Oh, and the old non-permalink style links will still pull up content. (Maybe that is what you are asking.) If you have permalinks enabled and somebody clicks an old, non-permalink style link, they will still get the post page with the correct post. Hope that helps.

My guess is that your RSS feed should still function normally. (I'm not quite sure what you mean by "breaking" the RSS feed. I mean, the links will change, but the feed should be updated with the changes.) However, I've found that when the question is application specific, such as in this case, usually I can get more comprehensive and authoratative answers in the application's support forums (in this case at wordpress.org/support) Good luck!

I assumed that the link to phpMyAdmin was a new addition to the bottom of the page because I'd never seen it there and never had to go there to get to it before. (Plus there is another thing that looks different on that page, but it sounds like chances are that I just haven't seen it before... I've never noticed the "Access Hosts" section on the page.) Anyway, I was wrong. I'm probably just knee-jerk-reacting while I struggle through adjusting... I'll be fine. Sorry to disseminate falsehoods.

To be really honest, what is confusing about this is that if you are used to a different theme, you wouldn't expect to have to scroll to the bottom of the MySQL Databases page to get to PhpMyAdmin. My guess on where phpMyAdmin would be was in the MySQL Databases icon. However, what I saw when I got there was not another menu, but a screen that looked remarkably like the screen in the BlueLagoon theme that DIDN'T have a link to phpMyAdmin. So those who are used to a different theme struggle to find things that have moved to places where they wouldn't have been displayed before. Cut us a bit of slack here! We're adjusting!

Wait! No! I found it! On the cPanel menu, click on MySQL databases. On the next page, scroll to the very bottom of the page. Down at the bottom, look for a link to phpMyAdmin. That should give you what you need. No ticket needed. Edit: Dang. Double-too slow.

Roy, I also can't find the PHP My Admin link that used to be in cPanel. Probably you need to open a help desk ticket saying that your PHP My Admin link is missing in cPanel. The support people don't necessarily frequent the forums.

Welcome to the forums, Porky! Bohatir, You should check out the Image Gallery scripts provided by Fantastico. Gallery is included, as are Coppermine (what I use), and 4Images Gallery. Each of these are one-click installs, and one-click uninstalls, so they are very easy to try out to see if you like them. Just a thought.

Hmmm... Just going off my experience here. Last time I tried to park a domain, the help desk reported that they couldn't do anything until the domains were propogated and resolving to TCH servers. They told me to re-open my ticket after propogation to finish the process. I guess that is changed, in which case, you can just ignore my previous comment.

I agree that an advanced user will get used to the X theme in a short period of time, but I worry about some of our less-technical folk who won't be able to FIND anything using the X theme. I would recommend a theme that has more of a list-style of components with as many components on the top layer as are reasonable. If users can't figure out how to use cPanel then the number of support tickets will also rise because people can't figure out how to make cPanel do what it is supposed to do. The real fault here lies with cPanel, not TCH. cPanel has created a default theme that is clunky and not user friendly. cPanel needs to provide an interface that is more intuitive and easier for neophyte users to use. Ideally, it would include some type of on-screen documentation about each section, such that when you select it or hover over it (or something) you could see a representation of all the features covered in that section. I totally support TCH's policy of trying to make service requests easier by only having one cPanel theme. I recognize that with thousands upon thousands of hosting accounts, the help desk simply can't be supporting multiple themes. As a technical writer, I understand the importance of having a single user interface because it drastically simplifies documentaiton and support. Yay TCH. I hope in the end we can find a theme that makes cPanel easier to use, but will still provide the functinality that allows us to make the most of the awesome TCH hosting experience, including using new features as they become available.

I made the mistake of installing IE 7 yesterday. I thought that installing IE 7 beta wouldn't replace my IE 6 installation. (This is my work machine. Tech Support is going to kill me. If I dissappear from the forums, it was probably Mike in Tech Support that is responsible....) I was wrong. And I hate IE7. Hate may not be strong enough of a word. And I'm really bugged that I lost IE 6 because I have to do screen grabs for the software I'm documenting... Jeepers. Guess they'll be firefox screen shots!

To be honest? If I'm talking to MY mom, I'd say: "Mom! Take your hands OFF the keyboard, and back away from the registry." Ok, that's not quite honest, but you get the picture. I don't mean to be trite, but I don't even mess with my registry. There comes a time and a place that you just have to pay for expert assistance. This is a case, not unlike plumbing, where I could do it myself, but I leave it to the experts anyway.
