  1. Ok, we're done shifting categories for a while. I'll be working now on the forum topic level. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion this has caused. It's a necessary evil.
  2. My lands! And I though Bell was bad!
  3. I'm back and getting ready to start cleaning again. Please bear with me.
  4. Ok. Taking a break for a while. Need to get some lunch and do a load of laundry. I hate laundry. I'll post back here when I start cleaning again. So far, you should notice that no forums are gone, only reorganized in new categories. I hope that my logic doesnt' completely baffle you all.
  5. Everybody going wacko yet? Please be patient with me. I'm going as quickly as possible without completely screwing up everything, ok?
  6. Ok, the daffodils are blooming and the kites are in the sky. To a Mom that only means one thing: Spring Cleaning! The forums are going to be changing quite a bit in the next day or two. We have to get them back in control and in more logical order. So, here I go. Please be aware that - 1. Some posts will be removed in an effort to simply clean up the presentation. 2. Some posts will be moved to more appropriately described forum categories. 3. New forum categories and permissions will be created in an attempt to focus the resources and questions to the appropriate arena. 4. Forum Moderators will be assigned to specific categories as the primary resource for answering those questions and handling the mass of the posts. 5. Oh, did I mention? I get to assign forum moderators by category. TCH is extremely pleased by this announcement. We've been watching this forum grow and more and more family members pitching in to share their expertise and knowledge. We love this and we're going to be taking advantage of it. Now, all of this will take time. Please be patient with me as I start this process today. Finding posts that you've made or are tracking may be difficult for the next day or two. I hope that you see the value in these changes and can support us in this effort.
  7. No biggie! I will admit that's the first time I've been called that though.
  8. I see them too. This is just a propagation issue. Give it some time. No need to drop a helpdesk ticket. Some ISP's do not even update their DNS over the weekends. If you still are getting a resolve tomorrow morning, then you should post back. Also, make sure that your browser is set to refresh the view on every visit and that you've deleted all offline content (cached pages).
  9. Lianna, not Illana , and yes. Click Addon Scripts.
  10. The file is located at the server level and would impact everyone on the server. It's likely that the change will not be made.
  11. You WILL need to buy a domain name. While your account can be accessed with the username only, it is only for providing you with the ability to upload your site before your domain name propagates. Get you domain name, set up it's name servers to those that are listed in your welcome email, then let's talk some more about what and how to do things, ok? If you need help with the domain/name server part, just yell back here.
  12. Shammer, If you haven't already, download all the templates from Globalscape. Also, you can create your own by using the Page Layout Editor.
  13. Yes, phpMyAdmin does come bundled with cPanel and No, there are no plans to update it at this time.
  14. Well, not directly from your existing site, but ... If you still have access to your old site, then download the pages to your hard drive. Then just upload the pages from your hard drive to your TCH space in the public_html folder. That's the basics. You question was sort of vague, so I have to ask... What application did you use to create the pages on the old site? What application do you plan to use to create/maintain the pages on your new site? Do you have an FTP client (CuteFTP, WS_FTP, SmartFTP)? Last, I think someone just recently posted on the forums of a program that can grab pages from a site. In the event that you do not have access to download the old site files, but you can browse to them, this may be an alternative.
  15. Let me tell you what happens with a Frontpage form! Yesterday a client called and said, "Lianna, I'm getting delivery failure notices in my email for emails that no one here sent. The email header says it's coming from 'rj6die09nm3@mydomain' which is not an email account." Well, 14,281 spam emails went through our mail server with almost 2000 still in queue! Access was gained by the spammer by using the UNSECURE email form on the domain's site. Just be warned!!!!!!!
  16. Also, do a search of the forums here for the words logo and phpbb (if you are working with phpBB). There are some threads already that detail the replacement of the logo with one of your own.
  17. Welcome home, Little One. It's nice to have such diversity in this family! Lianna
  18. Yep, for some reason that one trips up every new reseller. Maybe that should be included in the welcome email for the reseller accounts? Hmmm. Something to think on.
  19. Well, I for one admire your willingness to find the answer instead of claim ignorance. Bravo! As to the screenshot question, I personally don't see a problem with using that screenshot on your site, unless (and there always is one) it is specifically forbidden in the game license or other legal statement made by the author of the game. If you want to know more about copyright infringement, just do a quick search of http://google.com and you'll be amazed. Also, if you'll post here the name of the game itself, I will personally try to track down a website with some legal stuff or an email address that you can contact to make the request for usage. You mean like putting up an avatar for yourself here on this message board? Or am I lost?
  20. tdb, You are a reseller, right? You have to add that domain in through your WHM. Right now, the domain does not have an account on the server, so the name server can't possibly be authoritative for a nonexistent domain. Let me know if you need some help with this ok?
  21. Hi George, Not enough information. What kind of error are you getting when you try to send? Are you getting an error when you try to receive? Are you able to access the internet through Internet Explorer on each of the trouble pc's? Have you tried to collect that trouble account's mail at another PC successfully? Some things to try first. Lianna
  22. Hey, welcome home! By any chance does your existing host use cPanel??? If so then we should be able to just draw your account over to our servers and then you're just left to test it all. If not, well, I hope you think the move is worth your troubles. I think you'll be very please here! Lianna
  23. Actually these are all questions for the copyright holders of the materials you wish to display/provide. For example, Jim Henson Productions makes clear in their legal statements on their website that NO use of any JHP copyright materials or images may be used without express written consent. So, my suggestion to you would be to contact the proper authority for the images, files, etc that you would like to use and explain your case. I was able to properly, in writing via email, receive permission to use and display all of the images/content on my site that was not originally mine. Many companies are very willing to allow the use of their images. Many just like to know who is using it and in what context. Another example. a representative from the Legal Department at Palm, Inc. and I exchanged many emails about my desire to use their circular 'Palm' logo and for making available for download my business card. He was very nice indeed and even went so far as to create a palm.htm page with suggestions of how to incorporate their materials better into my site! I was denied the use of a couple of images and I honored their decision. Bottom line. Your site should contain legally obtained materials and content if hosted here at TCH. Best of luck to you and hope to see you around here again.
  24. I don't know. I have never done it. As a matter of fact, the first time I ever even looked at Advanced Guestbook was when trying to provide you with an example, so I installed it through cPanel.
