  1. CheckDNS shows a good resolve to TCH. From a machine in your network that is NOT getting through, run a tracert to your domain and see where it falls. Then also run a tracert from one that does resolve to TCH. Compare the two to see where you're losing the DNS update.
  2. Now, I don't really know how Entropy Search works, but it occurs to me that since all of the phpBB content is actually stored in a database in tables, it wouldn't be included. I thought that Entropy searched the content of the pages of your site. If so, then the database content is not a page, true? Hmmm.. I guess I'll learn right along side you. Anybody else have an answer here?
  3. Can you tell us your domain name and also is it a new hosting account with us? Sorry, but we won't be able to help much without all the info.
  4. Chucky, Unzip the file on your local machine and then upload the contents. Or, if you have a Zip utility app that will create a gzip, then unzip the contents then rezip them into a gzip and upload.
  5. By giving your webmaster ftp access to root (done by creating a FTP User through CPanel with the directory of simply: / ), you will entitle him/her to full access of all of your space...however, he/she will NOT have access to cPanel. It very well may be beneficial to you to give them your cpanel login/pass and then just change the password when he's done. The reason I say is because you mentioned setting up a forum. This is really very easily done through cPanel and as stated above, the FTP User with access to root still cannot access cPanel. And there are lots of other goodies that your webmaster might be able to incorporate into your site. Good luck.
  6. Correction. As of today (May 1, 2003) Paypal payments are fully integrated into the order process. Just order the package you want and specify that you want to pay using Paypal. *YAY*
  7. Slyfox and HG RULE!
  8. No, the Horder interface templates, or themes, are installed at the server level and are the default for the cPanel installation. While other templates/themes are available from Horde, the implementation of those would impact ALL users on each server. Another point, if specific changes are made to the default cPanel installs, they'll be un-done upon upgrade. Sorry, no plans at this time to change the Horde theme.
  9. THOMAS! Well, it is certainly good to hear from you! And to see that you've migrated to TCH. Wow, now the gang's all here.
  10. TCH Stones
  11. You need to email sales@totalchoicehosting to make arrangements for paypal payments. As I understand it, they are only accepted if recurring.
  12. Welcome aboard! Hope all goes well for you.
  13. Dawn, Please submit a helpdesk ticket. I take it that you are hosting only one account here and the other two domains should just be pointed to the same site. This should be handled through the helpdesk.
  14. matman rocks!
  15. Maybe tarot would be more efficient?
  16. Or, Bill's theme song from the Bill Haley classic: ROCK!
  17. Good thing that you clarified Rick......I was getting spooked. After seeing you fully clothed riding a mule...............topless is not an option...................
  18. Leonard, As soon as you sign up, go to the helpdesk and enter a ticket with your request and reason for wanting shell access. Because this is a decision made by management, I can't say if you'll be granted access or not. It's not a matter of intentionally trying to evade the question or not give you a straight answer about your request. All requests are made through the helpdesk, evaluated and then management will make the call. So, it isn't our place here on the forums to guess whether your request would be granted. I hope you understand. And yes, 30 money back guarantee. You can't lose to try out TCH!
  19. New car would be cool, but it would have to have a satellite internet connection...
  20. If HG says it's 'cool', then it has to be geeky! I bet it's some new-fangled hardware that screams.
  21. WHAAA! Funny man! Thanks Karl. Certainly not my intention for the post.
  22. 1. Size limit on MySQL - No, there is no specific limit of any one db. The limiting factor is your combined usage of diskspace and your package allowance. 2. FTP accounts v. Subdomains - The URL is a matter of choice. But, you can create a Subdomain with the exact same name as an FTP User to accomplish what you're looking for. The resulting path is /public_html/member1 and the url is member1.****** 2b. Yeah, what Sandy said. By default, directory browsing is enabled if no index or default.html page is in the directory. You can disable the browsing feature through cPanel easily for any/all directories. Sandy got #3 for ya.
  23. Try it and see! If it doesn't all work great, then blow away the stuff on the TCH server and start anew. Seems little to lose at this point. Your existing site (old server) will still be intact, right?
  24. The name change came about in large part because TCH wanted to have a name indicative of its essence. Formerly ***** Hosting, the company is focused around providing choices for its clients, but rest assured that the idea of "Simple" is still in the veins!
