Instead of beating your head against something, take it out on your computer: http://goodstuff.stoverdatasystems.com Click the Stress Tools link on the left or scroll down to Desktop Stress Relieving Tools. Have fun! (I particularly like droping the termites and then using the hammer on them! ) Lianna

Block Image Viewing and E-Mail Setup?!
Lianna replied to Bohatir's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Now way! I learn something new everyday! Thanks for that great tip, Devynn. Lianna -
With the Standard and Deluxe Reseller plans, you may request two dedicated IP's for use as name servers. This TCH service is available for $2.50 per month (covers the cost of the IP's). Lianna

Zend performance suite or php accelerator
Lianna replied to minamr's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Zend is installed and enabled. Lianna -
Ok, one more followup. What type of connection do you have? If dialup and you've disconnected and reconnected then do you have firewall or antivirus software that may be causing an interference? If cable or dsl, have you tried to turn off your modem and/or router to get a completely new connection with your ISP? If yes, and still the prob, then back to the Firewall/Antivirus or other software that may be interferring? Beyond those things, I'm at a loss what to tell you. Anybody else either have ideas or having the same problem? Lianna

Ok. The site is definitely up, so there are a couple of things I want you to try, ok? (And don't be offended if I talk under you. Remember, I have no idea of your level of experience.) 1. Use that link, which did work for me btw, to open the page. If you get the Page Not found, try to hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard as you refresh. This forces a complete download of the page (bypasses cache). If that doesn't work, then: 2. Sounds like you may need to delete temp files in your browser. This would force a complete refresh of the page. If using Internet Explorer, Click Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files. Then on that same dialog click Settings. Make sure that you are set to either 'Every time you start Internet Explorer' or 'Every visit to the page option.' Click OK, Click Ok. Close IE and reopen and try the page. 3. If that doesn't work then open an ms dos prompt on your computer and type: ping secureserver.net You should get a reply back. If you do NOT, then ..... as Bill said, sounds like an ISP issue. If you do get a good ping but still get the Page Not Found, post back here. Lianna

Walk me through this. At what point are you getting a Page not Found? Lianna

Block Image Viewing and E-Mail Setup?!
Lianna replied to Bohatir's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Well, three things. Every time I come to this post I get prompted to enter a username and password to access ukraineonline.net. Sorry, but that ain't too good. So, I'm going to edit your post to eliminate the linked image...which you've placed behind the protection! Second, YAY for the email! Third, share! So what was the problem and how did you ??? That's how everyone learns by coming here. Thanks. Lianna -
Problems with e-mail attachments
Lianna replied to kingcrimson's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Whew! Glad that's over! Another advantage to trying out a buddy's computer to see if it works from there. So you're a happy camper now? Lianna -
...and that ticket should detail the reason for the request. ssh is not granted to everyone. Lianna

Sorry for the delay. Shared SSL is free, but, no pgp. Lianna

Ok, with much thanks to Rick, I have the theme loaded compeltely now. Please try it. Lianna PS. I will go close the helpdesk ticket.

Sorry, Here's the follow up to your other questions, too: 1. HeadGuru says curl is ok so, it's ok. Not already installed but it's ok to. 2. It is $85 for us to install your cert. That cost does not include the actual SSL cert. You provide the cert. Pay us $85 to install it. Lianna

Yes, it's a database change, but I might have to finesse it a bit. There's no clear setting for default theme for the board. It is actually saved by user. Lianna

Drop a help desk ticket on this and I will get it fixed up. Please make sure to include your username and password to cpanel in the helpdesk ticket. I will also need your admin username and password to your phpbb. Ignor the PM I sent you. It's a bit more complicated than I originally anticipated. Lianna
-
ok, hang on just a sec and let me find the db setting for default. I'll be back. Lianna

Try this link syntax: http://******/forum/admin/index.php and change ****** to Your domain and change forum to your forum directory name (if necessary) Lianna

PHP.net should give you the phpinfo help you are looking for. That link I found from the Google search engine by typing in "phpinfo" and was the top hit. Curl, to my knowledge is NOT installed. I would strongly suggest a discussion with Management if you intended to use it (just to make sure that TCH had no objection and could investigate the app). #2, I'll have to get back to you on, ok? It's a good detailed question and I'd like to give you an appropriate response. Thanks. Lianna

Problems with e-mail attachments
Lianna replied to kingcrimson's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Here, I'll drop this little bit in the mix. 1) If anyone emails me an .exe file, it gets dumped. Immediately, by me. No questions, no followup. Maybe rude, but my $ comes from my pc and I'm protective of it. 2) In using Microsoft Outlook (not Express), that comes packaged with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), I have found that Microsoft doesn't even trust Microsoft. Check this out. Outlook will block all attachments (with NO choice being given to the user) of all attachments with the extension .mdb. That's an Access Database file. What the heck is that? My vote (like it counts): let Bill block the exe's so I don't have to. I would much rather ask the sender to zip a file to send it than deal with the hassle and potential risk of receiving a nasty virus. My opinion, not necessarily that of TCH. Lianna -
Stop. We have two different conversations going here and poor sodbayar is getting lost in them. First, sodbayar, you are talking about phpBB. It is completely different application of bulletin board than Invision Board. The subsilver theme is a phpBB default theme. Invision board themes, to my knowledge, will not work with a phpbb board. Xoops, I dunno. If you can tell me where you found it, then I will happily try to help you further with this. Lianna

If you could copy and paste the content...except personal/credit information...into a Private Message for me, I can help you exactly. Without seeing it, I believe that it is asking you to confirm your order. You will not be charged twice. It is strictly for verification processes to make sure that you are who you say you are. But paste me a message first, so that I can be sure that's what you're looking at ok? Just below my post here, click the PM button to send me a Private Message. Lianna

Ravin, No, TCH does not run mail servers of their own accord. TCH offers full domain hosting which includes providing the necessary components within your domain's account for servicing mail. In other words, email is served from YOUR domain's account space and bandwidth. The only way to get email services from us is to get full domain hosting from us. That entails you siging up for an account and setting that domain's name servers to us. Which in turn would stop the accessing of your existing host's site. You are, of course fully entitled to set up your site on your account here. Do you see? The two, site hosting and mail hosting, are not independent of one another. At TCH, they must be done together. Lianna

Thanks for the kind words. Lianna

Ravin, I've just answered your question from your previous post. Lianna

Hi. I read your previous post about only hosting email and was trying to come up with a way that it could be done within the TOS and AUP. In order to get mail services, the domain name must be hosted with us. Sorry. Lianna
