n2access, I'm proud of you. Way to hang in there! Lianna

.pub? Are you using Frontpage or Publisher?

NnnnnnOOOOOO! The Devil you say! Aaaaahhhhhh! <running, screaming for her life> You're welcome in "cutesville" anytime! Go to my site and start moving through the webring to see what other CSB users have done. Lianna

I love it too! You're welcome. Lianna

Their page is messed up, not you. They provide a link for getting the download, but the link only goes to their whois example form, not a downloadable file. contains a link to: http://webmasterschoice.com/support2/addon.../docs/query.txt See? No download available. You have to have that download file in order to go any further. IE: No download? No can do, telnet, filemanager or otherwise. If the download were available, you can forget about all that telnet stuff and just follow the directions that rayners gave you here. So, check with the website offering this script and explain that the download is not available via the link provided. Lianna

Not just mine, though! KW, Turtle and several others are going to be calling this their "summer cottage" home-away-from-home....I hope. Lianna

LOL Actually, I've been bragging and spreading the word about CuteSITE Builder (formerly Trellix Web Publish Anywhere) for almost two years now. I use CuteFTP, CuteMAP, CuteSITE Builder and CuteHTML - the whole family. What? Me, brand loyal???? I worked for Procter and Gamble for 9 years and sill insist that the only tissue worth using is Puffs! Lianna
-
It's amazing! You don't have to know any html. You don't have to know how to FTP. You just design, click publish and you're online! All that for $69.95. Lianna

Wow, that's wierd. It worked for mine using the Cobalt theme. I'll keep digging, too. What theme are you using for your board? Lianna

Man, I go off and have a stroke of genius this weekend, see? Look! No, wait, you can't look. It's gone. So maybe this was just an attempt to temper my ego. All's not lost, in the end we still have each other and our collective brain. Lianna

Sure, all you have to do is notify TCH via email or helpdesk and they will upgrade you right away. Lianna

Good point, oh mighty one. I took the question as meaning the other direction. Like others linking to images stored on this person's site. Lianna

You can chat with the ***** Guru from the Support page of the website and ask the specifics there before you buy your package. Remember, there is a 30 day Money-back policy, so you won't lose your cash if you find that it isn't possible, even after purchasing. You will definitely want to tell them WHAT the application is that you are buying from WHAT vendor. There are some apps not allowed on the servers because of the degrading effects they have. So, you're best to talk honestly and specifically about your needs with them. Lianna

SSH is considered on a case by case basis. You would just need to drop a help desk ticket to request it with specifics about why you need to have it. The following modules in your list do not appear to be available: XML-RSS * String-Approx * One other that you list, Libnet, is not in the list either. LibWeb modules are and Net modules are, but not "Libnet". You can request that it be installed through the helpdesk. I used the list generated by cpanel (server4) to cross-reference your list. Other servers may have other modules installed. Hope that helps. Lianna

Oh, hey Michael, just out of curiosity, what web-based mail program are you using now/have you used with your other hosts that you like? Maybe that would give me a good place to investigate as well? Lianna
-
Ok, hang on Michael. I was simply showing that ANY web-based email client that has POP3 capability is usable with an SNH account. I haven't explored all of the options available to you yet, but I'm still looking into it. Lianna
-
Sure not what you are looking for, but did you know that now a Yahoo Mail account can also check POP3 boxes? Something to think about. Lianna

Per #3 - Multiple year domain renewal - So, you transfer first (1 year renewal automatically with that) THEN you can renew for multiple years at any time. Oh, and I see what you were talking about with the 404 error / new windows on the website. I'm following up on that now. Thanks again for the heads-up! Lianna
-
Ah, see? Thanx Turtle! Lianna

1. Money back. That's it. Not happy? Within 30 days of sign up? You can have your money back and search for a new host. It's that simple here. 2. Transferring your domain to SNH is NOT necessary. You will need to change the name servers to point to us though. Advantage to transferring is the cost...but I don't know what you are currently paying annually to help you calculate the savings. You can always choose to transfer later if you like. ...But the DNS change MUST be made to use your package here. 3. Sorry, I don't know the answer to this, but will look. (My guess? yes) 4. There are many current customers using Frontpage 2002 without issues. 5. Yes, mailbox allocations are a part of your total space. A brand new account with no features configured and Frontpage Extensions installed uses .16MB. This should be added to your requirements. 6. Don't know what's up with that. I'll take a look and let the webmaster know. Thanks for the heads up! 7. There are two different statistics packages offered in cPanel: Webalizerand AWStats. You will also have access to raw logs to do with what you choose. Hope that about covers it! Good luck searching and I hope you consider us further. Lianna

Sorry, I can't believe that I missed this post! While I can't answer all of your questions, I'll take a shot at some: 1) How would subdomains be setup? Thru cPanel you can create subdomains of your own. 2) Would each subdomain have separate stats? I believe that the subdomain stats are actually wrapped in the main domain. 3) Can webalyzer reports be extended? Not only do you have webalizer stats available here, but also AWStats. Between the two, you should be able to get everything that you're looking for. 4) I would be running a wwwboard, maillist (Mojo), minor CGIs, and a classifieds script... You may want to run the specifics by the tech staff just to make sure that each are allowed to run, but generally, there shouldn't be any problem as long as they are operated within the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. phpBB, Mailman (mailing lists) and several other conveniences are included in your account. Check out the demo of cPanel for more info. 5) I have 150,000 monthly page views, 40,000 monthly visits. Is this OK for this host? Just make sure that you get a package that accomodates your required bandwidth and yeppers, all should be good. 6) Is there telephone support? Yes, during limited daytime hours. It is listed on the support page of the website. But you are correct, this forum is a great place to get help. Also, there is live chat with a Guru and an online HelpDesk. Whew... did I miss anything? And again, I'm really sorry that I somehow missed your post. YELL next time you think you're getting ignored, ok? LOL Lianna
-
Andy, thanks for the positive review. MBS, I think that you will be happy with the timeliness of response from the SNH team and family. There are multiple ways of getting support here: These discussion forums, moderated by SNH employees. The online HelpDesk Online Chat with a Guru Phone (during limited hours) Lianna

Remote linking will work. The avatars in the contest thread are actually stored on my site's space, for example. Lianna Side note: Orange Chicken, what does HTH mean? Forgive my slow brain today.

Well, it is much easier to just delete the ones that you don't need thru an FTP client. But it sounds more like you really do just want to start over? Like brand new? Help desk can do that for you. By the way, since most everyone here reads all posts in all groups, there really is no need to start multiple topics for your problems. As a matter of fact, it can become quite confusing. Pick a place that best matches your problem and just follow through on that one topic, even if you ask multiple questions. Lianna
