Speaking of post count... The HG has been busy posting to the forums, apparently. Do you realize that he makes over 6400 posts per day? That's more than 4 posts per minute. And his posts total more than 5000% of the total forum posts... Very interesting in deed.... http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i....php?showuser=1

Ok. Okay. I guess I'll just have to get the milestone post twice... LOL Thanks, Bruce.

So, as I look at my profile, this should be my 1016th post, however, somehow my post count got dropped, and is now only at 993. Where did 23 posts go? I mean, I had a bad weekend, but I didn't think that was related....

LOL. That makes me laugh!! Thanks!!

Forward E-mail To Multiple Addresses?
abinidi replied to AllenBob's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Welcome to the forums! My experience has been that when I add multiple TO addresses in the forward field, that each is added to the list separately. So later when you view your list of forwards, there are 2 (or 3 or more) separate entries for one forward alias. That allows you to remove one of the TO addresses easily. It also allows you to add more addresses as target TO addresses for an alias without having to remove the previous entry and retype all the addresses that you want the alias to forward to. But yes, both ways work. One's just a lot faster and easier to manage. -
Don't try to suggest this over at the SMF forums. Those guys jumped down my throat like you wouldn't believe. That experience (of trying to get help in the SMF forums and having some of the people act so rude) more than anything drove me away from SMF. I like our friendly Family Forums!!

Be careful that you're not using an insecure script on your site. It would be better to contact the script authors and report the bug and see if they are going to release an IE fix for it. Running old versions of scripts puts your entire account in danger and can lead to having your site shut down if your account get's compromised. Be careful!!

I have that same trouble with my work computer Yes! You laugh, but I'm almost always holding my phone in hand before it actually rings....

Welcome to the forums, Sam. The help desk might be able to answer this site transfer question better than we can, as they deal with server-specific questions. If I were you, I'd open a help desk ticket (link at the top of the forum) and see if they are able to import your content directly from your old server. You'll be asked for a username and password at the bottom of the help desk ticket form. Just enter "none" "none" (without quotes), and on the next screen you'll probably have to click on the "My answer isn't here, submit ticket anyway" button (but only if your answer really isn't on the page, of course )

[soapBox user=Paul" mood="cynical] I don't know if it is *possible* to use a challenge/response system on TCH, but I just want to say how much I hate them. When I send a person an e-mail, I don't want to have to go back and explain to some server software why the message should get through. I administer an alumni-type website with 700+ resigered users. When other site users send profile updates and somebody has a challenge-response software installed (ie. Earthlink... ) I'm the one who has to go in every time and try to convince Earthlink's challenge-response that messages from my domain should be allowed. Frankly, I don't bother anymore. If somebody doesn't want my messgaes, I just won't send them e-mail. You'll lose a lot of legitimate mail if you try to install a challenge-response program, in my opinion. [/soapBox] Instead, you might try forwarding all messages from your domain to a Gmail account. Gmail does a great job of filtering spam into the spam folder and for the most part, very few legitimate messages make it into the spam box. Only a couple of spams make it into the in box. It's one suggestion that might work for you.

Welcome to the forums, Aaron. While I don't have experience with email filtering like you are looking for, I hope you find a solution to your question. When you do, please be sure to come back and let us know what you found. I'm sure there are lots of people who would be interested by the information. Good luck!!

True. You are after all in the lead, post count wise. However, there are only 27 people between us. Maybe someday I'll catch you...

Hey ya'll, Just thought I'd take a minute and celebrate a milestone post with you. This is my 1000th post in the TCH forums. I first found TCH in September of 2003. I started hosting two of my domains here, and I've never looked back. Since then I've brought another 3 domains online, all through TCH servers. When I was investigating TCH, one of the things I liked best was the support provided in the forums. I registered for the forums, but didn't make my first post until December of 2004. In March of last year I "refound" the forums and began contributing (mostly in the Word Game thread, if that is considered "contributing"). Since then I've come to regard you all as part of my extended family. I'm so glad to be here, and glad that I can hopefully give back a little bit of what you all have given me. (Pass the tissue! ) Anyway, I just wanted to tell you all thanks and tell you how much I enjoy being a part of this community!

Now you go to "Web/FTP stats" (3rd row, 5th column). From there you can open Awstats, or go to Subdomain stats to get to the Awstats page for your subdomains. NowYouKnow. (get it?)

If your question is: "Can I use a blog-type CMS to do a food/restaurant review website?" The answer is YES. I recently stumbled on a the food blog genre. (Don't know what I'm talking about? Google: "food blog." Try Chocolate & Zucchini blog first, then follow the links from that blog to other food blogs. It is amazing.) The writer of Chocolate & Zucchini recently got a contract for writing a food-related book -- all because of her food blog. If it is something that is interesting to you, I'd suggest that you look at the food blog culture first to see what other sites in your general genre are doing. Is WordPress your best option? That depends. Blogs tend to work well for content that is archived by date. The content is generally linear and is time dependent. Other CMS products sometimes work better for content that is non-linear (enter and exit at any point). You can add content and that isn't dependent on when (or the order in which) it was added. One of our forum members (Crazy Uncle Dave) recently ported Website Baker (a CMS) to integrate seamlessly with the rest of his site. On the other hand, you can make WordPress do what you want with a little customization. I use WordPress on my portfolio website (link in signature). Notice how none of my "posts" or "pages" have a date shown. I didn't want my portfolio to have the "blog" date stamp on pages, so I went into the template and removed it. None of my pages have a date stamp on them, making the site look like it was done with CMS software than blog software. In the end, CMS and blog software are very similar. One of the main differences is that blogs are usually time linear and CMS sites are usually non-linear. You decide what you want for your site. Then pick the tool that will let you do that easiest. WordPress is one option. Website Baker may be another. Maybe something else will be best for what you're trying to do. Short answer: Yes. WordPress will work.

Knate5000, If makaveli's suggestion didn't solve your problem, then I recommend that you submit a help desk ticket. The link to the help desk is at the top of the page. Welcome to the forums!! Let us know if we can help any other way!!

Actually, I'd say you didn't hit it at the same time as much as I'd say Andy beat you again. LOL Just kidding. You know we love you Tim!! *Paul ducks and runs for cover

On my wordpress account with permalinks enabled, I can get the feed with the ?feed=rss2 url. So it looks like it doesn't break the feed. New users would use the new URL. Old users's URL should continue to work.
