Hey, I'm right there with ya in Nutsville, Buddy! Well, dang. This is truly perplexing, eh? So let's think out loud. We KNOW that: test.php 'works' in public_html test.php does not work (404) in correct directory bogus.php 'works' in correct directory bogus.php has same permissions as test.php The difference between bogus.php and test.php then is in name and content? Paul, did you get this scripting from somewhere, like greenpepper.ca or freshmeat.net? Lianna
-
Ok, so I put your code into a page called test.php in my main dir and it has permissions of 644. I get Fatal error (code failure) instead of a 404. See it here. That doesn't mean a whole lot yet though. You have yours in a subdir. Put your test.php in the public_html dir and ensure that the permissions are 644. If it gives you the same result as me, then we know that php is not to blame. Rather, it narrows us down to the subdir structure and permissions. Right? Lianna
-
Ok, there's an easy test for that, too. I am going to copy your code from test.html and place it on my site. If it gets a 404, then chances are it's the code. If it goes, but with the expected errors, then we can compare machines? Sound logical? brb Lianna

Which version of Trellix Web are you using? If it came pre-loaded on your pc or bundled with a scanner, etc. then no. Those *free* versions of Trellix Web are hard coded to only publish to specific free hosts. If you are using Trellix Web 2.7 Publish Anywhere version which you would have either purchased as an upgrade for TW or came with a Prentice Hall published book, then yes. You can configure those versions of Trellix Web to publish here at TCH. If you haven't heard, Trellix Corporation sold the Trellix Web product to Globalscape in June 2001. Since then, Globalscape has released a followup version which it renamed: CuteSITE Builder 3.0. This is the Publish Anywhere version of Trellix Web and allows you to continue using the .tlx site files that you have already created. For more information, you can visit KW's site (http://kwsupport.com/csb) or Globalscape (http://www.globalscape.com/cutesitebuilder). Lianna

Can you give us a url to take a look? Did you change the theme (style) of the board? The username and password are case sensitive. Make sure that you are typing caps where it should be and not where it shouldn't. Lianna

Alright! See you're making progress! Way to stick in there. Bad news is that this is where you lose me! Sorry, but this php code stuff is WAY over my pea brain. (Not one word, KW!) I really must defer from this point. Bueller? Lianna

Paul, Hmmm. Ok, next obvious thing would be that the folder within which all is kept is of wrong permissions. However, I'm gonna throw this out there, too: What is in the content of the adminmenu, php that may be redirecting to a nonexistent page. Ya'know what I mean? maybe it's not actually THAT page that is not found? I am going there because the same content exists in the test.php file, right? And you get the same error, right? Isolate it. Move the test.php to public_html/myphptest (or some phony dir) and see if test.php is accessible. If so, then I'd go with the permissions issues. If not, then I think the file contents of the .php file are somehow in the middle???? Lianna
-
I'm sure you've already looked, but make sure that your file name is in proper case. adminmenu.php is different from Adminmenu.PHP. The path seems fine up to the point of adding that file name in. But without specifics of what you're trying to use or accomplish, I'll guess that this page may be of interest perhaps? - http://www.villagebistro.info/phpAquaScape...e/phpsecureweb/ Lianna

Yep, Sam's is always one of my first online shopping spots. And, sometimes *Wal-Mart* (eeks) actually has the same product for the same price. I was looking at that Samsung, too. I have read a few good reviews on it as well as the Envision 7100 series that KW referenced and the Viewsonic line. I was telling KW that I guess I have put off my drive to the 'city' long enough. Can't go till Friday at the earliest, so keep the ideas coming! They are greatly appreciated. Lianna

Thanks guys. Apparently my wish list is too agressive. There don't appear to be ANY TFT's on the market that have mic/jack built-in. Speakers yes, mic no. If anybody can find differently, please let me know. I'd still love to have that. Ya'know if HP can put a mic into their el-cheapo monitors (mx50, etc), seems like a mic on a tft wouldn't be that big a request. Several TFT's with speakers built-in provide a headphone jack...but still no mic. I guess I just dont' get it. **ok, off soapbox, thanks for bearing with me** Lianna
-
Alright, so I'm tired of fiddling with the old monitor. But I don't just want any old replacement. I want a GOOD replacement. I want: 17" TFT (that's viewable) - even larger is ok, but the cost contrains. Preferably Silver/Chrome Crystal clear resolutions of 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024 Built-in Speakers and Microphone &/or headphone/mic jack All that for under $600. Anyone have a recommendation for me? Thanks. Lianna (Just background: I'm running a KDS radius 15" now and the 800x600 res is AWFUL! I also use my headset a lot or VoIP and the speaker/mic jack would be a real headache saver.)

I guess I better look into this Bellsouth announcement. Both work and home dsl lines are on SWBell. I imagine this is a SBC Global networks decision. I suppose I don't understand their logic. With as many people as there are now with domains of their own and email that is serviced throught those domains, I can't imagine that this decision could be making very many people happy. Lianna

Not just you. I get the same error, but yes, only when I've read all posts. ??? Lianna

I think that the point is that TCH is offering Web Site Hosting, not online file storage. So, if a viable website were to offer some downloadable files as a part of the intent and purpose of the website, then it would be fine. I have a few files on my site available for download and don't feel like I am in violation of the AUP. Again, HeadGuru please correct me if I misunderstand the AUP or its intent! Lianna
-
From the Acceptable Use Policy of TotalChoice Hosting: In this spirit, evaluate your use of the server. As a rule, the servers are not to be used as file servers. However storage of a few files, download accessibility of those files and bandwidth consumption/server systems usage is allowed to the point that you remain within this AUP. TotalChoice Hosting reserves the right to evaluate and/or change this AUP at any time. If you can provide more details about the use/purpose, expected space and bandwidth consumption of your needs, we can further clarify our position for your particular situation. Thanks. Lianna HeadGuru: Please feel free to correct or ammend my statement here!
-
Now that does NOT mean that you can post 3 different sites on your plan! That would be in violation of the TOS and AUP. Ok? It means that each of your domain names would land the visitor at www.mysite.com/index.htm. Same page! Ok? Lianna
-
I'm sorry, you lost me. You can create mysite.com here on our plan and then have multiple other domains simple direct to the mysite.com through your registrar or third party ddns host. For example: I have mysite.com hosted by TCH. I own domain name mysiteA.com and mysiteB.com. My registrar for those domains offers free "Domain Forwarding" and I foward mysiteA.com and mysiteB.com to mysite.com. So all three of my domains land at the same site hosted on TCH. Is that what you're looking for? Lianna
-
Because phpNuke is not software directly offered in our packages at TCH, I would have to recommend you to the phpNuke website: http://www.phpnuke.org/ Lianna

Welcome home! Lianna

We are asked about hosting multiple domains regularly. And you're right...maybe it is something that we should look into as an "Add-on" component to packages. But for right now, sorry. Policy allows for only one domain per account unless it's a reseller plan. Just for fun and games, let's say that you buy a Silver Package. How much would you be willing to pay to have an Add-on Domain on that plan? Lianna

God be with these souls. I was just telling Junior that I remember when Challenger was lost. I was in Planetary Geology class in college studying for my major in Earth Science (BSEd). That's a bitter irony. Lianna

Hey Ed, Have you been able to update the NS for the domain yet? I just did a WhoIs for your domain (tulsalutheran.org) and it still shows your old host NS's listed - Name Server:NS1.**** Name Server:NS2.**** Name Server:NS3.**** Name Server:NS4.**** Is the registrar still not able to get updates made to .org's in the registry? My latest find. I'd heard of this through TechTV (yeah, I'm a geek that sits around watching TechTV) but never looked into it. Downloaded yesterday and it is VERY cool: Free Spreadsheet and Wordprocessing! Fully compatible with Word and Excel Lianna

Block Image Viewing and E-Mail Setup?!

And one of these days I'll actually sit down and read the full documentation to cPanel! My previous host had no such thing and I'm still getting used to having all the goodies at my fingertips. Lianna
