  1. Yep, this time just slide the ol' ROCKIN' ....chair....up onto the stage!
  2. Ah, the price we pay for higher education. I guess it could be worse....no college at all? Lianna
  3. KW, SquirrelMail is web-based mail. I downloaded it last weekend to test the install methods......didn't get back to it yet. LOL Lianna
  4. cPanel has phpBB that can be installed at a single click. Here's mine and I changed the theme: http://stoverdatasystems.com/forum Lianna
  5. Ah, better than that! We have DishNetwork's PVR721! 120GB harddrive with dual tuners. We can record two different shows and watch a pre-record at the same time. And pause live tv, all the cool stuff of Tivo, but NO Monthly fee like Tivo charges. I will never use tape again. Dang, I love my toys! For those of you that haven't figured it out yet: "Hello. My name is Lianna and I'm a tech junkie."
  6. Folks, again I find myself at the end of my (single) wit. If anyone can help me resolve this with a proven and cost effective solution, please do: Scenario: 4 Field offices in rural Missouri. Locations on dialup ISP services. Single phone line. Absolutely MUST be able to accept incoming calls (service organization that schedules/provides transportation for the elderly and disabled) while on the internet. Running Win2K on pc's. Tried: a. 2nd line prohibitive cost-wise as our grand government has seen it fit to allow the phone companies to charge non-profits business phone rates (>35$/mo each additional line). b. SWBell (tel provider) offers Internet Caller ID, but will only provide software to work with Win95 and Win98. Yep, we run Win2K. And it requires a nifty set of add-on features (CW,CID, etc.) for a grand total of ~35$/month each line.....now a second line is cheaper than that! c. Broadband (DSL/Cable) not available in these rural areas. Sat cost prohibitive for multiple locations. What I need is: a. Software OR hardware that will be cost effective. Of course FREE would be incredible. b. Ability for the field offices to send/receive email and do some other inet stuff without interupting service to incoming transportation requests. c. A proven solution. I have seen several hardwares available that claim they will do exactly as I need. Best Case: Some sort of alert to the user that there is an incoming call and then let them easily choose to pick up that call thus disconnecting internet. Anybody have input here? Thanks! Lianna
  7. Charmed, The Agency, Alias and John Doe were on our list. We had a lot of catching up to do....too much RocketPower, Hey Arnold and SpongeBob lately! So, by relaxing evening, I mean that I got to watch witches blow up bad guys, CIA blow up bad guys, different CIA blow up bad guys and a guy that doesn't know who he is blow up bad guys! Man that was fun! Topped it off by watching the Iron Chef Valentine's Day Battle (chocolate and apples were the theme ingredients). ...ok, somebody please tell me that I need to get a life... Lianna
  8. My little one went to Grandma's for the weekend so hubby and I sat at the coffe table eating Chinese food and watching recorded episodes of some of our more 'grown-up' TV favs. It was a very relaxing evening. Hope everyone else had a nice day, too. Lianna
  9. In order for you to control the effects of ANY domain name, you MUST OWN the name. Example: I have mysite.com registered and pointed to my hosting plan on TCH. I also want mynewsite.com to point to my existing site on my TCH plan. To do this: 1) I must first OWN (have registered) mynewsite.com AND 2) Purchase forwarding for that domain (mynewsite.com) to point to mysite.com Lianna
  10. I don't recall a topic about a calendar in phpBB, but I had asked if anyone was using/viewing the Calendar on this forum which is Invision Board. Lianna
  11. DSL Page loads in just under 3 seconds. File download in 10 seconds. Looks like my results are just the norm for what everyone else is seeing. Great response time, IMO. Lianna

  13. I have in the last week sent letters to the rightful owners of over 100 pieces of software. The purpose of the letters is to request their permission for us to post their wares on our server and make available to all that may visit here. Hopefully, it won't be long now! Lianna
  14. I don't use Eudora, but your username should be name@**** unless it is the primary account. If you can post back here some of the specific error messages that you are receiving, we can look further. Lianna
  15. Borfast, Wow, I'm really sorry that your post and questions slipped right through without an answer! Yes, you can upgrade at any time. Yes, with a dedicated server, you can host as many domains as can reasonably be hosted in your bandwidth and space constraints. Fully Managed means that we treat it like any of the servers that we sell individual packages onto. In other words, the works: OS, Apache, PHP, MySQL, cPanel, WebHostManager, monitoring, etc. We would apply patches to the supplied components as needed or available. Again, I apologize for letting your questions go unanswered. I hope this helps. Lianna
  16. nah nah nah nah nah nah nah feelin' groovy.....
  17. Oh, boy. Somehow I just didn't see that one coming! I must be slowing down with age. Lianna
  18. THAT's great! I love that. Behind The Post it will be. That has a lot of great graphics potential too. Thanks Rayners. Lianna
  19. Hi everyone! As the topic title says, "Lots of exciting things on the way!" Two things that we currently have in the works involve ALL of our TCH family members. 1) If you haven't noticed, we have a terrific sense of community here. On this fourm, everyone asks questions to learn and most everyone contributes for the sake of simply sharing their knowledge. THAT is a real asset to TCH, having a client base so varied and educated that is willing to share and be a part of the success. I want more! We have well over 400 registered members on this forum, but that only touches the tip of the iceberg. And many of those 400+ do not return to the forums after they get their own questions answered. So we are in the process of developing a monthly based contest of sorts that will reward contributions to this forum and hopefully build the spirit of community even more. Although all the details have not been worked out, I wanted to give you a sneak peek into the premise. TCH will evaluate the contributions made here on the forums in terms of their accuracy, helpfullness, sense of customer support and then reward a "winner" with a Community Spot Light web page on our site. You would be able to shamelessly plug your site/business/self there and give us a glimpse of the person-behind-the-post. More Details Coming Soon! 2) And a contest for building our own business stronger is also in the works. Real prizes too! Again, all the details have not been worked out yet, but the premise is you refer all your buddies to TCH for their hosting needs. Over a set period of time, we'll count the number of referrals that you've made to us (that aren't cancelled during the first 30 days). Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be given. More Details Coming Soon! If anyone has any input at this stage, please don't be shy! We'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks, Lianna
  20. I'm sorry. I read this earlier today and then got distracted I guess. So ya wanna be a reseller, huh? Well, easy enough. Drop a help desk ticket if you havent' already, requesting the upgrade and they can tell you what steps you need to take if any. Lianna PS: My guess is that it took long enough for me to get back to you that you submitted the ticket already. Good thinking.
  21. PAiN from your board, for example, has a great av of a weather magnet from the Depths where it is said to be snowing. That's creative. It's hotlinked. Right click on his avatar in the Membership Profile. Select Properties from the shortcut menu and you'll see an off-site URL listed as its source. Lianna Edit**Factly, as I cruise through your membership list, every one that I looked at was hotlinked.
  22. Lebleu, I know that you're using phpBB, so I went to their online documentation and found the following potential explanation: Please note that they specifically state these dimensions/sizes are for uploaded avatars, not hotlinked avatars. So the av's that you are trying to limit, are they being hotlinked by chance? Lianna
  23. D. I'm not the security guru here by any stretch of the imagination. But I have stumbled across a really good document by one of the leaders in the business: Verisign's Securing Your Website For Business (in pdf format) Unless you're really into reading the nitty-gritty, skip ahead in the 32 page document to the Appendix: How Digital Certificates Work on pages 30 and 31. A very good explanation of how the encryption processes that Verisign uses protect you. Now, Head Guru or one of the others will probably jump in here and give some more detail about how the Shared SSL here actually works and from whom our Certificate has been issued. Lianna
  24. Ah, there ya go! That's what I was waiting for!!!!! Man you are really good at that. Lianna
