  1. No, TCH will have to install the cert. Then hosting of that certificate is in addition to your web hosting package. That's where the $85 comes from.

    Cpanel

The delay that you are referring to is not from the server side nor is it a function of cpanel. Your updates are available immediately. There are some things that you can check to find the culprit of the delay. First of which is to make sure that your browser is set to refresh the page "on every visit". See, if the page is in cache, then you are probably viewing that page, not the 'real' one. If you are using IE, then click Tools, Internet Options and in Temporary Internet Files click on Settings. Choose to refresh on every visit and see if that helps you.
  3. You can forward to any email address, within or outside of your domain.
  4. Jim, please email tony@totalchoicehosting.com Provide for him your domain name, username and password. He will get you into helpdesk. okie?
  5. Hey, Beth? If you want to teach your kids to build, try CuteSITE Builder instead! While I'd have to go back and look through your lists of wants/needs, I think that 70$ is well worth it. I use it for most of the sites that I develop for others. I only use DW/FW for those special little touches and effects then incorporate them into CSB.
  6. What are the changes made between the versions? About the only way that it would be upgraded is if it came with a cPanel upgrade/update that was necessary for security and/or stability. I just visited a demo of the newer version and see no change in its capability from the user end. Admin changes and code security/stability issues may have been addressed, but of course I could not find new documentation with a Change Log to show that.
  7. Also on the help site there is a cross reference of the IP address that you were given in your welcome email and the server names. Find your IP address in the list and blamo, there's your answer. http://help.totalchoicehosting.com
  8. Yep, yep, CuteSITE Builder!
  9. Oh, yes! Your situation is already looking better if you have the domain name registered through some one other than FeaturePrice! I am sorry as I assumed that the domain name you were talking about was a domain name registered through them when you signed up for your account (as I had). Follow Beth's directions (which rock by the way) and find out exactly who the registrar is. There are many listings in the Help Site here at TCH for registrars and how to change your Name Servers. Good luck to you. Please let us know if there is anything you need help with. Lianna
  10. Hmmm. Not getting any takers on this one are we?
  11. Wow, this could get really long and drawn out. I know that I battled with those guys for almost a month on the transfer of one domain I had originally registerd through them...and my username and passwords DID work. Problem was that everytime I changed the contact info, they would change it back without any notice whatsoever. So I would never get the authorization requests from the destination registrar, they'd always go to that BDNS@ address they list with all of their domains. (Infuriating was the tip of that iceberg. Can't imagine what you're going through.) Here's my suggestion. Register a new domain name here and buy a plan here. Upload your stuff and notify as many people as you can of the change. If you have ANY access to your existing site, then upload a redirect page to send visitors to your new domain. Then go fight your battle. When it's resolved, you can transfer the domain. From everything that I've read recently about your current host, there are class actions in the works, there are screaming mad people and very little hope of any resolution.....MyHostSucks.com has an entire forum category strictly for the steam about them. I guess I got out just in time (last October) as things appear to have gotten very rough since then. I feel for ya. Lianna
  12. Hey, but there is an addin that I got from the Macromedia Dev site that creates thumbnails automatically (using a Fireworks 'macro') kind of like a wizard. It takes the pix that you identify and creates a thumbs page. Then it also creates another page for each pic with the enlarged photo, caption and nav system. Here's a sample of my very first attempt at using the addin: http://pix.stoverdatasystems.net then click to view any of the 'albums'.
  13. that's ok. By 'stage away' and by your original statement that the pix could be staged, I was thinking in terms of 'the desk' and 'the workspace' being staged. So, my vision from your question was the use of additional props, etc to sway the vote of Head Guru. Like blatant occurences of "TCH Rocks" on notepads and bulletin boards and the like. Just a different interpretation of the same scenario. I am sorry that I misunderstood your original comment and also that I wasn't more clear in my explanation.....
  14. Nope, but it IS on my list of stuff I gotta get done...... Sorry for the delay, been swamped. Something about tax time in the US that brings everyone wanting to upgrade/update/fix and otherwise boost their PC's. ....at least here... So I have my KVM on overload and been a 'reformatting fool' the past couple of weeks. Matter of fact, I just ordered over $500 worth of memory yesterday for FED EX overnight delivery! Anyway, be assured this is on my list and I'll get it asap.
  15. NO!!!! Mr. Bill..... I didn't think that I would have to completely spell this out but here goes: The INTENT of the requirement for having TCH web page displayed on your monitor was to provide some way to PREVENT FAKES!!!! We want to see the REAL work areas of our family and friends..... Thanks. Lianna
  16. ...and don't forget that the home page of your site must be named index.html or index.htm
  17. First, please calm down. I sure don't want this little bitty thing to be the cause of a catastrophic day. It's like this. I don't know all the technical in's-n-out's of it, but the ISP does not have the update yet. That's all. They have the old ones because they've been updated since they were created? They don't have the new ones because they haven't? At any rate, what's the big deal? You CAN access the site! domain.com/sub. You admitted that it worked like that right? Give it some time and the sub.domain.com will show too. ....yoga....good for the mind and body. Lianna
  18. So then, if you can please explain a bit more about what you consider *user auth* then we could probably help you out a bit more. A place to start for helping us help you might be: did you look at aMember and if so what don't you like about it or is it just completely off base for your intent? See? I'm not sure we know what you are really after here. Give us a list of *stuff it should do*. Lianna
  19. Gotta be an ISP issue then, sorry.
  20. When you go to the subdomain, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard while clicking Refresh. That should force the page to refresh completely, and bypass any cached page that you may have on your pc(s).
  21. S'alright. Just trying to keep my kids outta trouble!
  22. Beth, Based on your level of expertise, I would certainly recommend Macromedia Studio MX (Dreamweaver and Firewords MX at the least)! But it's pricey. I got the DW/FW 4 Suite at $100 off last year. They were running a special for current FrontPage users....supply them your serial number and they give you a discount... I do not know if they still have any kind of promotion like this, but it's worth checking into for that kind of break. Lianna
  23. It's there. http://spawn.evdnet.com This is what I see:
  24. Please don't cross-post (post the same question in more than one forum). I've answered your question in another post here.
  25. Free or fee based, you cannot give away your space to a site that is not directly related to your main site. Subdomains of your own account should indeed by sub-sites of your MAIN site. That's the point. I suggest you review the AUP and TOS again. Lianna
