This does look like a vulnerability test to me as well. Very classic with the alphabet in order and then some random characters to bypass the possibility of a text checker. What is looks like they are trying to do is figure out if they are going to be able to send to their SPAM lists in the BCC field, while using you as the From and Reply To addresses. I would talk to Raul or one of the other script wizards here to see what you can get from them about buttoning up the script. -GG

There are a couple of problems with just stopping the forwarding, though. If some admin at one of the mailservers is not in the mood to deal, then he could add the IP of your domain's server to a blocklist. Doing this can get your account suspended by TCH due to the zero tolerance SPAM policy. I traced out the address I was talking about yesterday and it turns out to go to a Korean IP address registered as a DHCP one with APNIC (Asia-Pacific NIC). So I can go no further unless I catch it online. However, that would be unlikely to be the same person. PM me with another of the messages so I can compare headers and such. Your best course of action is to go to www.apnic.net/info/faq/abuse/index.html and report the abuse properly. I know, it is a pain to have to do this yourself, but that is the only way to insure you are taking the steps to properly protect yourself and TCH. -GG

as for the column thing, here is a decent read. Not sure how well it will work out with your plaid image there (it is pretty tall), but this may help in the future. www.alistapart.com/articles/fauxcolumns/ EDIT: I have got it repeating when looking at it in a 1024 screen. The sizing of the main body, I think it the problem on smaller screens... you hav a min width of 755px. the image you used for the menu background does not figure out properly and will end before the end of the page when repeating to a percentage, or will push the page longer when repeating a fixed count. Take a look at the source here: glenn.uselessfurball.com/inde.html EDIT2: I have worked a little on the pic and text surrounding it and found that using the alignment texttop works better to force the image to stay in line with the text. I hate to tell you this, but it would VERY likely seem that you have a virus. go to h*ttp://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp (remove the *) on a boradband connection and perform a free online virus scan. If it finds nothing, then let us know in here and I will make a program available to you to help track down the virus or malware on your system. I have resolved all of those IP addresses and one of them comes back to a cox.net IP do you use Cox at all?

Very good writeup! I can attest to the last item regarding Open mail servers. In Windows Exchange Server 2000, it is a single little check box that closes the server, or leaves it open. I got rushed and left that little box checked and ended up on several DNSBL's before the workday was over. Took a long time to get off of them, and was definitely a learning experience (no matter the rush, double and triple check your work... and always setup in a test environment before deployment).

Try changing your SMTP server to that of your ISP (should be informaiton on their site for these settings) and see how it goes. Sometimes the ISPs will block a lot of stuff, including protocols such as SMTP to help stem the flow of SPAM. Good Luck -GG

Someone told me about something called Christmas that happened a couple months ago. Could that explain the increase in hours I had right around the end of December??

I tend to agree with HG. They may have found what they think _could_ be an exploit, and in the rush to be the first, they have run with it and published it as fact. However, it could be true. They could have focused on one simple area and worked like dogs on it. I know that the malformed code in images was, at one time, a possiblity, but I never saw it actually done right. The image file becomes too big for practical use.

I have the clean install of Spybot and will make it available for download to you for the cost of a PM. I also have a simpler program called Hijack This! and can do the same. All you have to do is assssk (that dracula-type voice goin' on there) -GG

It has been so long since I have read it anywhere... but the W3schools tutorials are a great resource. Please realize that I really did fall asleep at the keyboard last night... so my thought processes were way outta whack You would use page templates to form the pages exactly the same and the CSS is used that way as well. However, you would have to create scripts that would load the content from a remote test file with location markers into the target area (table). this would create a seemingly seamless load of the body text for the user. Would use script actions or page actions using php (for TCH servers) for the nav buttons (links) in the left panes to load the body text into the target table. The trick would be keeping the table sized properly for max text size so it does not resize itself and look jerky. This would not be too hard to do, though, with a web design program (even front page) just to check the table size and set the params at that for your max size encoutnered.

Something Bill forgot (bad Bill... BAD Bill LOL)... before editing the registry, you should ALWAYS make a backup. Then, after you make the edit, you need to restart for the changes to take effect. Once you have deleted the reg key and restarted, you can then search for and remove the file referenced (in this case sfnuploader.exe) This file is not malicious in and of itself, but is a tracking agent. EDIT: Ace, what makes you suspicious of something going on? Or did you just happen upon this process during routine boredom?

Except that it will not automatically word wrap for you. Can't think of anything for the tables vertical alignment other than anchors. Getting the pages to open like you want will require some more advanced scripting, frames or simply CSS and template pages

With all the scares recently of security and unauthorized access, I think this is a great idea. Additionally, knowing that "nothing is wrong" is a great way to set folks at ease about how their money is working for them. I would pay for it.
