts.com and install that. =) Also, moving for organization.

You'll need to submit a ticket to the Help Desk as the mods don't have access to people's accounts. Thank you. =)

The IPB search is a bit finicky, but you can use AND or OR to seperate keywords or join them. =) Let me know if you need more help with it, it's just how the software works though.

Same thing you wrote in this post - mainly that you just moved from another host with cpanel, and ask them what info they need to attempt the move. =)
-
If your host doesn't allow it - post back here and I'll take you through how I moved here, because I didn't know about the direct cpanel -> cpanel option.
-
Here's one locally hosted solution: PHP Shout Box And I used to run Webfroot's Shoutbox which was nifty. =)
-
If the other host ran cpanel and allows it, then our Help Desk techs can do a direct transfer, which is the easiest. You may want to submit a ticket and give that a shot. =)
-
I was able to on my PC ages ago; I had one ring for people on my contact list and another for people not on it, etc. Can you find the option for it at all?
-
You should still be able to get to cpanel via the first link you posted - the IP address/cpanel. Is the new domain supposed to be the main domain for the account and point to the root of your site? You can't point it to a sub-folder unless you're a reseller, it's against the AUP. If it is pointed to the root of your site and cpanel isn't working, you'll need to submit a Help Desk ticket to have it sorted out. =)

Yea, the head of Mozilla Europe, if you go to page 7 you'll see there is a rumour that the Mozilla Europe board approved said extension. Plus, it is an official extension, included in all builds - so their responsibility; unlike the third party extensions. I have no opinion on this right now, but it will be interesting to see it unfold.

But if you're really worried, you should make sure your anti-virus programs have the latest definitions. Not by clicking that attachment, that is for sure.

Well, yes, you do need something to redirect. Happy you got it working! -

In what way and using what exact code did you set up the redirect? -
Change Subdomain Folder Location
LisaJill replied to Mixerguy's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I think that the idea here is easier organization and finding of information. I can see doing this if I were to run a family website (which I am not!) - I have a fairly active website with many folders already; so having a family subdirectory with a folder for each member under that would make things a lot easier to find. Much like I havve folders under my images directory for images of a specific purpose. That said, I don't know hot to do this without using .htaccess. =/ -
Yes, we are a pretty diverse and eclectic group, aren't we?

Have you seen the BlogHosts Refugee Special? To take advantage of the move you'll need to submit a ticket to the Help Desk and they will let you know what to do to proceed.
