Dedicated 46 is back online.

We have 2 dedicated server left that we are working on (dedicated46 and Dedicated41). We have 3 internal servers that are still being looked at (backup servers 1 thru 3). Updates to follow.....

We are back in the building and there was no fire. A breaker over heated and tripped causing the fire alarm sensors to also trip. We lost power to all our servers and are now going thru each server at a time to make sure we have everything back online, Please hold off on submitting tickets, we are fully aware of this issue and myself and Ryan are on site working as quickly as possible to restore service. We just got the last of the shared/reseller servers back on line and are now working on dedicated servers that are not pinging. Be patient, I am sorry for this. Bill

You are not stuck. Submit a ticket into the biling department and I will gladly refund your annual renewal fee in full. One of my tech's will reply here about the sqmail.

All servers that are located within the TCH NOC DATACENTER now have this feature enabled. You will be able to login to your cPanel and fully manage your own 12 hour incremental backups. Just click on the R1 Soft logo in cPanel. For those clients still hosted on servers at our Partner DC's we are working to migrate your accounts into our TCH Data Center. There will be a very exciting announcement concerning this in just a few short days.

I think what happened is my staff made a mistake. When we add new servers we deactivate all monitoring so as not to send out email pages to all the staffs blackberry devices. Once the new servers are added to the monitoring pool, we should then reactivate all the monitoring. Whoops! Bill

***UPDATE*** The level3 problems and the higher than normal latency are due to an intercity fiber cut between Detroit and Chicago. Many carriers are operating on protected paths that take longer routes which is the reason for the higher than normal latency. The fiber splice was just completed a few moments ago and we have brought level3 back into our bandwidth mix. latency is back to normal and we are not seeing any more packet loss over the level3 links. Thank you.

This is a feature that we are going to be offering to all our clients. We have been in the testing phases of this feature for the past few weeks and everything has been very good. We would like to roll out this feature and include a instructional demo video, however at this time we have not been able to get the demo video. For now, we will be posting complete instructions on how to use the R1 soft backup/restore on our website and forums. I am hoping this can be done in the next few days and will be updating this thread about that when I know more. This is a very special feature and one that no other budget hosting company on the planet is offering. We currently backup all of our server in our TCH NOC every 12 hours. These are incremental backups. We keep backups for 14 days and then rotate them using a standard backup rotation policy. These backups are mission critical level backups and have been 100% reliable for us over the past two years. I know it sounds a little silly, but this a a huge feature that is unheard for hosting that starts at $4.00 per month. These types of features are only seen on enterprise level, very expensive hosting. Since moving into our own data center, we have really transformed TCH from a budget host to a budget host with enterprise level services. Everyday I look at TCH Uptime, reliablity and service and am astounded at what we are doing for so little cost to the end user. /rant over Anyways, I will get some instructions up on how to use the software as soon as time permits. I am in a ATT area, so no Fios here. However, FIOS has brought some good changes to the market. In response to the high tiers that FIOS offers, most cable companies that have markets in or near FIOS neighboorhoods have greatly increased their speeds to compete with FIOS. For example, I have been stuck on 5mbps Charter for 3 years. Ten miles up the road, Verizon started a FIOS deployment. Serveral months after that, charter offered up a 16mbps/1mpbs speed tier. So yea, one word FIOS.
