Hi, Welcome to the forums When you create an FTP account (which you do in cpanel) it asks you for the directory that user has access to (by default, the same name as the first part of the username). You can then block access to that directory via a browser if you wish, and you then have an area where people can upload, but can not access from elsewhere, and can not access other files on your site outside of that directory.

Mediawiki modified the URL to make it "tidy" in two places. A key one is through your .htaccess. I'd guess that somewhere you have some of the redirects in there with a domain name included. The other one is within a php redirect file. Did you change anything (upgrade) when it stopped working

Welcome to the forums Mick As Kris says, we do some checks on the server to check for brute force attacks (people trying to get into accounts by guessing passwords). If you get your password wrong to many times, it can think you are trying to hack in. Hence you need to open a ticket, and we can unblock it.

welcome to the forums Tuizner Are you booting in safe mode when scanning ? The link you gave isn't working, so I'm not sure which page you are referring to. I assume it's sending email from your account, in which case, I'd check the headers for a few clues.

How many emails are you trying to send in one go? There are restrictions on the server (to stop spammers), if you open a ticket at the help desk, we can go into details.

It is because you are using absolute links without the domain name. ie. Your link to 'McCone Files' is >href="/books.php?bookID=2" Hence, if you are using the server name - it tries to go to https://server382.tchmachines.com/books.php?bookID=2. If you just used the link without the initial slash, ie; >href="books.php?bookID=2" then it will append this to the current path, and should correctly go to; https://server382.tchmachines.com/~crippen/books.php?bookID=2.

Hi David, Welcome to the forums Since your first account is not on a server which has recently received any upgrades, I don't see how it's got anything to do with that. If you open a ticket at the help desk (link at top of the page) we'll have a look for you though.

Yes, you can do it all from your computer, but you would need her cpanel login information to enter cpanel and set up the account (in the same way you set up your email account). I would suggest leaveing the MSN address for her default to be contacted by us. If her site has a problem, and we need to contact her, it's best not to use the domain for email. Just publish as usual.

server 42 was upgraded to a new server, and hence it changed it's number to 342. Are you getting any error messages? Open a ticket, with as much detail as possible, and we'll see if there is anything server side stopping it.

Looking at you log files, you had 2 hits from there, and that was at the end of last month (hence you can't find them in this month). I don't think that it's significant hotlinking anyway. If you were bothered - then just set deny access from that IP / domain. Then you can carry on linking elsewhere.

In answer to your other question. It would overwrite the old file, and then everyone would see the new pages.

Welcome to the forum dallara cpanel is the "control panel" for your site, so you use it for setting up email accounts, looking at web stats, setting up FTP accounts etc. For uploading your site, I'd use FTP and think Filezilla would be fine for uploading your site

Shell (SSH) access was stopped a couple of years ago, so there is no longer a procedure for gaining shell access.
