  1. Scott, If you are referring to the fact that I had 460 visitors from a Google link in the month of July and 1422 in August then the answer is yes. No something I find interesting is that AWStats says my most common key phrase is a word yet ranks 8th most common out of the key words. I thought a phrase was a series of 2 or more words, no? Also as a general rule of thumb just because that phrase is the most popular, if it does not represent my site as a whole do I still want to make those changes to my site? It is just a product that was searched for the most.
  2. Deliverance
  3. Welcome aboard Jim!
  4. Ok, I am still learning. I am sure that the number in that bar and my site more than doubling visitors is more than a coincidence right? By the way, doubling isnt that much to some of you, I went from just over 800 unique last month to over 1800 and have more than trippled sales so I am happy with it. On a side note Scott, I do read what you write, I just do it at 2am so I have to read it a few more times to have it sink in. Ask HG, we have the same sleeping habits. I will understand someday. It will probably be the same day my wife stops saying "Would you act your age?".
  5. Eric, Nothing wrong with the question or if a trend gets started so please dont take it as a bad thing. I was just trying to address the next question that came to my mind.
  6. I was only asking because it was in a Trivial Pursuit question tonight. I am satisfied enough but I am sure many are interested.
  7. Bill, I thought we had agreed to tell Eric his site was on a dedicated dial-up server in Thailand . Oh well. I am going to guess the questions are going to start comming in about "where is my server?". Do we have a place where we can all see the location of our sites?
  8. Stefan, Thanks for the kind words. Often its the "little" things that make it great here. It's the bits of information you wouldnt find elswhere, or the extremely helpful community. Even the fact that Bill comes on here and posts amazes me. I'm glad you found us, welcome home.
  9. I use Googles Toolbar, it shows the PR.
  10. HG? I dont think you could have TD's babies. That is unless you are Arnold and Ivan Reitman is running the show.

Can you log into Cpanel with that username and password?
  12. Hey, I got a 4 too. Cool! Congrats Mr. Bill, time to party.
  13. Wow, thanks Jim. I learned something new today besides Japanese. Thanks!
  14. On the private registration. It keeps down on the SPAM as well. Also DBP makes it incredibly secure, most of the time your information can not be given out without a court order. Read the rules of the road though to be sure its what you want.
  15. Bigscreen, I am a huge reader of the forums. Just look at who is online and you will almost always see my name there. I think I learn something new here almost every day. I think we have a great diversity of knowledge here and would also enjoy it if you felt the urge to post a bit as well. After all, you are family. Oh yeah, a belated welcome to the family
  16. I am having the same issue. I can ping the sites fine on my cable connection but can not get them to load.

I would try webmonkeys guide at http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/01/18/....html?tw=design or you can just Google changing favorites icon, seems to be a good list there
  18. Lunar is doing it the way I would. If I ever decide to host my other site, reservoirblogs.com I would get a resellers package. Ease of management alone would be worth it to me. Dont let the plan title misleaad you, there are a number of people with multiple domains doing it this way.
  19. Bohatir, I had only used FrontPage when creating websites before moving to TCH. I know HTML like I know theoretical physics. I have since picked up a few HTML codes but dont use them often. I found a PHP based shopping cart and found I only needed to make a few modifications to fit my needs. When getting a premade package there are usualy great instructions on what minor changes you need to make. I was not great at PHP either but I found it easy to look at what is there and make the changes to suit my needs versus trying to learn it from scratch. I have come pretty far in only a few months with a couple of hours a week working at it. Trust me, if I can do it anybody can.
  20. Open a Help Desk ticket and provide a name so we can look it up. Your account may be set up and the email didn't get to you or there could be a problem. In any case, we need more information to know for sure. Please realize it is the evening so the billing folks may not be up at the moment so be patient after submitting the ticket. I am moving this to the pre-sales forum. Even though have an account already, this pertains to a new account so I think it would be happier there.
  21. Shouldnt have done anything by moving. People only know your domain name, your domain name only knows where it is supposed to point. You may have lost a few during propagation from the old DNS to the new but not enough to make a difference. Where do you get traffic? Word of mouth, search engines? Lower positioning in a search could cause a loss of visitors. I know if I move and keep my same phone number I still have the same number of creditors calling. Changing hosts shouldnt affect anything.
  22. I run a virtual desktop as well. I dont have them fully maximixed but they are at about 90 percent.
  23. tv, Thanks, we all love to hear people singing praises but also know that many more go about their hosting experience not saying anything and quite satisfied. Welcome home and dont be a stranger on the forums. Nosferatu or no, we are still happy to have you.
  24. Josh, Dont worry, you arent forgotten. I am sure Scott will get to this soon. Unlike the rest of the forums where we have a few mods on at any given time while the rest of us are doing offline events, this is a Scott only event and he has his hands in many pots. If he doesnt get here soon let me know. I will break out the P.S. Dont hurt me Scott, I was only kidding. Honest. ...runs to hide in the corner....
  25. If you are set in the email way then every ounce of encryption will be needed. It may be a good idea to get an SSL as well to make those giving their number feel safer about the whole issue.
