on the admin page, go to the Content Filtering section. Change "Should Mailman filter ..." to Yes. If you leave the rest at default values, including Yes for "Should Mailman convert text/html parts to plain text?", your list will only distribute plain text messages with no attachments. Hi, You can submit a support ticket here https://ssl.totalchoicehosting.com/supportdesk/ and request the domain name be "parked" once it is parked update the DNS for that domain name to point to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com and any time someone goes to that domain name they will be redirected to your main site.

It really depends on the amount of traffic you have on your forum and if you use a very image heavy theme for it. For the most part though forums dont use much bandwidth.

Just wanted to warn anyone that uses E-bay to be very careful when getting an E-mail that appears to be from E-bay and asks for your username and password in order to "verify" your account. E-bay doesn't ask for that information in E-mail. The E-mail asks you to go to a page that looks EXACTLY like the My Ebay log in page and enter your information. But if you look at the URL it obvious the page isn't an Ebay page, first and foremost it isn't thru a secure connection, all Ebay pages that require a username and password are secure, plus the URL is just wrong. I've already contacted the company the domain name is registered with as well as Ebay, just wanted to make everyone aware of the scam.

I've looked for a fix also, even tried changing how the board sends e-mail. A lot of people using IPB have this problem, and if you do a search on IPB's support forums you will see a lot of people asking how to fix it, but no real answers.

ok, if you have a subdomain called stuff, when you go to install the forum it will ask you what directory you want to install it in you would simply type stuff in the space where it asks for directory. If you do it this way only the forum will be displayed when you go to that subdomain. if you want the forum to be installed in a folder within the subdomain you would have to install it manually.

Yes you can have a forum in your subdomain, if you are using the auto install from cPanel it will create a different database for each forum. If you are manually installing you will need to manually create a separate database for each forum.

The install.php file is supposed to be deleted once you finish the install of the forums. It's easy to gain access to it if you know the path to the root forums folder. For example, if I install an Invision board to www.mysite.com/forum the root folder for the board is /forum. When you install an IPB one of the steps is to navigate to www.mysite.com/forum/install.php this sets up everything for your message board, including admin username and password. If you dont delete that file, anyone can navigate to it and change whatever they want. Another file you want to make sure is secure is config_global.php. This file has your database name as well as the database username and password in it, you dont want anyone accessing it and changing up your info

I use Outlook 2k (patched to the gills of course) with a plug in called cloudmark, it blocks spam mail and send it to a spam folder, then it reports the sender back to cloudmark to be added to their spammers list, if the message isn't spam, you just click unblock and it reports back to them and removes it from the spam list. you can get it free at www.cloudmark.com I also use another program called plaxo that auto updates your address book (if the person being updated uses plaxo)
