  1. I have 1 domain that I lost my account info - I will figure that out and then consider getting this thing done. I submitted a ticket for this with the domain account. Carl... you appear to be my personal TCH representative - the earlier ticket, the online chat and now this post, is it just coincidence or does TCH have the ability assign folks to one rep so to speak. Interesting. Thanks.
  2. I have 4 TCH hosting accounts - want to migrate them to a reseller package, all domains were purchased through TCH. I believe i need to upgrade one account (the primary domain of my choosing) and the rest can be moved by TCH no charge... question, do I have to mess with the nameservers or can this happen automatically. seems like the nameserver thing can't happen until after I set up my folder heirarchy, in which case how can TCH just automaticaly make the change then? I want to do this, but i don't want to take a week to figure out how to get the other 3 domains working... OR...is all this managed in the WHM and all I have to contend with is the time it takes for the nameservers to propogate? I have about 20 domains to migrate - this can happen later and how come word wrap doesn't work in the text field I am typing in right now? lastly - if I choose a primary domain and later change my mind, can I switch it out with another domain without too much hassle - don't need to know exactly how, just need to know if it isn't going to be a hassle.
  3. option....? perhaps a bit off topic I don't have a need to have 2 sets of identical email - I just need to keep my two accounts (home/work) separated, and I check each from each location. This wont work if you need to keep 1 account on two locations identical. I set up 2 special emails, 1 for work and 1 for home Save@work.com Save@home.com If I down load home email at work that I want back at home, I forward to my home save email. Vice a versa for work email at home. I only have the save email accounts set up for download on their own PC's so I don't keep pulling the same mail at the remote locations. I have a home laptop, work laptop, work PC and Home PC and I seem to keep track of my 4 way email congestion alright this way. I have never had a reason though to forward my work email downloaded at home to my work Laptop. If I did, I would create another set of emails I guess SaveLapTop@work.com SaveLapTop@home.com With four emails all starting with save@ I would rename them something like SHPC@Home.com SHLT@Home.com and SWPC@Work.com SWLT@Work.com So outlook express (others too?) could autofill the email address fast/easy. Like I mentioned - this works for keeping 2 email accounts separate, not 1 account accurate at 2 locations. DA
  4. That *print screen* above is a real conversation stopper looks like. Anybody else with FireFox show these Java console errors when loading cpanel? David A
  5. attached is a *jpg of my java console It doesn't support print out so I had to print screen lots off cpanel CSS errors - see attached
  6. Is it possible the cpanel is having difficulty keeping track of my entry attempts because I attempt to enter with so many different browsers? Meaning that it keeps a cookie, or a setting or something I can't see (not my cookie, or maybe it is my cookie?) and everytime it sees me coming I have a different face? User 1 (me) logs in, cpanel keeps a cookie, works fine User 2 (you) logs in, cpanel keeps a cookie, works fine User 1 logs in different browser, messes up cpanel cookie, doesn't fit right User 2 logs in, same browser, works fine, User 1 logs in with first browser, but cookie messed up from 2nd browser Maybe try getting into your cpanels with different browsers, then from different PC's and ISP's if that is possible. I wonder if that is the variable the TCH tech can't, or hasn't attempted to replicate yet? Maybe something in the cpanel script (just for me) can be changed from a 1 to a 0 to allow multiple browser cookie's or something. I don't need multiple browsers per se, I prefer FF over IE and I am starting to like Opera. If I have to, I will stick with IE6, well right now I have to don't I. sure would be nice to figure this out. David A.
  7. Just tried (again) Opera - popped right up, felt gooooood. (fact is, I am starting to like Opera more and more) IE6 took about 5 seconds - popped up just right FF - took about 15 seconds to show, but with no graphic's - all placeholders, and the status load bar stuck at about 40%. I have had this same sympton with IE6 - about a week ago. TCH Jim I haven't changed anything with my cpanel settings, I have never set any cpanel settings at all. But I will go looking at what there is to monkey with and see. Yes, at least two TCH people have gotten in, but I don't know what browser they were using. TCH Don - I will look for javascript settings I don't mind anyone's nose TimHodge - Your are right, FF should just work I will go looking in FF deep for something. I don't know what it could be though. I have even looked at my Host files, and nothing shows. And its not an FF issue per se - there are times when no browser can get in all. Another thing - I work 150' from home so I jump back a forth before during and after lunch. When access is good, its good, when its bad its bad Home ISP is Comcast Work ISP is Eschelon Its crazy. David.
  8. I clear my cache, I log out, I shut down, I reboot, And I pray to the cpanel gods IE6 gets in most of the time - about 75% I would say. twice just now IE6 would not get in. FF gets in about 10% - goes in streaks CPANEL has no doctype !!! there are 73 validation errors on this page !!! IE6 sucks CPANEL with no DOCTYPE sucks FF should work. I have upgraded FF just yesterday too - my earlier FF and the new FF 1.5 both have the same problems, on three different machines going through 2 different ISP providers. Its not an FF setting - it because FF is looking for a legit valid page I bet, or there is some cpanel setting on your sever that is denying me acces because I am attempting to access the sites from two different ISP's... MAYBE? possible clue??? would have to suggest that FF should work, If IE6 comes through with version 7 and does all it is supposed to do - like get better? like get closer to FF - you are going to have a whole crap load of people complaining. No DOCTYPE .... heh! No FF.... double heh! Opera gets in? And still - IE6 hangs once in awhile too..... And......AND.... I have never had a problem with IE6 or FF before, for the last 2 years... so something has changed - like they took the doctype out recently/maybe? chalk this one up to .... oh well. I am working on getting my sites to validate, *or* be ready to validate to XHTML. The browsers are not quite ready for it yet, but its coming. can't imagine that I am the only *web* guy out here that has this problem, either. pretty much finished with this topic..... I'll keep playing around, and I won't be surprised if a doctype shows up and FF just starts working all of sudden - and like magic... it all gets better. Thanks for trying. I'll check back in to see if anyone does come up with something, David A.
  9. The cpanel is all over the place I have cleaned my cache and temp I just went back to Hoofr.com and could get in but all the images are placeholders. Its been this way going back to beginning of all this over a week ago actually I just went back to pacificgarages.com and could not get in. Never reach a log in prompt, just hangs for ever, and never times out. Fact is, I am in Firefox right now - I going to jump out in IE6 and try them both again right now..... I got in both sites just fine, with images. I submitted help tickets for both these, maybe I am sticking my nose right when they are getting things fixed? i have to go for about an hour, I will check it all again when I get back. David A.
  10. This is how I enter cpanel, not how I tracert necessarily.
  11. I go to the website which is http.... and add a tag on the end */cpanel* to the .com I just went to Hoofr.com and got in fine I just went to pacificgarages and first time got in with no password !!!! second time it stalled never reaching the point where it prompted for an ID or password third time it let me in with out a password again. the third time I went to a couple places I don't normally go to, to make sure I wasn't cached, and it worked, but the status bar was always working hard. similar to when I got in last week and it worked but worked real slow. This third time it was working relatively fast but the status bar was never really finishing anything, some images were showing place holders, but the page was functioning it was working, but not quite right. My firewall is not showing any activity hymmmm.
  12. I am not tracert expert - but I can get to the site just fine, and I would assume a tracert from my own machine would get to hoofr.com just fine (it does) Once it gets there, is where the router stops everything. Does it need a password? thats why the router stops? In which case having my ip firewalled by tch is sounding pretty practical Now my gripe is going to be starting a help ticket and having them tell me to check my firewall settings and run a tracert - I guess I have a tracert at least thats a start. Still doesn't explain why *both* cpanels were running very slowly - this just smells of tch router server issues. I will monitor this discussion and start a help ticket - again. Thank you, David
  13. Tracert_to_pacificgarages.docThanks for all the welcome's I feel...... Attached are tracerts to pacificgarages.com/cpanel I have similar exact results for hoofr.com/cpanel looks like the cpanel router is not responding, not accepting my packets. Now before you go telling me to check *my* firewalls and routers - no..... I have identical issues with home and work pc's, both run zonealarm, home is ZA Pro and work is ZA free. I can't get into the cpanel with or without the firewall on. I can't get into the cpanel with IE6 or Firefox, both run on both computers. Nothing has changed on my end - no upgrades or installs. Last week the Cpanels started running real slow - both of them from both pc's. This smells exactly like what the tracert shows - your router is rejecting packets from me - why it lets you (TCH) in I don't know, but it doesm't do me any good that you can get in and I can't. And why would the server let me get to the public_html folder but not cpanel? How would my firewall or router stop this? I have googled around and found several examples of cpanel being inaccessible and I see all sorts of issues addressed on the server (TCH for example) side. Considering all the changes you are implementing I would not be surprised or upset if cpanel is being worked on. Fine - just tell me and I will wait. Just don't tell me I have to dilly dally around with bogus firewall router issues on my end, only to have the issue resolve mysteriously some day like it never happened. David A
  14. both cpanels are v e r y slow, since server upgrades? pacificgarages.com hoofr.com David A.
