Paul left for Cali from New York at 1PM this afternoon, He hates to fly so I dont know what he was more nervous about, the flight or the taping for the show. I've seen pics of the completed project, it is by far his coolest case yet! Once he gets back its back to work on another project code named "The Brothers Grimm" It will have a matrix theme also, but this one is going to be a secret until it is taken to the Winter CPL case mod competition in Dallas in December. Paul and I are both going and we'll take lots of pics!! There are a lot of good case modders out there on the net but Paul is deffinately one of if not THE best. He;s taught me a lot and I'm working on a case mod that I "might" take to CPL if i get it finished. It's not as detailed as Pauls work but I'm pretty proud of it. My Case Mod

Are you doing a self install or the install from your cpanel?

you can also go to your cpanel and in the section labeled custom error pages modify your 404 page and it will save it as a .shtml

No, a second domain name cant point to a subdomain within your site. You can "park" a second domain name on top of your main name as long as they both point to the main page of your site. As an alternative you could get a reseller plan and have as many domain names as you would like.

Change that line from: $realname =~ tr# a-zA-Z0-9_\-,./'\200-377##dc; to: $realname =~ tr# a-zA-Z0-9_\-,./'\200-\377##dc;

a 404 page is the error page a visitor to your site will see if they try and go to a page that doesnt exist. My 404 page is very basic but you can customize it a LOT heres an example of mine. http://www.x-trememodz.com/fhwfh.htm

I just want to point out that the job the mods do here is a little different than on most forums, they aren't here to be the "forum police" They are here to help keep things in order so they'll be easy to find, encourage new family members to post and just help maintain the family atmosphere we have here. He doesnt want to point another domain name to a subdomain, He wants to order an entirely seperate hosting package and use the subdomain as the domain name. What he is wanting to do is when he goes thru the ordering process he wants to know if he can put subdomain.**** in the place where it asks for domain name. My guess would be no, but I'm not sure.

I don't think that was his question Jim, the way I understood it was can he get an entirely separate hosting account for his subdomain. He doesn't want to use his main domains space or bandwidth for his subdomain.

No place that we can just look and see what server is where (that I have seen anyway) You can get a pretty good idea of where a server is located by a trace route tho.

she has actually been using a computer for years, but Windows is like a foriegn country for her, she STILL works as an accountant and has been using DOS based programs forever. I just have to explain things 792 times before it sinks in, stuff like changing the background for her e-mails.

According to the new policy as long as you are not selling your space your ok. (as long as it doesnt break any of the other rules, no warez, no pornographic material etc) This ones best left to one of the server admins I believe You would not be held responsible for their actions, but if your site is the target, terminating your account is the best way to stop the DDos attack that affects the entire server. Another one best left to someone more "in the know" Hope that helps, If not someone higher up will be along to answer the others as well as correct any if I'm wrong
