  1. If you haven't already, please submit a helpdesk ticket about this. Thanks.
  2. Hey, if you still can't unzip on your server, please drop in a helpdesk ticket. Thanks. (Chucky, are you getting dizzy yet from walking in circles? )
  3. Please don't cross post. Looks like you're on the right track with this thread.
  4. Wolf, Are you serious? If we provided NONE or ALL then the ramifications are just unacceptable to us. We can be moderate here and not completely kill our selves or our clientelle. Here's the deal. If we offer NONE as you suggest, then TCH loses value. If we attempted to offer everything that everyone could ever ask for, then you'd be paying at least double if not triple for your hosting, tech support would be a bloody nightmare and no one would be happy. Chosing from two options of guestbooks preinstalled or two options of bulletin boards preintsalled is a plus and plenty in my opinion. Then if a user particularly likes another script/app that is not in those choices, they have the option to install it of their own accord OR they can pay TCH to install it for them. That is Total Choice balanced with stability of service.
  5. Sounds like you're good to go then.
  6. You're welcome. Be careful that your operating systems on each machine will support what you are trying to do and the cable. Even 8 bucks is a waste if it doesn't work.
  7. Check out this offering from one of the TCH family: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/textpagea9.htm
  8. Go Chucky, go Chucky!
  9. Hi, Lexi. To order a plan with TCH, you should go to this page. Then click the 'Order' button beneath any plan (you'll be given the opportunity to select the plan you want on the next page). Complete the order process and hang out for a Welcome Email from us. Make sure that you do NOT use an email address with the same domain you are bringing over....that can cause problems and delay your order. Then, in the welcome email, it will tell you which Name Servers to use for your Domain name. You go to your registrar and either change or ask them to change your Name Servers to those listed in the letter. This is not a domain transfer (which requires changing your registrar) but rather just lets your registrar know where to send internet requests for your domain. Because you're only changing the name servers for your domain there is not a transfer fee involved...because you're not transferring. If you DO want to transfer your domain (change registrars) you can do that here too for as little as $10.95. That fee will automatically increase your domain expiry by one year as well. From that point forward, you pay the same amount each year for the domain. **I've been chatting with Lexi and have her all lined out and she's signing up as I write this. So, Welcome Home Lexi! *** I continued to write the info in this post for the benefit of others that may see it.
  10. Yeah, I figured that you would have already done the homework before posting the Q. Wouldn't expect anything less of you.
  11. Good answer, Larry! Here's my choice: Belkin File Transfer Cable of every shape and size.
  12. Ok, I'm going to wait on HG for the answer to this one. My guess is nope, can't do it. But I'm a 'better-safe-than-sorry' person that has limited knowledge of this particular topic. I'll keep my eye on this thread so that I can learn too.
  13. Thank you so much for your business and sharing the word! The more the merrier, right? To your billing question, could you please drop in a helpdesk ticket about this? That way the right people can address it.
  14. If YOU set up an IRC server on your TCH account, then your IRC server would be considered the "host IRC server". Ok, HG will correct me here if I am wrong. I am not familiar enough with the way IRC works to make a definitive judgement. However, from my perspective, you cannot setup a "host IRC server" on your account. You can use scripts, etc. supplied by other IRC hosts to make their services available on your site here. But the warning is, be very careful of the script and service you choose and know the ramifications of it. It really sounds to me as though you have some homework to do in terms of how the things work and what resources are required. If you can be specific here with an example, then maybe we can help direct you more appropriately. What is the intended effect on your site, what are you wanting to provide your visitors?
  15. I can't find it on the web anywhere for download. Because it is included with cPanel, you may have better luck getting it directly from them. Here's a link to their forums: http://forums.cpanel.net/ But, maybe HG can get you what you're looking for.
  16. Please read the Acceptable Use Policy! Here is a direct quote fro the policy: You are bound by this policy in its entirety and it's in your best interest to be familiar with its terms.
  17. Be patient. Even bots have big jobs.
  18. Otherwise, create a helpdesk ticket with all of this information. Thanks.
  19. Within the limits of your package (space/bandwidth), yes. Please keep the security of the servers in mind as you investigate your options. There are several gallery/photoalbum applications currently available on the web. There is not one provided with cPanel specifically. But if memory servs me, you could use phpNuke and it's gallery module (somebody jump in and correct me).
  20. Ok, folks. This has nothing to do with more than one person working on a site. It has to do with having more than one site on an account and the relationship of subdomains to the domain. Example: I have stoverdatasystems.com. I have subdirectories and subdomains that are of some apps that I have installed/investigated through the course of my business as demos for clients, etc. This is acceptable even if my business parter were the one that installed the apps. Example2: I have stoverdatasystems.com and create a subdomain for my Mom's flower shop. Completely unrelated and in clear violation of TOS/AUP even if I am the one building the site. Hope that helps.
  21. If Rick isn't around when you see this, check to see if I am. IM me using Y!, AIM or MSN using the links below. The reason we are asking that you IM us is that there are a jillion scenarios to this question. It would be much easier for us to talk to you about the specifics of your case (like: what's your domain name, where is it registered, who is your host, etc.).
  22. Congratulations Matman and Robin! Emily, welcome to our world!
  23. You can't do this! This is in violation of TOS and AUP. elvenjess.com is at risk of being shut down. I strongly suggest that you re-read the Terms of Service and quickly dismantle the subdomain corephp.
  24. Chucky, drop in a helpdesk ticket about this. It may just be a miss on Server12.
