  1. Thanks, Lianna. Lexi-- Welcome to the TCH family. Hope you have a smooth move over.
  2. Click on the link below to go to the TCH Help Site section on setting up an email client. I would echo kw's comment on using the autoconfig option in the cPanel. A user wirg a similar problem last night managed to get Outlook to work by deleting the email account in Outlook and then using autoconfigure to set it back up. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id27.htm]How to Set up your Email Client[/url]
  3. No problem. I had the same question in January.
  4. Congratulations! My baby just turned 21. Man are you in for some changes! Happy Birthday, Emily!
  5. If you have an IM client and are still on, IM me using one of the links below. I have AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and ICQ. Pick one.
  6. Do you have an IM client installed such as AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, etc? If so IM me at one of the buttons below and we can check your settings.
  7. Yes, indeed. Subdomains can be a good way to jump directly into a particular section of your site. For example, you can enter our forums by either http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/ or http://forums.totalchoicehosting.com. One of the many selling points of TCH is the reasonable price of the service. $4 a month is a small price to pay for all the features. And domain names have never been cheaper. I just did a quick check and see that CorePHP.com is available. You could register the domain, purchase a hosting plan, and be up and running in a matter of days if not hours. I registered a site for my son, mikevz.com yesterday morning and last night I had a skeleton account up and running. And such an account would include full access to all the features we offer. (I don't work on commission so no flames please. ) By the way, love your logo!
  8. This thread has more information about this very topic.
  9. Yes, that is possible provided you want both domain1.com and domain2.com to point at your main page. It is not permissible to point a separate domain to a subdomain on your primary site.
  10. Check out this thread on the same message : Odd Message Bottom line is there doesn't appear to be anything to worry about.
  11. Before I switched hosting last time I changed the email at my old host to redirect all mail to my email account through my ISP. Before propagation has completed mail could go to both your old and new host accounts.
  12. Some ISP's don't refresh their cache very frequently so some users may still be seeing the old site because that is the ip their ISP has in the cache. When I moved my account over here everyone else could see my site but me for several hours. It does settle down eventually. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. I registed a domain yesterday morning and by 6:00 p.m. it had propagated completely. But then, a new site doesn't have any old ip's cached so they tend to resolve quicker.
  13. Even if we could rewrite the code to change the input type (which I would suspect is a violation of the EULA) I don't think there is a confirm password box so we would have even more cases of where the password is incorrect which results in delay in responding. By showing the password you can be sure you've entered it correctly. As Bill mentioned, after the ticket is addressed it is easy to change the password via cPanel and is probably a good idea to do so regularly anyway. While we're discussing safe computing practices, another nice feature of cPanel is the Backup command. If your finger slips in File Manager and you delete your public_html directory, it's much easier to restore a back up than rebuild.
  14. If you go to the Change Default Address link you can see that you can set up a default address for each sundomain via the drop down box. The Bold section in the information screen is just letting you know where the default is for mail sent to your subdomain. I have several subdomains set up and so the default addresses vary depending on which one it is. If you were to set up an email address of subdomain@yoursite.com and set it as the default for that subdomain, all mail sent to anyone@subdomain.yoursite.com would go to that account.
  15. Be sure that you have added the user to the database. Use the drop down boxes in the middle of the screen and hit Add User to Db button to perform the action.
  16. You should be good to go. Give me a shout if you need help getting the blog config figured out. MT is a bit picky at first but once you play with it a little I think you will like it.
  17. I've only got a minute so can't answer all your questions right now but can answer #3. In your cPanel there is an option to change your password in the Site Management section on the right.
  18. It's pretty easy to sign up for PayPal and they do have several options for payment including credit cards and checks.
  19. I'll crank up the GIMP and see what I can put together although I have to say that I like the nice clean look it already has.
  20. And another post of it to see if it hides well on the other color:
  21. Another user (couldn't find the post) mentioned that the TCH Rocks smilie should have a different color for the background. Problem is that there are two background colors used on posts. I did try making a transparent gif. Been meaning to post it to see if it looks better for those picky eyes.
  22. You should be fixed up now, Andrew. Drop me a note here if you still have trouble getting in.
  23. Thanks for the heads up, matman. I editted the post, musicfrisk. Hope you don't mind. Not censoring anything...just practicing a little safe computing.
  24. I believe the problem has been solved. Since there was no data in the guestbook the easiest solution was to delete the guestbook and reinstall.
  25. Go into your cPanel and to the Manage MySQL. Double check that secondt_robber is listed in the Users in secondt_blog database. If not you need to add that user to the database. The MT commands look fine as far as connecting to the database. I'll be in later tonight if you still have problems and can look at it further.
